The International Women's Tribunal

Twenty years ago, the Women's International War Crimes Tribunal on Japan's Military Sexual Slavery took place in Tokyo, Japan. This documentary commemorates the anniversary by acknowledging the Tribunal as a significant landmark and exploring its legacy. The documentary is a reminder of the collective shame on the part of states that to this day have done little to deliver justice. But it is also a story of when women, confronted by the catastrophic failure on the part of states to secure a gender just peace, took action. It is a model of what is possible when international law is applied through a gender lens and the transformative potential of international law.

Subtyping of common complex diseases and disorders by integrating heterogeneous data. Identifying clusters among women with lower urinary tract symptoms in the LURN study

We present a methodology for subtyping of persons with a common clinical symptom complex by integrating heterogeneous continuous and categorical data. We illustrate it by clustering women with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), who represent a heterogeneous cohort with overlapping symptoms and multifactorial etiology. Data collected in the Symptoms of Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction Research Network (LURN), a multi-center observational study, included self-reported urinary and non-urinary symptoms, bladder diaries, and physical examination data for 545 women. Heterogeneity in these multidimensional data required thorough and non-trivial preprocessing, including scaling by controls and weighting to mitigate data redundancy, while the various data types (continuous and categorical) required novel methodology using a weighted Tanimoto indices approach. Data domains only available on a subset of the cohort were integrated using a semi-supervised clustering approach. Novel contrast criterion for determination of the optimal number of clusters in consensus clustering was introduced and compared with existing criteria. Distinctiveness of the clusters was confirmed by using multiple criteria for cluster quality, and by testing for significantly different variables in pairwise comparisons of the clusters. Cluster dynamics were explored by analyzing longitudinal data at 3- and 12-month follow-up. Five clusters of women with LUTS were identified using the developed methodology. None of the clusters could be characterized by a single symptom, but rather by a distinct combination of symptoms with various levels of severity. Targeted proteomics of serum samples demonstrated that differentially abundant proteins and affected pathways are different across the clusters. The clinical relevance of the identified clusters is discussed and compared with the current conventional approaches to the evaluation of LUTS patients. The rationale and thought process are described for the selection of procedures for data preprocessing, clustering, and cluster evaluation. Suggestions are provided for minimum reporting requirements in publications utilizing clustering methodology with multiple heterogeneous data domains.

A topic modelling application for violence against the women through text mining techniques

This research was focused on a social problem that affects worldwide. Violence Against Women (VAW) and girls occurs in many forms with different levels of aggressiveness. There is a wide amount of data on the internet about real cases of VAW that can be gathered for further study. Many researchers have done studies on structured data sets which facilitates their manipulation and understanding. But in this work digital news (data source large non-structured text) was used.

These are the data used for the development of the investigation. This file was extracted from our mongoDB database. Economic Factors Influencing the Empowerment of Peruvian Women

Objective: To determine whether economic factors are crucial in empowering women, guiding them towards growth and development opportunities, achieving empowerment, and contributing to two sustainable development goals of the 2030 development agenda: ending poverty and achieving gender equality.

Methodology: The research was foundational, with a phenomenological and hermeneutic design. The applied technique was in-depth interviews with 12 women who had started a business within the last five years in a region of Peru.

Results: It is evident that economic factors are decisive in business experiences and decisions, highlighting the necessity of having contingency funds to prevent operational impacts. Through entrepreneurship, women achieved economic independence, enabling them to support their families and impacting their empowerment. It concludes that to promote economic opportunity equality, addressing financing needs, encouraging economic independence, strengthening family empowerment, improving customer management, and facilitating access to government funds are essential.

Conclusions: The narrative of the participants provides a solid foundation for designing specific policies and support programs that boost the economic empowerment of women entrepreneurs and encourage their active participation in the business sphere.

Palabras clave: Women's Empowerment; Financial Capacity; Legal Framework; Economic Independence; Potential Customers; Access to Financing.

BRAIN Journal-Automatic Anthropometric System Development Using Machine Learning-Figure7. Model 3D of women body.

In two cases, using the SVM classifier and Random Forest with trees 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 datasets before and after optimization commented as follows: the running time of Random Forest is greater comparing with SVM, because more trees are generated, many cases will be considered. In particular, increasing the number of trees, while labeling is long, but Random Forest provides higher accuracy SVM. Based on anthropometric features and machine learning algorithms, we have built an Android app in the smartphone environment. This app can automatically extrac tanthropometric features (12 features). The user must stand in front of the smartphone camera and takes 2 pictures. Then input their height (centimeters) for calibration. The application automatically extracts human parameters to enable adequate 3D models reconstruction. The results of the Android application are demonstrated in figure 7 .
