THE ATOMIC RACE DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR
<p>The article examines the race for the possession of atomic weapons, which unfolded between Nazi Germany and the United States during the Second World War. The chronology of events shows that Nazi Germany was in the lead in the atomic race in 1940 and 1941. After the defeat of the Fascist troops near Moscow in December 1941, Hitler ordered to mobilize all resources for current military needs. At a time when the fighting on the Eastern Front was pulling more and more financial and human resources out of the Reich, the Nazi leadership came to the conclusion that the creation (and even more so the use) of nuclear weapons during the Second World War are no longer possible. If the United States (a huge rich country without military operations on its territory) intensified work on the nuclear project every month, then the Third Reich, on the contrary, conducted it according to the residual principle. The authors conclude that the main force that prevented the Nazis from unleashing atomic death on the world was the Soviet Union, which made a decisive contribution to the defeat of fascism.</p>

A U.K designed plane, the Sopwith Pup was famed aircraft designer Thomas Sopwith's first single-seat fighter. The Sopwith Pup found at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum is a reproduction built by George Neal of Toronto. Manufacture of the Pup took over seven years to complete. A.E.G. G.IV - First World War Airplane
The Allgemeine Elektrizitäts Gesellschaft (A.E.G.) G.IV bomber went into general use with the German Air Force in 1917. Because of its relatively short range, the G.IV served mainly as a tactical bomber. <br><br>The A.E.G. G.IV found at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum was transported to Canada in 1919 as a war trophy and has remained in the country ever since. World War 1 shell - Leeds YAC
This is an unexploded (and defused) shell head I purchased for about 15 Euros in northern France, somewhere near the Belgian border, possibly the Somme or Ireland Wood. This mesh was created for the September session of the Leeds Young Archaeologists club to show how easy it can be to make a 3D model at home! This is the mesh of the model itself. I like how the smoothness of the shell, considering that there are only a few imperfections for Meshroom to pick up on, it seems to be one of the easiest photogrammety software models I have used. World War II Heavy Anti-aircraft (HAA) gunsite near Bolton-upon-Dearne (South Yorkshire, UK), known as Station H17. The site was probably connected with the defence of Sheffield, which lies approximately 16km to the south west. The monument survives as a series of standing, buried and earthwork remains. The Mobilization of the European Communities in Chile during the First World War
<p>This chapter examines the mobilization of the French, German, and British communities in Chile in the opening months of the First World War. The work, based on the existing bibliography, newspapers of the period, and unpublished archival records, also analyses these communities’ organization of the Chilean rearguard. The study aims to increase our understanding of the impact of the war in Chile. It argues that a significant proportion of French, German, and British residents in Chile enlisted to fight in Europe, giving a strong positive response to their homelands despite facing different hurdles to travel to the Old World.</p>
