Project Panormos Archaeological Survey: Daily Log (survey-dailylog)

This forms part of the preliminary open data release for the Project Panormos archaeological survey.

The ```panormos/survey-dailylog``` repository contains the source documents for the survey project's daily logs, written and edited by different team members and designed to provide a narrative-based record of the activities and mood of the team through the fieldwork.

It does NOT include any raw archaeological data (e.g. tables of finds or spatial information) produced by the project, and should not be taken as the final word in interpretation.

Release 0.2.0 includes data from the 2015, 2017 and 2019 seasons. It is a pre-publication or observation version. No derivative works should be made until the expiry of the observation phase: please see enclosed LICENSE file for details.

Release 0.1.0 includes data from the 2015 season. It is a pre-publication or observation version. No derivative works should be made until the expiry of the observation phase: please see enclosed LICENSE file for details.

Releases below 1.0.0 represent preprint working datasets before final publication. Although every effort has been made to reduce errors and make the datasets available in a form that should be easy to navigate, the status of the data as a form of "beta" should be borne in mind.

Project Panormos Archaeological Survey: Method Design (survey-design)

This forms part of the preliminary open data release for the Project Panormos archaeological survey.

This "panormos/survey-design" repository contains data collection templates used to record the survey data (particularly the intensive part of the survey), both electronic versions based on XLSForm and XForm format (e.g. for access with ODK software, CSV versions of the XLS formats are also preserved for long-term readability), as well as paper forms (such as walker collection books).

Release 0.2.0 includes templates from the 2015, 2017 and 2019 seasons. The design of the forms is released under a CC BY-SA license, which means that users may re-use, adapt and create derivative versions on condition that the source is attributed and that any modified versions are released under the same terms.

Release 0.1.0 includes templates from the 2015 season. The design of the forms is released under a CC BY-SA license, which means that users may re-use, adapt and create derivative versions on condition that the source is attributed and that any modified versions are released under the same terms.

Releases below 1.0.0 represent preprint working datasets before final publication. Although every effort has been made to reduce errors and make the datasets available in a form that should be easy to navigate, the status of the data as a form of "beta" should be borne in mind.

Project Panormos Archaeological Survey: Archaeological Data (survey-data)

This forms part of the preliminary open data release for the Project Panormos archaeological survey.

This "panormos/survey-data" repository contains archaeological data collected as part of the Project Panormos intensive archaeological survey, including tract data (pottery counts, environment, etc.), POI (points-of-interest), finds descriptions and contexts, and photo metadata. Scripts to correct raw imported data files (e.g. from ODK software) into the "canonical" versions are also made available here.

Release 0.2.0 includes data from the 2015, 2017 and 2019 seasons. It is a pre-publication or "observation" version. No derivative works should be made until the expiry of the observation phase: please see enclosed LICENSE file for details.

Release 0.1.0 includes data from the 2015 season. Project Panormos Archaeological Survey: Photograph Archive (survey-photo-archive)

This forms part of the preliminary open data release for the Project Panormos archaeological survey.

The panormos/survey-photo-archive repository contains the source archive of digital images (primarily photographs) created during the course of the fieldwork for Project Panormos excavations and survey. This includes field photographs taken along with tract and POI data, unprocessed photographs of finds, and occasionally edited, colour- or balance-corrected photographs in an appropriate quality for (re-)publication. Some included photographs are of the general region and although produced by team members are not a direct result of the survey work.

There are some restrictions on the distribution of images from the original source archive; these images will not be available in the distribution of "Core" released photographs found here, but may be made available on request. Basic metadata from these images may be available in the associated metadata files nonetheless.

Project Panormos Archaeological Survey: Satellite Image (gis-copernicus)

This forms part of the preliminary open data release for the Project Panormos archaeological survey.

This "panormos/gis-copernicus" repository contains a raster used as a background for mapping the survey data. This image was derived from Copernicus Sentinel Data, and is redistributed in compliance with the legal notice on the use of Copernicus Sentinel Data
