<p><strong>PyPSA-Earth </strong>is an open model dataset of the global power system at different network levels that cover our Earth. The African model can be built using the code provided at <a href="https://github.com/pypsa-meets-africa/pypsa-africa">https://github.com/pypsa-meets-africa/pypsa-africa</a>. Other regions follow soon under the same code base.</p> <p>Since the GitHub codebase is not suited for handling large changing files, we provide here separate <strong>data bundles and cutouts</strong> to be downloaded and extracted as noted in the <a href="https://pypsa-meets-africa.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html">documentation</a></p> <p>The below-provided <strong>resource file </strong>contains demand time-series generated by <a href="https://github.com/niclasmattsson/GlobalEnergyGIS/blob/b23206f8701acafdf7359f9cc952dfd4e7b819e5/src/downloaddatasets.jl">GEGIS</a> covering the world. Open-source quality control routine and multi-year power generation data of 175 PV systems
<p><strong>Description</strong></p> <p>The repository contains an extensive dataset of PV power measurements and a python package (qcpv) for quality controlling PV power measurements. The dataset features four years (2014-2017) of power measurements of 175 rooftop mounted residential PV systems located in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The power measurements have a 1-min resolution.</p> <p><strong>PV power measurements</strong></p> <p>Three different versions of the power measurements are included in three data-subsets in the repository. Unfiltered power measurements are enclosed in <em>unfiltered_pv_power_measurements.csv</em>. Filtered power measurements are included as <em>filtered_pv_power_measurements_sc.csv </em>and<em> filtered_pv_power_measurements_ac.csv</em>. The former dataset contains the quality controlled power measurements after running single system filters only, the latter dataset considers the output after running both single and across system filters. The metadata of the PV systems is added in<em> metadata.csv</em>. This file holds for each PV system a unique ID, start and end time of registered power measurements, estimated DC and AC capacity, tilt and azimuth angle, annual yield and mapped grids of the system location (north, south, west and east boundary).</p> <p><strong>Quality control routine</strong></p> <p>An open-source quality control routine that can be applied to filter erroneous PV power measurements is added to the repository in the form of the Python package qcpv (<em>qcpv.py</em>). Sample code to call and run the functions in the qcpv package is available as <em>example.py.</em></p> <p><strong>Objective</strong></p> <p>By publishing the dataset we provide access to high quality PV power measurements that can be used for research experiments on several topics related to PV power and the integration of PV in the electricity grid.</p> <p>By publishing the qcpv package we strive to set a next step into developing a standardized routine for quality control of PV power measurements. Tutorial Weather Data Cutouts for PyPSA-Eur: An Open Optimisation Model of the European Transmission System
<p><strong>PyPSA-Eur</strong> is an open model dataset of the European power system at the transmission network level that covers the full ENTSO-E area. It can be built using the code provided at <a href="https://github.com/PyPSA/PyPSA-eur">https://github.com/PyPSA/PyPSA-eur</a>.</p> <p><strong>It contains</strong> alternating current lines at and above 220 kV voltage level and all high voltage direct current lines, substations, an open database of conventional power plants, time series for electrical demand and variable renewable generator availability, and geographic potentials for the expansion of wind and solar power.</p> <p><strong>Not all data dependencies</strong> are shipped with the <a href="https://github.com/PyPSA/PyPSA-eur">code repository</a>, since git is not suited for handling large changing files. Instead we provide separate <strong>data bundles and cutouts</strong> to be downloaded and extracted as noted in the <a href="https://pypsa-eur.readthedocs.io/en/latest/installation.html">documentation</a>.</p> <p>The provided lightweight <strong>cutouts </strong>are spatiotemporal subsets of the German weather data from the <a href="https://software.ecmwf.int/wiki/display/CKB/ERA5+data+documentation">ECMWF ERA5</a> reanalysis dataset for March 2013 to be used for the <a href="https://pypsa-eur.readthedocs.io/en/latest/tutorial.html">PyPSA-Eur tutorial</a>. An Online Integrated Development Environment for Automated Programming Assessment Systems Open Source Data
<p>This dataset accompanies the paper <em>"An Online Integrated Development Environment for Automated Programming Assessment Systems"</em>. It contains data from the usability evaluation of a feature-rich online IDE designed for integration into Automated Programming Assessment Systems (APASs). The dataset includes survey responses from 27 participants based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), performance metrics such as memory usage, and qualitative user feedback. The study highlights challenges in integrating online IDEs with APASs, such as memory efficiency, load balancing, and user experience. Dataset: Harmonized and Open Energy Dataset for Modeling a Highly Renewable Brazilian Power System
<p>The dataset provided here is intended for publication - Harmonized and Open Energy Dataset for Modeling a Highly Renewable Brazilian Power System.</p> <p>Direct use of our provided datasets is available from Zenodo, and the source code to generate the datasets is published in <a href="https://gitlab.com/dlr-ve/esy/open-brazilian-energy-data">Gitlab</a>. We describe the data collection process in detail and open source the code for data processing and analysis in our publication.</p> <p><br> The assembled dataset includes the following subcategories, as detailed in the methods section of our publication: i) geospatial data for Brazil, ii) aggregated grid network topology, iii) vRES potentials --- profile and installable generation capacity, iv) geographically installable capacity of biomass thermal plants, v) hydropower plants inflow, vi) existing and planned power generators with their capacity, vii) electricity load profile, viii) scenarios of sectoral energy demand and ix) cross-border electricity exchanges. This dataset is resolved geographically by Brazilian federal states, and time series data are resolved by hours, spanning 2012-2020.</p> <p>The dataset can be used as input to popular open energy system models such as PyPSA and any other modelling framework.</p> <p>We encourage you to contribute to improving the datasets.</p>

SensEURCity: A multi-city air quality dataset collected using networks of open low-cost sensor systems
<p>We provide a unique curated dataset of urban air quality measurements acquired using dense networks of low-cost sensor systems in three European cities for the years 2020 and 2021. The dataset includes the raw sensor data of quality-controlled sensor networks along with co-located reference data sets. Sensor data are collected using the AirSensEUR sensor system, including sensors to monitor NO, NO2, O3, CO, PM2.5, PM10, PM1, CO2, and meteorological parameters. In total, 85 sensor systems were deployed throughout the years 2020 and 2021 in three European cities (Antwerp , Oslo and Zagreb), resulting in a dataset comprising different meteorological and ambient conditions. The main data collection included two co-location campaigns in different seasons at an air quality monitoring station in each city and a deployment at different locations in each city (including also locations at other air quality monitoring stations). The dataset consists of data files with sensor and reference data, and metadata files with description of locations, deployment dates and description of sensors and reference instruments. </p>

Comparison of different types of restitution in groundwater for open-loop shallow geothermal systems
<p>Comparison of different types of restitution in groundwater of the thermally modified water, exploited by open-loop shallow geothermal systems. The comparison shows that the restitution in the vadose zone in more thermally sustainable, since the produced thermal alteration is lower when reinstating the aquifer by trenches or infiltration wells rather than using a reinjection well directly in groundwater. These would be wiser solutions to avoid an overheating/overcooling of the aquifer at higher depths, especially in urban areas where the density of shallow geothermal systems is constantly increasing. The white line represents the elevation of the groundwater table calculated by the model for each simulated day.</p>

Behaviour of dissolved inorganic salts in the cooling water of a nuclear power plant open recirculation system and formation of water discharge
<p>The main problem in the operation of nuclear power plants is the scale formation of mineral impurities in an open recirculating system. However, water discharge from an open recirculating system into water bodies can lead to changes in the chemical equilibrium of wastewater components and requires constant monitoring. The purpose of this study was to analyse the behaviour of dissolved inorganic salts in water in an open recirculating system during water treatment using the example of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant. Moreover, the analysis impact of their discharge with return water in the Styr River. The dissolved inorganic salt concentration has a significant impact on the efficiency of the system and the environment of an open recirculating system power plant. Altogether, each dissolved inorganic salt component was analysed separately using standard measurement methods, using statistical methods of data processing, and correlation analysis. In addition, the annual discharge of the dissolved inorganic salts components was calculated and the amount of discharge was assessed for compliance with the maximum discharge limit. Thus, the influence of the formation of the dissolved inorganic salts and changes in their concentration value during the discharge of returned water into a natural water body was analysed.</p>

<p><strong>Survey "Readiness of library information science graduates to create an information system in the library (on the example of open science)"</strong></p> <p>The research is aimed at identifying the degree of readiness of future specialists in the field of library and information science to work in new and relevant areas of library activities related to the development of information infrastructure of open science.</p> <p>The survey consists of 4 thematic blocks and contains 21 questions.</p> <p>The survey was attended by 54 students from 10 Russian universities, studying in the direction of training 51.03.06 "Library and Information Science".</p> <p>The results of this survey will serve as a basis for the development of professional development programmes on various aspects of the functioning of open science for specialists in the field of library and information activity.</p> <p><strong>Опрос «Готовность выпускников направления библиотечная информационная наука к созданию системы информирования в библиотеке (на примере открытой науки)»</strong></p> <p>Исследование направленно на выявление степени готовности будущих специалистов в области библиотечно-информационной деятельности к работе в новых и актуальных направлениях деятельности библиотек, связанных с развитием информационной инфраструктуры открытой науки.</p> <p>Опрос состоит из 4-х тематических блоков и содержит 21 вопрос.</p> <p>В опросе приняли участие 54 студента из 10 российских вузов, обучающихся по направлению подготовки 51.03.06 «Библиотечно-информационная деятельность».</p> <p>Результаты данного опроса послужат основой разработки программ повышения квалификации по различным аспектам функционирования открытой науки для специалистов в области библиотечно-информационной деятельности.</p>
