MOKE-microscopy-Skyrmion-dataset

<p>Magnetic skyrmions in thin-film systems are heavily under investigation due to their potential applicability for spintronic applications.</p> <p>An often used imagning techniqe is the magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE-)microscopy. Here we provide approximately 2400 MOKE images of around 30 different thin film measurements, focused on magnetic skyrmions and material defects. The dataset counts more than 1 million skyrmions. Corresponding labels are also provided pixelwise as a 3-class label (Background, skyrmion, defect) for training neural network devices on detection.</p> <p>Own U-Net based pre-trained models are available for direct usage.</p> <p>The corresponding publication is in preparation. Statistics and models used for publication are also included.</p>

Data set for: History-dependent domain and skyrmion formation in 2D van der Waals magnet Fe3GeTe2

<p>This data repository contains the experimental data utilised to produce the figures shown in History-dependent domain and skyrmion formation in 2D van der Waals magnet Fe3GeTe2, by M. T. Birch, L. Powalla, S. Wintz, O. Hovorka, K. Litzius, J. C. Loudon, L. A. Turnbull, V. Nehruji, K. Son, C. Bubeck, T. G. Rauch, M. Weigand, E. Goering, M. Burghard, G. Sch&uuml;tz.</p> <p>Experimental data analysis were performed using Python via Jupyter notebooks, utilising matplotlib, scipy, numpy and h5py libraries. Jupyter notebooks are provided to process some of the experimental data to form the figures shown in the paper.</p> <p><br> Data data is divided into folders:</p> <p>Characterisation_Data - contains EDX, TEM and AFM characterisation of the bulk FGT material and exfoliated flakes.</p> <p>Magnetometry_Data - Includes data files from the MPM3 magnetometry utilised to study the magnetisation of the bulk FGT crystal as a function of temperature and applied magnetic field. The two sub folders divide the files into data acquired with the field applied either parallel to the c axis (OOP - out of plane), or perpendicular to the c axis (IP - in plane).</p> <p>STXM_Data - Contains Scanning Transmission X-ray Microscopy data acquired at the MAXYMUS instrument at the BESSY II synchrotron, Berlin. The data is divided into sections acquired following different sample histories, as reported in the main paper: field sweep, field-cooled and zero-field cooled. Folders containing the extracted skyrmion sizes and stripe domain sizes are included, as well as Python notebooks for plotting Fig. 3, 4 and 5 of the main paper.</p> <p>Spectra_Data - Contains x-ray absorption spectra acquired on a bulk FGT crystal via total electron yield method (Bulk spectra), and spectra acquired on the exfoliated FGT flake by a transmission method (Flake Spectra). The accompanying jupyter notebook demonstrates the plotting and application of XMCD sum rules to the experimental data.</p> <p>LTEM_Data - Contains images acquired via Lorentz Transmission Electron Microscopy of an FGT flake, measured as a function of temperature and applied magnetic field at various tilt angles.</p> <p>Analysis_Scripts - Contains python notebook for plotting the magnetic phase diagrams, and plotting the thickness dependence estimation from the x-ray absorption spectra data.</p> <p>Meanfield_Simulations - Contains the raw output files of the simulations, the .h5 files, and Python notebook plotting scripts. Heads-on skyrmion collisions data set

<p>These are datafiles and code associated with the manuscript &ldquo;Heads-on skyrmion collision&rdquo;.</p> <p>The data files stored here consists on magnetic force microscopy (MFM) data (i.e. images) of a skyrmion hosting thin film. It is divided on folders corresponding to different days of measurement, and also divided by the type of MFM probe used. The format of the files is the proprietary format from NT-MDT.</p> <p>&ldquo;Summary of collisions_V8&rdquo; is a PowerPoint summarizing the data analysis carried out identifying the position of each skyrmion in each of the MFM data files. Dataset for "Edge Defects and Energy Barriers in Skyrmion Monolayers"

<p><em><strong>Dataset for &quot;Edge Defects and Energy Barriers in Skyrmion Monolayers&quot;</strong></em></p> <p>This dataset provides data from a series of atomistic simulations from experiments on the effects of varying the size of defects on a monolayer of Cobalt, where defects of three shapes (square, triangle and bezier) are varied in size, and the effect of the demagnetising interaction viewed.<br> The simulations were performed with the open-source software Fidimag (10.5334/jors.223, 10.5281/zenodo.2650286).</p> <p>The dataset is split into several directories, and the data is either stored in VTK files (which can be opened by a variety of free tools, for e.g. Paraview and MayaVi, TecPlot), and CSV files and NDT files, which can be opened in standard numerical data libraries and software (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, Excel, LibreOffice Calc) or opened in a text editor for viewing directly.</p> <p><strong>energy-barrier-data</strong></p> <p>This folder contains space delimited NDT files which give the energy information history across a set of simulations. This contains 6 folders:<br> squ-nd, tri-nd, bez-nd and squ-wd, tri-wd, bez-wd which correspond to data for the square, triangle and bezier defects, calculated without and with the demagnetising interaction respectively.</p> <p>For the triangle datasets, the files are labelled with the width of the defect. For the square datasets, the files are labelled with the width and height of the defect. For the bezier datasets, the files are labelled with the width, and the height of the control point for a bezier curve.</p> <p>Each row in the data file gives the energy of a set of images in the Nudged Elastic Band Method at a given iteration; thus, the final row is the converged energy data.</p> <p><strong>energy-term-data-triangles</strong></p> <p>This folder contains more detailed energy information calculated for the converged triangle images. These CSV files are labelled with the width of the defect, and &#39;nd&#39; for no demagnetising interaction, and &#39;wd&#39; if the demagnetistaion is present (e.g. &#39;w_0.5_nd.csv&#39; is the file for a width 0.5nm triangular defect with no demagnetising interaction). These files have columns corresponding to the different magnetic energies (Exchange, Anisotropy, DMI, Demagnetising) in Joules for each image in the NEBM calculation, along with the total energy of each state.</p> <p><strong>vtks</strong></p> <p>This folder contains VTK files of some of the states used to create figures. There are six folders&nbsp;<br> * no-defect and no-defect-wd which correspond to the set of images from simulations of the nanostructure with no defect present<br> * squ-5.0_5.0 and squ-wd-5.0_5.0 which are for the sample with a 5.0nm by 5.0nm defect<br> * tri-7.0 and tri-wd-7.0 which are for the sample with a triangular defect of width 7.0nm.</p>

<p>This data repository contains the experimental data utilised to produce the figures shown in the article "Dynamic transition and Galilean relativity of current-driven skyrmions" by Max Birch, Ilya Belopolski, Yukako Fujishiro, Minoru Kawamura, Akiko Kikkawa, Yasujiro Taguchi, Max Hirschberger, Naoto Nagaosa and Yoshinori Tokura.</p> <p>All data are in the typical .dat file format from a Quantum Design PPMS. The data are organised according to each main/extended/supplementary figure in the article. This means that same data files may appear in more than one figure folder. Files are labelled according to which device was measured, with additional information on the sample environment (temperature/field/current etc) included where relevant.</p>
