Children's learning new word-picture pairs during physical exercise in the classroom
<p>This dataset includes memory performance and questionnaire data. In three experiments school aged children performed physical exercises in the classroom while learning new word-picture associations during motion or sitting conditions (repeated measures). The words were in an artificial language. <em>Free recall </em>memory performance was collected from a group of children (aged 8-9 years) in <em>running</em> and sitting conditions (experiment 1). <em>Recognition memory</em> performance was collected from a different group of children (aged 8-9 years) in <em>running</em> and sitting conditions (experiment 2). <em>Recognition memory</em> performance was collected from a different group of children (aged 8-9 years) in <em>stepping</em> and sitting conditions (experiment 3). Experiment 2 showed higher recognition memory performance during the sitting compared to running condition. Gender, English as an additional language (EAL), and whether the children received extra support for language work was recorded before the experiment. A survey after the experiment asked children which condition they preferred. All data were collected by Naomi Kefford in one school in Surrey (UK) during the MSc thesis at the School of Psychology at the University of Surrey. Naomi Kefford was supervised by Peter Klaver. </p>
PsPM-SCRV1: Skin conductance responses to aversive/neutral pictures at different inter trial intervals.
<p>This dataset includes skin conductance response (SCR) measurement, keypress responses and keypress response times to stimuli drawn from the International Affective Picture System for each of 24 healthy unmedicated participants (12 males and 12 females aged 27+/-4.6 years). The experiment used a 2x3 factorial design with the factors picture type (aversive, neutral), and mean ISI (3s, 9s, and 19s).</p> <p>Data are untrimmed. The referenced article used a trimmed version of the data (trim points: 0.5 s before first marker until 20 s after last marker). This detail is not mentioned in the methods section of the paper. </p> <p>See the readme file for more detail. Data are stored as .mat files for use with MATLAB in a format readable by the PsPM toolbox (pspm.sourceforge.net).</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
PsPM-SCRV3: Skin conductance responses to loud sounds and aversive/neutral pictures.
<p>This dataset includes skin conductance response (SCR) measurements, keypress responses and keypress response times to acoustic and visual stimuli for each of 22 healthy unmedicated participants (11 males and 11 females aged 22+/-4.8 years. The auditory stimuli are 1s long white noise bursts at 95dB presented over headphones. Visual stimuli are aversive pictures drawn from the International Affective Picture System. ITI are selected randomly on each trial from 29s, 34s or 39s.</p>

CSV files and R script: writing process data of typed picture description by 15 cognitively impaired patients and 15 healthy controls
<p>Writing process data of 15 cognitively impaired patients and 15 age- and gender-matched healthy controls were obtained. Each of them completed two typed picture description tasks that were logged with Inputlog, a keystroke logging tool. Variables included time on task; number of characters, pauses and Pause-bursts per minute; proportion of pause time; duration of Pause-bursts; and pause time between words. For pause time between words, also the effect of pauses preceeding specific word categories was analyzed.</p> <p>The data were used to explore if the observation of writing behavior can assist in the screening and follow-up of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and mild dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease (AD). This data set contains the CSV files that were used for the analyses and the corresponding R script.</p>
FlavoriaFoodWeight1700: Automated Lunch Line Meal Pictures with Automatic Measurement of Weight and Contents
<p>A dataset of around 2000 pictures consisting of both pictures taken on a lunch line and their measured contents based on the lunch line's automation systems.</p> <p>The pictures were automatically taken and linked to data via RFID tags on each meal tray.</p> <p>The pictures are linkable to CSV meal contents.
