52-COLOR ASTEROID SURVEY
This data set contains 52-color IR data of asteroids, taken using a double circularly variable filter. The short wavelength portion of the CVF covered the octave from 0.8 to 1.6 microns with 3 percent resolution, while the long wavelength portion covered 1.5 to 2.6 microns with 5 percent resolution. Most of the data are unpublished other than in this PDS data set.
MOTHE-DINIZ ASTEROID DYNAMICAL FAMILIES V1.1
This dataset contains an updated compilation of asteroid families and clusters, resulting from the application of the Hierarchical Clustering Method (HCM) on a set of around 120,000 asteroids with available proper elements. Whenever available, the classification in the Bus taxonomy is provided for family members, based on spectra from the SMASS, SMASS2 and S3OS2 spectroscopic surveys.
ASTEROID NAMES AND DISCOVERY V3.0
This data set includes names, designations, and discovery circumstances for the numbered asteroids, sorted in order of catalog number.
ASTEROID RADAR V11.0
This data set is intended to include all published groundbased asteroid radar detections. The entries were collected by Steven J. Ostro, and selected data have been collected from the published literature.
ASTEROID TAXONOMY V3.0
This dataset provides taxonomic classifications of asteroids in each of five different systems: Tholen (1984, 1989) [THOLEN1984, THOLEN1989] et al. (1989) [TEDESCOETAL1989] [HOWELLETAL1994], and Xu et al. (1995) [XUETAL1995].
ASTEROID ALBEDOS
This data set comprises a compilation of asteroid albedos for the convenience of the user. Most but not all of the albedos compiled here also appear in other PDS data sets.
ASTEROID SPIN VECTOR COMPILATION V5.0
This is a comprehensive tabulation of asteroid spin vector determinations, compiled by Agnieszka Kryszczynska and based on the earlier compilation by Per Magnusson. This is the Oct. 21, 2007 version of the compilation, containing 863 spin vector determinations.
REDDY MAIN BELT ASTEROID SPECTRA V1.0
This data set contains low-resolution (R~150) near-infrared (0.7-2.5 microns) spectra of 90 main belt asteroids observed with the SpeX instrument on the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility (IRTF) on Mauna Kea, Hawai'i. This data set archives reduced, calibrated spectra of targets of opportunity observed from 2001 to 2012.
HIGH-INCLINATION ASTEROID FAMILIES V1.0
This data set contains the high-inclination asteroid families of Gil-Hutton (2006). A data set of 3652 high-inclination numbered asteroids was analyzed to search for dynamical families. The basic data set was the list of 3697 asteroid synthetic proper elements taken from the Asteroid Dynamic Site, March 2005 version; Knezevic and Milani (2000). For this analysis, only asteroids with sine of proper inclination greater than 0.3 were used.
SMALL MAIN-BELT ASTEROID SPECTROSCOPIC SURVEY, PHASE II
This data set contains visible-wavelength (0.435-0.925 micron) spectra for 1341 main-belt asteroids observed during the second phase of the Small Main-belt Asteroid Spectroscopic Survey (SMASSII) between August 1993 and March 1999. The purpose of the SMASSII survey was to provide a new basis for studying the compositional diversity and structure of the asteroid belt. Based on experiences gained from the earlier SMASS survey, SMASSII focused on producing an even larger, internally consistent set of CCD spectra for small (D < 20 km) main-belt asteroids. The observing strategies and procedures used during SMASSII roughly parallel those used in the first survey (Xu et al. Icarus 115 1-35, 1995 [XUETAL1995]), though several minor changes were made in instrumentation and in portions of the data reduction process.
ASTEROID ABSOLUTE MAGNITUDES V10.0
Absolute magnitudes and slopes, mostly IAU-adopted with exceptions noted, for all asteroids numbered as of the 2006 March 14 batch of Minor Planet Circulars.
TRIAD ASTEROID POLARIMETRY V1.0
This data set contains the data originally archived in TRIAD and reported in Asteroids (T. Gehrels, Ed., The University of Arizona Press, 1979). It tabulates the reduced values of the polarization curves of the asteroids, namely minimum polarization, inversion angle, and polarimetric slope.
ASTEROID NAMES AND DISCOVERY V8.0
This data set includes names, designations, and discovery circumstances for the asteroids numbered as of April 18, 2004.
52 COLOR ASTEROID SURVEY V1.0
The observations were made using a double CVF (circularly variable filter). The short wavelength portion of the CVF covered the octave from 0.8 to 1.6 microns with 3 percent resolution, while the long wavelength portion covered 1.5 to 2.6 microns with 5 percent resolution. There is some overlap in the spectral coverage between 1.5 and 1.6 microns, which is evident as a discontinuity in the wavelengths after the first 32 values, which were obtained with the short wavelength portion, while the remaining 20 values were obtained with the long wavelength portion.
ASTEROID POLARIMETRIC DATABASE V8.0
The Asteroid Polarimetric Database (APD) is a collection of asteroid polarimetry results compiled by D.F. Lupishko of Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ukraine. It is intended to include most asteroid polarimetry available through Feb. 10, 2014.
ASTEROID TAXONOMY V5.0
This data set is a collection of asteroid taxonomic classifications from various classification methods, collected from the literature.
NESVORNY HCM ASTEROID FAMILIES V3.0
This data set contains asteroid dynamical family memberships for 122 families calculated from synthetic proper elements, including high-inclination families. These families were calculated by David Nesvorny (Nesvorny et al. 2015) using his code based on the Hierarchical Clustering Method (HCM) described in Zappala et al. (1990, 1994). The input synthetic proper elements for 384,337 numbered asteroids were calculated by Knezevic and Milani.
EIGHT COLOR ASTEROID SURVEY PRIMARY DATA V1.0
The eight color asteroid survey provides reflection spectra for minor planets using eight filter passbands. This dataset includes the primary data obtained for 589 minor planets. The mean values for each minor planet included in the survey, the response curves for the filters, and the values determined for standard stars, are included in other related datasets. The wavelength range covered is from .33 to 1.04 micrometers.
ASTEROID OCCULTATIONS V4.0
This data set is intended to include all reported timings of observed asteroid occultation events through Apr. 11, 2006, as well as asteroid occultation axes derived from those timings by David W. Dunham and David Herald. Some occultations by planetary satellites are also included.
IRTF NEAR-IR SPECTROSCOPY OF ASTEROIDS V2.0
This data set contains low-resolution, near-infrared (0.8 - 2.5 micron) spectra of asteroids obtained with SpeX at the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility (IRTF) on Mauna Kea. Since it was commissioned in June 2000, SpeX has been the premier instrument for producing high quality near-IR spectra of asteroids. These spectra have been used for both taxonomic studies of asteroids, and for more detailed mineralogical and compositional investigations. This data set archives the reduced, calibrated spectra that have been published in the peer-reviewed literature, and will be regularly updated as more data become publicly available.
