Cows, Pigs and People: Example data of cubic insulin from three different species recorded on Diamond Light Source I24

<p>Data collected at 100K on 10th May 2024 at I24 (Diamond Light Source) to investigate automatic grouping of datasets containing very subtle differences. Crystals grown by Cicely Tam following standard techniques with coordination from Felicity Bertram. For each of bovine, porcine, and human insulin, 10 degree wedges are included. Insulin from these three sources differ by 1-3 amino acids, but are otherwise structurally isomorphous.&nbsp;</p> <p>The purpose of the data upload is to make data available for tutorials using the DIALS toolchain (see e.g. examples at https://github.com/graeme-winter/dials_tutorials) however data are available for all purposes without limitation.&nbsp;</p> <p>Key:</p> <p>CIX - bovine insulin</p> <p>PIX - porcine insulin</p> <p>X - human insulin</p>

INDICATORS TO EVALUATE THE LABOUR INSERTION OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN CONVENTIONAL COMPANIES IN SPAIN: QUANTITIATIVE DATA SET OF DELPHI STUDY (PHASE 2 AND PHASE 3)

<p><span>The level of labor integration of people with disability (PwD) is notably lower than that of people without disabilities. In order to evaluate the success of the labor market integration of people with disabilities, it is necessary to establish a series of indicators that go beyond hiring rates. Hence, the objective of this study is to develop a list of indicators with their specified individual weight that will serve to evaluate the success of the labor market insertion of PwD in conventional companies. </span></p> <p><span>Methodology: </span></p> <p><span>The Delphi method was used. </span></p> <p><span>PHASE 1</span></p> <p><span>In Phase 1, an open-ended questionnaire was distributed to 48 human resources and disability experts.&nbsp;<span><br></span></span></p> <p><span>PHASE 2</span></p> <p><span>Based on the theoretical dimensions obtained, a list of 52 indicators was drawn up and the experts were asked to evaluate the importance of each item using a scale of 0 to 10 points. In addition, in this second questionnaire, they were encouraged to propose improvements in the final wording of the items, as well as in the relevance and denomination of the dimensions into which they had been grouped. No suggestions were received to modify the wording or to incorporate additional items.</span></p> <p><span>PHASE 3</span></p> <p><span>Once the scores of all the participants had been collected, a third questionnaire was sent out with the aim of achieving a statistical consensus within the group of experts. In this questionnaire, each panel member was informed of their degree of agreement or disagreement in relation to the group as a whole, without revealing the identity of the other participants. In other words, each participant was provided with information on the average rating of the group and their own initial rating (from Phase 2) of each of the 52 indicators, offering them the option to modify their response if they considered it appropriate. If they chose to change their assessment, they were asked to justify their reasons.</span></p> <p><span><span>To assess the possible convergence of opinion, the change in the responses received in the third phase with respect to the second phase was analyzed. We examined whether there had been variations in the scores given by the experts in the second phase once the group's mean ratings had been received. For this purpose, the &ldquo;proportion of experts&rdquo; statistic was used to verify that the average value of the responses in this third phase was within a range from [-0.5 to +0.5], compared to the average value of the scores in the second phase. In the case of non-convergence of opinion, this methodology allows for as many rounds as necessary until convergence is achieved. </span></span></p> <p><span><span>THIS DATA SET COLLECT THE ANSWERS OF THE EXPERTS OF PHASE 2 AND PHASE 3.</span></span></p>

Black Lives, British Justice: Black people in London Criminal Justice Records 1720-1841

<p>This dataset brings together all 698 known references to &lsquo;Black&rsquo; or possibly Black African heritage people or groups in records of London criminal justice (1720-1841). Each entry includes references to primary sources mentioning the person(s), including in the <em>Old Bailey Proceedings</em>, <em>Ordinary&rsquo;s Accounts</em>, and <em>Middlesex Criminal Registers</em>. Individuals are trial witnesses, victims, defendants, and people mentioned in passing during testimony. For each entry, a confidence level is offered by the authors, as a person&rsquo;s ethnicity cannot always be determined with certainty. Evidence for making that judgment is provided. This dataset is useful for anyone interested in Black history in Britain, Black people and justice, or Black London during the age of enslavement.</p> <p>Significant background material is available on the Old Bailey Online website, which provides additional context for these records. Obesity is associated with increased self-reported pain intensity and pain-related disability, reductions in physical functioning and poorer psychological well-being. People living with obesity tend to respond less well to pain treatments or management compared to people living without obesity. Mechanisms linking obesity and pain are complex and may variously include contributions from and interactions between physiological, behavioural, psychological, socio-cultural, biomechanical, and genetic factors. Our aim is to study the multidimensional pain profiles of people living with obesity, over time, in an attempt to better understand the relationship between obesity and pain.<br> &nbsp;</p> <p><em>Methods and analysis: </em></p> <p>This longitudinal observational cohort study will recruit (n=216) people living with obesity and who are newly attending three&nbsp;weight management services in Ireland. Participants will complete questionnaires that assess their multidimensional biopsychosocial pain experience at baseline and at 3, 6, 12 and 18-months post-recruitment. Quantitative analyses will characterise the multidimensional pain experiences and trajectories of the cohort as a whole and in defined sub-groups.<br> &nbsp;</p> <p><em>Ethics and dissemination: </em></p> <p>The study protocol has been approved by the Ethics and Medical Research Committee of St Vincent&rsquo;s Healthcare Group, Dublin, Ireland (Reference No.: RS21-059) and the University College Dublin Human Research Ethics Committee (Reference No.: LS-E-22-41-Hinwood-Smart). We evaluate the spatial congruence of ecosystems providing globally high levels of nature&rsquo;s contributions to people, biodiversity, and areas with high development potential across several sectors. We find that conserving approximately half of global land area through protection or sustainable management could provide 90% of the current levels of ten of nature&rsquo;s contributions to people and meet minimum representation targets for 26,709 terrestrial vertebrate species. This finding supports recent commitments by national governments under the Global Biodiversity Framework to conserve at least 30% of global lands and waters, and proposals to conserve &ldquo;half Earth&rdquo;. More than one-third of areas required for conserving nature&rsquo;s contributions to people and species are also highly suitable for agriculture, renewable energy, oil and gas, mining, or urban expansion. This indicates potential conflicts among conservation, climate and development goals.</p> <p>This dataset contains code and outputs of spatial optimizations run using prioritizr (https://prioritizr.net/index.html). R code used to run the spatial optimizations is contained in a zipfile named &quot;code.zip&quot;.</p> <p>Output data includes raster files (TIF format).&nbsp;Raster values are 0-1, where 1 means the grid cell was selected to achieve a particular target, 0 means the grid cell was not selected, and values between 0 and 1 indicate a grid cell was partially selected.</p> <p>Three variations of the spatial optimization were run. Each TIF or ZIP&nbsp;file contains the outputs from&nbsp;one of these variations:</p> <ol> <li>NCP (Nature&#39;s contributions to people) only <ol> <li>File name:&nbsp;NCP_only_2km.zip (ZIP file)</li> </ol> </li> <li>NCP and biodiversity, prioritization run at 10km then masked to natural and semi-natural habitat at 2km <ol> <li>File names:&nbsp;es00bio1_nathab_mask.tif, es05bio1_nathab_mask.tif, etc. (TIF files)</li> </ol> </li> <li>NCP and biodiversity, with protected areas and OECM (WDPA)&nbsp;locked in <ol> <li>File name:&nbsp;NCP_biod_WDPA_nathab.zip (ZIP file)</li> </ol> </li> </ol> <p>Within each variation, 19 different spatial optimizations were run, with NCP targets ranging from 5%-95% in 5% increments.</p> <ul> <li>Raster filenames within ZIP files indicate the NCP (ecosystem service) target (for example, es05 indicates a target of 5%)</li> <li>Whether biodiversity was included or not (for example, bio1 indicates biodiversity was included, bio0 indicates it was not)</li> </ul> <p>Two additional TIF files were included, which are the result of summing the rasters from the above scenarios. Raster values range from 0-19, where 19 indicates grid cells selected in all scenarios, 0 indicates grid cells selected in 0 scenarios. Higher values (e.g. 19) indicate cells with the highest levels of NCP globally in the least amount of area. Perceptions of People Working in IT (extended version) [ACM DTRAP 2020], DOI&nbsp;10.1145/3419472, more details at&nbsp;https://crocs.fi.muni.cz/public/papers/dtrap2020</li> </ul> <p>The artifacts contain the full experimental setup (as described in Section 2.1 of the paper) and the complete anonymized dataset underlying the evaluation presented in Sections 3 and 4.</p> <p>The experimental setup contains the documents accompanying the task: the informed consent, pre-task questionnaire, task description, trust scales, and the list of questions posed during the post-task interview (all in PDFs). We further include the custom website with certificate validation documentation for the &ldquo;redesigned&rdquo; condition (static&nbsp;HTML). While working on the task, participants in the &ldquo;redesigned&rdquo; condition could access this website via a link that was in the redesigned error messages. Furthermore, we provide the software with which the participants interacted.&nbsp; It contains the displayed error messages and validated certificates. These things are available both individually and incorporated in a snapshot of a virtual machine used at the experiment (importable directly into VirtualBox).</p> <p>The collected data is presented in a single dataset (SPSS format; you can use PSPP as a free alternative). It includes the analysis syntax files to obtain the numerical results presented in the paper. For each participant, the dataset contains: 1) pre-task questionnaire answers, 2) reported trust ratings, 3) sub-task timing, 4) information on whether they browsed the Internet and 5) the interview codes assigned. Note that we do not publish the interview transcripts to preserve participant privacy.</p>

Data for ms. Do people really care less about their cats than about their dogs? A comparative study in three European countries

<p>The present dataset is based on a&nbsp;questionnaire which is also part of this package. The enclose questionnaire includes&nbsp; identifiable&nbsp;and&nbsp;relevant variables names (yellow highlighted).</p> <p>Participants were recruited by Norstat, a European-based survey company, with the aim of gaining a representative sample of Austrian, Danish and UK citizens, including pet owners. The survey company administers and hosts online panels comprising citizens from many European countries. We aimed for a sample that is representative in terms of age, gender, and region. Therefore, a stratified sampling principle was set up where individuals within each stratum were randomly invited to participate. The invitations were issued through e-mail that contained a link to the online questionnaire. Data was collected from 11-25<sup>th</sup> of March 2022 in Austria, from 11-24<sup>th</sup> of March 2022 in Denmark and from 8-23<sup>rd</sup> of March 2022 in the UK. The invitation provided information about the background of the study, the participating universities, ethical approval, estimated time for questionnaire completion and further, participants were informed that the completion of the questionnaire was voluntary and anonymous, and that they could exit the survey at any point. Before participants were directed to the survey, they ensured informed consent by confirming that they are over 17 years old, and consent to participate in this survey.&nbsp;</p> <p>Besides the questionnaire the dataset includes a csv and an Excel file consisting of the data&nbsp;that is&nbsp;used in the ms.&nbsp;and an rtf and a pdf file with data variable names/labels, and value labels.</p>

Characterization of the anti-spike IgG immune response to COVID-19 vaccines in people with a wide variety of immunodeficiencies

<p>Participants submitted saliva using the OME-505 collection device (OMNIgene Oral, Ottawa, Canada) every two weeks from vaccination through six months post-dose 3 to detect breakthrough SARS-CoV-2 infections. Viral RNA was extracted using the NucliSENS easyMag automated extraction system from 200ul of saliva in stabilizing solution and eluted in a total volume of 50ul. First strand cDNA synthesis was performed from 5ul of eluted RNA using SuperScript IV VILO Master Mix (Thermo Fisher). Positive specimens were then sequenced. Multiplex tiled amplicon libraries were prepared using the Midnight panel and Rapid barcoding kit RBK-004 (Oxford Nanopore technologies) using previously published protocol.&nbsp;Twelve sample pooled libraries were sequenced on a GridION X5 nanopore sequencer using Flongle adapters. After sequencing, raw data were processed using interARTIC&nbsp;to generate consensus sequences and variant calls. SARS-CoV-2<strong> </strong>lineages were determined using these consensus sequences and the NextClade and Pangolin platforms.</p>

Resting-State High-Density EEG using EGI GES 300 with 256 Channels of Healthy Elders, People with Subjective and Mild Cognitive Impairment and Alzheimer's Disease

<p>This repository contains Matlab files including 4 samples of resting-state EEG recording for Alzheimer&#39;s Disease (AD), Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Subjective Cognitive Decline (SCD), and Healthy Controls (HC) using the HD-EEG EGI GES 300.</p> <p><strong>[AD: i108,&nbsp;MCI: i100,&nbsp;SCD: i090,&nbsp;HC: s055]</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Participants &amp; Settings</strong></p> <p>In total 230&nbsp;participants have been recruited from the memory and dementia clinic of the Greek Association of Alzheimer&rsquo;s Disease and Related Disorders (GAADRD) and the 1st Department of Neurology, U.H. AHEPA, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.</p> <p>The full dataset includes:</p> <p><strong>Healthy Controls Elders (60+ years old)</strong>: 33 participants</p> <p><strong>Subjective Cognitive Decline:</strong> 34&nbsp;participants</p> <p><strong>Mild Cognitive Impairment</strong>: 79&nbsp;participants</p> <p><strong>Alzheimer&#39;s Disease</strong>: 48&nbsp;participants</p> <p><strong>Healthy Young (25-40 years old):</strong> 36&nbsp;participants</p> <p>The study was carried out in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and received approval by the Scientific and Ethics Committee of GAADRD (No56_27/11/2016), and written informed consent was obtained from all participants prior to their participation in the study. The diagnosis of AD was conducted by a neuropsychiatrist according to their medical history, neuropsychological performance, structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and clinical and neurological examinations.</p> <p>Participants with AD fulfilled the National Institute of Neurological and Communication Disorders and Stroke/Alzheimer&rsquo;s Disease and Related Disorders Association (NINCDS-ADRDA) criteria for probable AD, as well as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) criteria for dementia of Alzheimer&rsquo;s type (American Psychological Association, 1994). On the other hand, the MCI participants fulfilled the Petersen criteria, while the SCD group met International Working Group-2 guidelines&nbsp;and the recent National Institute on Aging-Alzheimer&rsquo;s Association workgroups on diagnostic guidelines for Alzheimer&rsquo;s disease (NI-AA), as well as the SCD-I Working Group instructions.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Resting-State EEG Recording</strong></p> <p>Fifteen-minute resting EEG activity was recorded for all the participants. For the whole duration of the resting state EEG recording, participants were advised to keep themselves relaxed as much as possible, close their eyes and open them after the researcher&rsquo;s demand, sit still, minimize blinking or mouth movements and let their mind wander. The experimental procedure was monitored by a research assistant aiming to identify cases of horizontal eye movements, continued blinking, or excessive movement by visually inspecting the EEG traces during the experiment. More specifically, an EEG was registered for both resting conditions (eyes open, EO and eyes closed, EC) for at least 2&ndash;3 min for each period.</p> <p><strong>EEG Data Acquisition</strong></p> <p>The EEG data were collected by using the EGI 300 Geodesic EEG system (GES 300, CERTH-ITI, Thessaloniki, Greece) with a 256-channel HydroCel Geodesic Sensor Net (HCGSN) and a sampling rate of 250 Hz (EGI Eugene, OR). Moreover, the researcher placed the electrodes in accordance with the 256 HCGSN adult 1.0 montage system, while the signals were recorded relative to a vertex reference electrode (Cz), with AFz as the ground electrode with the electrodes&rsquo; impedance below 50 k&Omega; throughout the experimental procedure, as recommended for the high-input impedance amplifier.
