PERCEIVE: WP4: Spatial determinants of policy performance and synergies: Task4.4: Cohesion Policy vs Urban and Rural policies to address spatial discrepancies in EU territorial policy

This dataset consists of data addressing the relationship between territorial cohesion objectives and the problems perceived by citizens. In particular a comparative analysis between the case study regions will generate data useful for identifying best practices in mixing the EU policy instruments for a better achievement of regional needs. Data that will be generated via focus groups interviews among representatives of LMA (local management authorities) in 2 Polish regions: Dolnośląskie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie . Interview transcripts and report was used to address how territorial cohesion objectives match the “real problems” of regions. The focus groups were built around the following main topics: 1) governance of the Cohesion Policy projects, in order to understand how different authorities at different levels cooperate and share the responsibilities for the implementation of the Cohesion Policy; 2) level of citizen engagement, in order to understand whether a bottom-up approach is used; 3) how the media inform on the Cohesion Policy programmes, in order to appreciate the discrepancies (if any) about the aims of Cohesion Policy and its construction on the public discourse. Comparing current and past programming periods, we investigate how the policy performs in reducing the gap between territorial cohesion objectives and “real problems” defined by LMAs and citizens. Because it is project-specific data and reflects the concept and methodology of the study under PERCEIVE they are perceived as unique - similar data does not exist. Potential users are be Regional Policy’s European/National/Local policy makers and practitioners, European networks and associations looking to data on LMA opinions on cohesion policy implementation in Poland to be used in policy recommendation, studies and policy making process; next group of potential data users are researchers working on assessment of Cohesion Policy, data may be used as a source for topic-related studies, case studies, comparisons.

The dataset is made up of 5 files: 2 files consist of reports from the workshops, 2 files consist in transcripts of interviews to practitioners, beneficiaries and targets of the Cohesion Policy projects in the Polish selected case‐study regions. Interviewees are asked to provide their views and perceptions on the multilevel governance system, on the communication activities of the Operational Programmes and on the effectiveness of Cohesion Policy. 1 readme file is included.

Dataset of transactions of 10 Ethereum addresses controlled by a private key, each has at least 2000 output transactions, which include a transfer of cryptocurrency, and all transactions are performed within no longer than three months period.

Starting from the block Nr. 8578851, we have evaluated every block to find enough unique addresses that satisfy the following requirements. The address that appeared in a block must be controlled by private key (i.e., CA), have at least 2000, and not more than 6000 outgoing transactions (i.e., digitally signed), which however include a transfer of any amount of cryptocurrency (i.e., Ether) and must be performed within a period no longer than three months. The whole dataset includes a total of 30505 transactions.

Each transaction has data about:

transaction hash

block number

timestamp (Unix),

date and time (m/dd/yyyy)

from (Ethereum address)

to (Ethereum address)

output value (ETH)

transaction fee (ETH)

transaction fee (USD)

historical price (USD)

Data for: Triose phosphate utilization stress during photosynthesis addressed with dynamic assimilation measurements

Oscillations in CO2 assimilation rate and associated fluorescence parameters have been observed alongside the triose phosphate utilization (TPU) limitation of photosynthesis for nearly 50 years. However, the mechanics of these oscillations are poorly understood. Here we utilize the recently developed Dynamic Assimilation Techniques (DAT) for measuring the rate of CO2 assimilation to increase our understanding of what physiological condition is required to cause oscillations. We found that TPU limiting conditions alone were insufficient, and that plants must enter TPU limitation quickly to cause oscillations. We found that ramps of CO2 caused oscillations proportional in strength to the speed of the ramp, and that ramps induce oscillations with worse outcomes than oscillations induced by step change of CO2 concentration. An initial overshoot is caused due to a temporary excess of available phosphate. During the overshoot, the plant out-performs steady state TPU and ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate regeneration limitations of photosynthesis but cannot exceed the rubisco limitation. We performed additional optical measurements which support the role of photosystem I reduction and oscillations in availability of NADP+ and ATP in supporting oscillations.

Classification of domain names of scholarly email addresses

This dataset contains the classification of email domain names used in the paper 'Analyzing the use of email addresses in scholarly publications' by Marc Luwel and Nees Jan van Eck. Email domain names are classified as institutional if they are linked to a scholarly organization or as non-institutional if they are linked to an email service provider.

The file 'email_domain_name_classification.txt' contains for 11,608 email domain names the classification based on a rule-based approach and after manual validation.

PolyMed: A Medical Dataset Addressing Disease Imbalance for Robust Automatic Diagnosis Systems

We introduce the PolyMed dataset, designed to address the limitations of existing medical case data for Automatic Diagnosis Systems (ADS). ADS assists doctors by predicting diseases based on patients' basic information, such as age, gender, and symptoms. However, these systems face challenges due to imbalanced disease label data and difficulties in accessing or collecting medical data. To tackle these issues, the PolyMed dataset has been developed to improve the evaluation of ADS by incorporating medical knowledge graph data and diagnosis case data. The dataset aims to provide comprehensive evaluation, include diverse disease information, effectively utilize external knowledge, and perform tasks closer to real-world scenarios.

We have also made the data collection tools publicly available to enable researchers and other interested parties to contribute additional data in a standardized format. These tools feature a range of customizable input fields that can be selectively utilized according to the user's specific requirements, ensuring consistency and professionalism in the data collection process.

All train and test code of our data available in https://github.com/krchanyang/PolyMed

African elephants address one another with individually specific name-like calls

Personal names are a universal feature of human language, yet few analogs exist in other species. While dolphins and parrots address conspecifics by imitating the calls of the addressee, human names are not imitations of the sounds typically made by the named individual. Labeling objects or individuals without relying on imitation of the sounds made by that object or individual radically expands the expressive power of language. Thus, if non-imitative name analogs were found in other species, this could have important implications for our understanding of language evolution. Here, we present evidence that wild African elephants address one another with individually specific calls without imitation. We used machine learning to demonstrate that the receiver of a call could be predicted from the call's acoustic structure and found little evidence that calls addressed to a given receiver imitate the receiver's own calls. Moreover, elephants differentially responded to playbacks of calls originally addressed to them relative to calls addressed to a different individual, indicating that they can determine from a call's structure if it was addressed to them. Our findings offer the first evidence for a non-human species individually addressing conspecifics without imitating the receiver.
