Female figure graffiti in Villarrubia Jail
The 18th century jail of Villarrubia de los Ojos, built on the ground floor of the old City Hall building, is located in the center of the town of Villarrubia de los Ojos (Ciudad Real, Spain). As in other jails of the same period, the walls of some cells contain engravings. Among all of them here it is possible to distinguish a female figure, which appears with the sexual organ very marked. Religious motifs such as crosses, sacred hearts, etc. have also been identified. 3D model was made in Reality Capture using 81 images. Ballochmyle Graffiti
The date 1751 carved into a red sandstone rock wall at Ballochmyle, Ayrshire, Scotland. On the same wall there is an unusually high number of prehistoric cup & ring marks. Graffiti in the prison of the town of Picón (1)
The model shows some of the graffiti preserved in the prison of the town of Picón (Ciudad Real, Spain). The jail of Picón had two cells located on the ground floor of the City Hall. Its construction dates from the sixteenth century and is one of the few examples that are preserved in La Mancha. On its walls the prisoners recorded numerous graffiti among which we can see deer, crosses, buildings, hearts ... It was in use until the nineteenth century, at which time the Spanish judicial and prison system changed. 3D model made in Reality Capture using 183 images. Historic Wall Plaster and Graffiti
In 2009, CAP made an incredible discovery - a chunk of wall plaster that was well-preserved and showed a partial signature. Even more incredible was the discovery of a historic photo in the MSU Archives showing the exact same piece of signed plaster within the rest of the plastered wall and with even more signatures. In May 1887, Alexander Moore and 6 of his fellow MAC students helped do repairs on College Hall. To mark the occasion, they signed their names on a wall under the words "Darn Hard Job." Over 120 years later, CAP archaeologists found this fragment of their graffiti. We never would have learned the backstory of this cool and personal artifact without finding a historical photograph of the graffiti in the Michigan State University Archives. The 18th century jail of Villarrubia de los Ojos, built on the ground floor of the old City Hall building, is located in the center of the town of Villarrubia de los Ojos (Ciudad Real, Spain). As in other jails of the same period, the walls of some cells contain engravings (graffiti). Among all of them here it is possible to distinguish a plow. The representation of a plow is probably related to the fact that in the 18th century in this area most of the workers were farmers. 3D model made in Reality Capture using 60 images. INGRIDKG: A FAIR Knowledge Graph of Graffiti
<p>Graffiti is an urban phenomenon that is increasingly attracting the interest of the sciences. To the best of our knowledge, no<br> suitable data corpora are available for systematic research until now. The Information System Graffiti in Germany project<br> (INGRID) closes this gap by dealing with graffiti image collections that have been made available to the project for public<br> use. Within INGRID, the graffiti images are collected, digitized and annotated. With this work, we aim to support the rapid<br> access to a comprehensive data source on INGRID targeted especially by researchers. In particular, we present INGRIDKG, an<br> RDF knowledge graph of annotated graffiti, abides by the Linked Data and FAIR principles. We weekly update INGRIDKG<br> by augmenting the new annotated graffiti to our knowledge graph. Our generation pipeline applies RDF data conversion,<br> link discovery and data fusion approaches to the original data. The current version of INGRIDKG contains 460,640,154 triples<br> and is linked to 3 other knowledge graphs by over 200,000 links. In our use case studies, we demonstrate the usefulness of<br> our knowledge graph for different applications. INGRIDKG is publicly available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0<br> International license.</p>

Abbelville - TN004-022001 - Graffiti
Lackeen Castle is an important site in Irish history. An O'Kennedy stronghold (Smyth 1985, 118) of sixteenth-century date which belonged to Brian Ua Cinneide Fionn, Chieftain of Ormond who died in 1588 (Harbison 1970, 230). Described in the Civil Survey (1654-6) as an 'old ruined castle & bawne of Leackeene the walls onely standing an orchard and garden' (Simington 1934, vol. 2, 315). Donogh Kenedy is listed as proprietor in 1640 (ibid.) The Stowe Missal was held at this site at one time. An Irish illuminated manuscript written mainly in Latin with some Gaelic in the late eighth or early ninth century, probably after 792. In the mid-11th century it was annotated and some pages rewritten at Lorrha Monastery in County Tipperary, Ireland. Also known as the Lorrha Missal. This medieval grafithi appears to show a brush or fork, but what cannot be seen in this model is the arm and torso of a man holding it brush. It is possible this is representation of the Straw King. Cruciform graffiti in Villarrubia Jail (Spain)
The 18th century jail of Villarrubia de los Ojos, built on the ground floor of the old City Hall building, is located in the center of the town of Villarrubia de los Ojos (Ciudad Real, Spain). As in other jails of the same period, the walls of some cells contain engravings. Among all of them here it is possible to distinguish a cruciform graffiti. This section of the jail currently belongs to the Círculo de la Unión Recreational Association, and we would like to thank this organization for its collaboration in this project. 3D model made in Reality Capture using 114 images.
