<p>This dataset contains the input files (main_input and custom_reference_binary), basic simulation info (grid_info, jobinfo.txt, and equation_coefficients) and the last Rayleigh checkpoints for the two cases published in the ApJ Letter, Confinement of the Solar Tachocline by Dynamo Action in the Radiative Interior. The data for each case (the "HD case" and "MHD case" as referred to in the paper) are given in .zip files.</p> <p>NOTE: The MHD case has custom diagnostic outputs and the main_input file (as directly given here) can only be run using Loren Matilsky's personal branch of the code: https://github.com/illorenzo7/Rayleigh/tree/me_prod_subcurv (for full reproducibility, commit fcf1a7b81624a0af7866d52d5b7836549268044e). Otherwise, the MHD case should run using the current main branch of the Rayleigh code (https://github.com/geodynamics/Rayleigh), as long as the custom quantity codes (>2200) are removed.</p>

Dataset: Hourly Solar Radiation at Tilt Angle and Direction in Tel Aviv
<p><span>This dataset is based on hourly month averages of a typical year in Tel Aviv as determined by the Israel Meteorological Service. The results are for every hour for 6 tilt angles and 16 directions.</span></p> <p><span>The dataset is in two parts. The first part contains the global radiation every hour in 6 tilt angles and 16 directions in Tel Aviv, expressed in W/m2.</span></p> <p><span>The second part contains conversion factors from global radiation on the horizontal surface to the selected tilt angle and direction. </span></p> <p><span>The dataset includes 96 tables expressed in W/m2 and 96 tables of conversion factors. Each table contains data for each hour between 5:00 and 19:00 each month, 180 items per table. Total the dataset includes 17,280 conversion factors and the same number of global radiation records in W/m2.</span></p> <p><span>The dataset is available online at nowagreen.com/se.</span></p> <p> </p>

<p>The dataset presneted here are used in "The Mother’s Day solar storm of 11 May 2024 and its effect on<br>Earth’s radiation belts." <br><br>EPT files (ept_protons_x and ept_electrons_x) contain the differential flux observed by the energetic particle telescope (EPT) averaged in L-time bins (0.25L - 6 hours) from May 1st 2024 to June 30th 2024, where L is the McIlwain parameter. This averages are performed for each energy chanel of the EPT (6 for electrons and 10 for protons). Differential fluxes are given in [(s cm² sr MeV)^-1].</p> <p>Similar to the EPT files, the POES files contain electrons and proton fluxes from the MEPED instrument on board MetOp3 averaged on the same grid as the EPT fluxes. In this case proton fluxes are differential fluxes in units of [(s cm² sr keV)^-1] whereas electron fluxes are integral fluxes in units of [(s cm² sr)^-1].</p> <p>GOES file contains the integral proton fluxes observed by GOES from May 1st to June 30th 2024. Proton fluxes are given in [(s cm²)^-1].</p> <p>The nmdb file contains the count rates from ground based neutron monitors retrieved from the neutron monitor database.</p> <p>Note that PROBA-V/EPT data are publicly available on the Space Situational Awareness website of ESA https://swe.ssa.esa.int/space-radiation. The project is a large synthesis effort focused on improving the accessibility and use of long-term data. At present, there are ~50 state and federally funded research sites that are participating and contributing to the EcoTrends project, including all 26 Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) sites and sites funded by the USDA Agriculture Research Service (ARS), USDA Forest Service, US Department of Energy, US Geological Survey (USGS) and numerous universities. Data from the EcoTrends project are available through an exploratory web portal (http://www.ecotrends.info). This web portal enables the continuation of data compilation and accessibility by users through an interactive web application. Ongoing data compilation is updated through both manual and automatic processing as part of the LTER Provenance Aware Synthesis Tracking Architecture (PASTA).
