Tracing pathways from high-resolution tractography, transcription, and temporal dimensions
<p>The neural circuits supporting human cognition are topics of enduring interest. The lack of tools available to map circuits has precluded our ability to trace the evolution of the human connectome. We harnessed high-resolution connectomic, anatomic, and transcriptomic data to develop enhanced tools to test for modifications in developmental programs across species. We found corresponding ages across species and transcriptionally define neurons with stereotypical projections in humans and macaques. We used these data to test for modifications in frontal cortex circuit. Frontal cortex circuitry development is extended in primates, which is concomitant with an expansion in cortico-cortical pathways compared with mice in adulthood. These parameters varied little across humans and macaques. We identify a collection of conserved features in frontal cortex circuits in studied primates. We demonstrate that the integration of transcriptional and connectomic data across temporal dimensions is a robust approach to trace the evolution of connections in primates. This dataset contains scripts as well as diffusion MR scans of mouse brains.</p>
Normative behavioral data from the novel One Trail Trace escape reaction task (OTTER)
<p><span>We designed a behavioral task where rats learn to associate two temporally distinct but close-in-time events by means of incidental one-trial learning. </span><span>The task takes advantage of two competing motivations - to avoid light places and to avoid painful stimuli (foot shock) predicted by an acoustic signal. Motivation to avoid a bright light is constant throughout the experiment and is manifested by rats preferring a dark compartment in a light/dark shuttle box. Motivation to stay in the dark is overridden (1) during the training session: when foot-shock (US) (preceded by the acoustic stimulus (CS)) is presented; and (2) during the testing session: when CS, that predicts US, is presented. The latter case occurs when rats successfully form an association between CS and US in the training session and the rat escapes into the light compartment ('responders'). The rats that do not escape ('non-responders' appear to lack this memory as even non-specific fear response (freezing) was absent.</span></p> <p><span>Generally, >50% of rats escape into the lit compartments following CS on the testing day. Importantly, rats do not show a contextual association measured by freezing behavior and preference for a light compartment on the testing day. Moreover, we observed that several putative details in the setup affect the probability of the successful formation of a one-trial trace association. </span><span>Compared to similar tasks, the OTTER task tests incidental learning with no requirement for pre-training. Moreover, the memory formed in the OTTER task consists of two events that do not overlap in time: a characteristic of many episodic memories. The OTTER task presents high-throughput means to study neuronal substrates of incidental temporal binding.</span></p> <p><span></span></p>

<p>In an era of rapid environmental change and increasing human presence, researchers need efficient tools for tracking contaminants to monitor the health of Antarctic flora and fauna. Here, we examined the utility of leopard seal whiskers as a biomonitoring tool that reconstructs time-series of significant ecological and physiological biomarkers. Leopard seals (<em>Hydrurga leptonyx</em>) are a sentinel species in the Western Antarctic Peninsula due to their apex predator status and top-down effects on several Antarctic species. However, there are few data on their contaminant loads. We analyzed leopard seal whiskers (n = 18 individuals, n = 981 segments) collected during 2018–2019 field seasons to acquire longitudinal profiles of non-essential (Hg, Pb, and Cd) and essential (Se, Cu, and Zn) trace elements, stable isotope (ẟ<sub>15</sub>N and ẟ<sub>13</sub>C) values and to assess Hg risk with Se:Hg molar ratios. Whiskers provided between 46 and 286 cumulative days of growth with a mean ~125 days per whisker (n = 18). Adult whiskers showed variability in non-essential trace elements over time that could partly be explained by changes in diet. Whisker Hg levels were insufficient (<20 ppm) to consider most seals being at "high" risk for Hg toxicity. Nevertheless, maximum Hg concentrations observed in this study were greater than that of leopard seal hair measured two decades ago. However, variation in the Se:Hg molar ratios over time suggest that Se may detoxify Hg burden in leopard seals. Overall, we provide evidence that the analysis of leopard seal whiskers allows for the reconstruction of time-series ecological and physiological data and can be valuable for opportunistically monitoring the health of the leopard seal population and their Antarctic ecosystem during climate change.</p>

Unlike a quasi three-dimensional environment, it supports ray tracing in full three dimension.</p> <p>This data set contains propagation modelling results of the TERAWAY link. Memory Traces for the CXL-flash Simulator
<p>This dataset contains memory trace files (*.trace) for various synthetic workloads and real-world workloads.</p> <p>We utilize <a href="https://github.com/dgist-datalab/trace_generator.git">Trace Generator</a> to collect traces for these workloads and translate them into *.trace files</p> <p>We collected these traces on a machine with an Intel i7-9700 CPU and 32GB DDR4 DRAM Memory.
