Multi-shuttle crane scheduling in automated storage and retrieval systems

The uploaded ".zip"-file contains 6 folders corresponding to the 6 experiments in our working paper "Multi-shuttle crane scheduling in automated storage and retrieval systems".

Each of these folders contains a "results.csv" file with the data from the experiments. All but the last two columns contain information about the solved instance, the second to last column contains the objective value and the last column the runtime.

Then each folder contains ".txt"-files or several folders with ".txt"-files. Each files contains one instance.

Each instance begins with the name of the file in which it is located. Then follows an empty line, a line with the word "VEHICLE" and a new line
"NUMBER OF CAPACITY EMPTYING REQUIREMENTS HIGHEST SPEED LONGEST DISTANCE MAXIMUM DISTANCE". It follows a line containing the following integers: the number of vehicles, the capacity of all vehicles, the number of empty slots, the total number of requests, the speed in x dimension, the speed in y dimension, and an upper limit for the maximum distance between the I/O point and each slot.
Next follows a line with the text "CUSTOMER" and then a line with the text "CUSTOMER NUMBER". XCOORD. YCOORD."
This is followed by lines each containing a relevant slot. Each entry begins with a number that counts the entries, followed by the x-coordinate and then the y-coordinate. The first entry has the number 0 and is the I/O point. Then the customer locations follow, and then we start the restart the numbering at 1 for the following requests.

Viet Nam Technology catalogue for power generation and storage. Input for power system modelling

The first Viet Nam Technology Catalogue was published in 2019. This new version includes all the technologies from the 2019 version that have been reviewed and updated where necessary. A main focus of the update has been to add new subcategories of technologies (roof-top solar PV, floating offshore wind, low wind speed turbines, improved flexibility of coal fired plants and pollution prevention technologies for coal power) as well as completely new technology descriptions and data sheets (tidal power, wave power, carbon capture and storage, coal CFB boilers and industrial cogeneration).

This publication is developed under the Danish-Vietnamese Energy Partnership.

The technologies described in this catalogue cover both very mature technologies and emerging technologies, which
are expected to improve significantly over the coming decades, both with respect to performance and cost. This
implies that the cost and performance of some technologies may be estimated with a rather high level of certainty
whereas, in the case of other technologies, both cost and performance today and in the future is associated with a
high level of uncertainty. All technologies have been grouped within one of four categories of technological
development described in the section on research and development indicating their technological progress, their
future development perspectives and the uncertainty related to the projection of cost and performance data.

The technologies in the catalogue include the power production unit and the connection to the grid. This means
that the boundary for both cost and performance data are the generation assets plus the infrastructure required to
deliver the energy to the main grid. For electricity, this is the nearest substation of the transmission grid. This
implies that a MW of electricity represents the net electricity delivered, i.e. the gross generation minus the auxiliary
electricity consumed at the plant. Hence, efficiencies are also net efficiencies.

The text and data have been edited based on Vietnamese cases to represent local conditions. For the mid- and long-
term future (2030 and 2050) international references have been relied upon for most technologies since Vietnamese
data is expected to converge to these international values. In the short run differences may exist, especially for the
emerging technologies. Differences in the short run can be caused by e.g. current rules and regulations and level of
market maturity of the technology. Differences in both the short and long run can be caused by local physical
conditions, e.g. seabed material and offshore conditions can affect costs of offshore wind farms and wind speed can
affect the dimensioning of rotor vs. generator which can influence the cost, or domestic coal quality can affect
efficiency and variable cost of coal-fired plants as well.

Land use is assessed but the cost of land is not included in the total cost assessment since this depends on local
conditions.

Effects of habitat types on the dynamic changes of allocation in carbon and nitrogen storage of vegetation-soil system in sandy grasslands

The progressive restoration of degraded vegetation in semiarid and arid desertified areas undoubtedly formed different habitat types. The most plants regulate their growth by fixing carbon with their energy deriving from photosynthesis, carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) play the crucial role in regulating plant growth, community structure and function in the vegetation restoration progress. However, it is still unclear how habitat types affect the dynamic changes of allocation in C and N storage of vegetation-soil system in sandy grasslands. Here, we investigated plant community characteristics and soil properties across three successional stages of habitat types: semi-fixed dunes (SFD), fixed dunes (FD) and grasslands (G) in 2011, 2013 and 2015. We also examined the C and N concentrations of vegetation-soil system, and estimated their C and N storage. The C and N storage of vegetation system, soil and vegetation-soil system remarkably increased from SFD to G. The litter C and N storage in SFD, N storage of vegetation system in SFD and N storage of soil and vegetation-soil system in FD increased from 2011 to 2015, while aboveground plant C and N storage of FD were higher in 2011 than in 2013 and 2015. Most of C and N were sequestered in soil in the vegetation restoration progress. These results suggest that the dynamic changes of allocation in C and N storage in vegetation-soil systems varied with habitat types. Our study highlights that SFD has higher N sequestration rate in vegetation, while FD has the considerably N sequestration rate in the soil.

Effects of hot-wet storage aging, CNT-integration and damping layer interposition on static and fatigue interlaminar shear response of a UD Graphite/Epoxy material system

The present work aims at experimental quantification of the effect of hot-wet storage aging on the static and
fatigue interlaminar shear response of three UD Graphite-Epoxy based material systems: a control laminate, a
CNT-treated laminate and a lamination including an embedded damping veil. In this context, specimens have
been fabricated and tested for determination of the interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) according to the relevant
ASTM standard, and the effects of the above mentioned constituents on the response of non-aged (RT) and aged
(HW) specimens have been investigated. The experimental data, presented in batch mode, indicated that aging
leads to severe degradation of the interlaminar shear strength and relevant fatigue endurance of all material
systems, whereas the CNT-treated laminate appeared to be the most sensitive configuration. In the case of nonaged specimens, CNT-treatment led to larger failure strains and a clear bilinear response, while all three material
systems exhibited similar values of interlaminar shear strength.

Data from: The size advantage model of sex allocation in the protandrous sex-changer Crepidula fornicata: role of the mating system, sperm storage, and male mobility
Sequential hermaphroditism is adaptive when the reproductive value of an individual varies with size or age, and this relationship differs between males and females. In this case, theory shows that the lifetime reproductive output of an individual is increased by changing sex (a hypothesis referred to as the size-advantage model). Sex-linked differences in size-fitness curves can stem from differential costs of reproduction, the mating system, and differences in growth and mortality between sexes. Detailed empirical data is required to disentangle the relative roles of each of these factors within the theory. Quantitative data are also needed to explore the role of sperm storage, which has not yet been considered with sequential hermaphrodites. Using experimental rearing and paternity assignment, we report relationships between size and reproductive success of Crepidula fornicata, a protandrous (male-first) gastropod. Male reproductive success increased with size due to the polygamous system and stacking behavior of the species, but females nonetheless had greater reproductive success than males of the same size, in agreement with the size-advantage theory. Sperm storage appeared to be a critical determinant of success for both sexes, and modeling the effect of sperm storage showed that it could potentially accelerate sex change in protandrous species.
