FIGURE 32. Ecoregional threat levels and all collection localities. Based on Olson et al. (2001): GREEN=relatively stable or intact, YELLOW=vulnerable, and RED=critical or endangered. Localities are given as black circles. Overall, the deserts are relatively well-protected, though the Chihuahuan Desert less so. The areas where A. (Micranthophora) will be most affected appear to be coastal and central California, at higher latitudes in general, and Central Mexico into Central America (exclusively inhabited by A. squammulosa). Species-specific details are available in the species accounts and the conservation section of the discussion.
