CALIFA Autoencoded files for interactive Sonification with ViewCube

These files allow the sonification of the CALIFA survey spectra using the software ViewCube.

They provide a collection of files containing the results of a deep learning process based on autoencoders, which reduces the CALIFA spectra to latent vectors, allowing their conversion into sound.

Particle sonification (CERN)

The video present a sonification of particles. The development was grant by the European Union, under the project REINFORCE. The data was obtained during this collaboration from the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).

"The REINFORCE project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 project call H2020-SwafS-2018-2020 funded project Grant Agreement no. 872859"

For more information visit:

www.reinforceeu.eu/

www.zooniverse.org/projects/reinforce/new-particle-search-at-cern

Sonification of the atmospheric carbon record over the Holocene epoch

This piece is part of a collection of sound compositions called Timescales, which sonifies datasets spanning different time scales of the atmospheric carbon record. The Holocene is a geologic epoch which began approximately 11,700 years ago as the last glaciation ended. At the onset of the Holocene, atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations were approximately 265 ppm, and they remained below 280 ppm until the 18th century and the dawn of the industrial revolution. The Holocene composition creates an experience of listening to the stable climate of the Holocene epoch, and hearing the end of the Holocene and the beginning of the Anthropocene.
