Distribution. NW Madgascar, found discontinuously in the coast S of the Manambolo River, from where the distribution swings inland to the uplands before touching the coast again N and E of the Mahavavy River; reports of the Crowned Sifaka as far S as the Sakay River, as far E to Andanotongo, and SE beyond Tsiroanomandidy suggest that its distribution is more complicated than originally believed. Decken's (PF. deckeniz) and Crowned sifakas are often found in the same areas, although the Crowned Sifaka tends to be found further inland than the more coastal Decken's Sifaka. Nesokia is sister to Bandicota and are nested in Rattus phylogenetically, making Rat- tus paraphyletic. Tarsomys, Limnomys, and Diplothrix are also phylogenetically in Rat- tus, and the clade is in need of focused re- vision at the generic level. Nesokia bunnui was originally described as a separate ge-nus, Erythronesokia, because it is morphologically very distinctive from N. indica. Type specimen was destroyed during the Iraq War, and a neotype was recently designated to replace it. Monotypic. Distribution. Tigris and Euphrates river valleys, SE Iraq. Descriptive notes. Head—body 230-260 mm, tail 205-270 mm, ear 18-21 mm, hindfoot 49-58 mm; weight 519 g. The Long-tailed Bandicoot Rat is larger than the Short-tailed Bandicoot Rat (N. indica). Pelage is soft and woolly, interspersed with harsher coarse hair and long black hairs near mid-back. Dorsum is fawn to ocherous red, washed with purple or chestnuton darker individuals. Hairs are basally slate-gray and distally rufous, occasionally with whitish or black tips. Muzzle is drab. Sides arefawn, with gray edge toward venter. Venteris whitish, extending onto cheeks where the same pattern from gray to fawn to dorsal pelage occurs. Feet are large and robust, being light brown and well-furred dorsally. Claws are amber on forefeet and dull brown on hindfeet; pollux is extremely small. Ears are moderately long and brownish, with no hair internally. Tail is ¢.82-104% of head-body length and deep brownish drab, interspersed with visible white hair. Skull is large and robust, similarly to the Short-tailed Bandicoot Rat. Habitat. Marsh and swamp land. Food and Feeding. No information. Breeding. No information. Activity patterns. The Long-tailed Bandicoot Rat is terrestrial, although it isfound in swampy and marshy areas and is probably amphibious. Movements, Home range and Social organization. No information. Status and Conservation. Classified as Endangered on The IUCN Red List. The Longtailed Bandicoot Rat is apparently rare and is known from very few specimens. Marsh and swamp habitats in which it is found were completely destroyed during the Iraq War by draining, war damage, and agricultural expansion. In recent years, flooding from Tigris and Euphrates rivers and high snow fall and melt haveresulted in partial restoration ofits native habitat, although restoration is not a complete. Populations are now probably highly fragmented. Bibliography. Al-Ansari et al. (2012), Al-Robaae & Felten (1990), Khajuria (1981), Krystufek et al. Separator by Red River

Straw racks in Red River Special steel separators with 15 bar cylinders, built prior to 1925, consisted of five shakers. The first four shakers were carried and driven by the Brady shaker carriers on the inside of the separator. Those shaker carriers were carried by four wooden, hangers pivoted at the top. Two wooden hangers attached to the sides of each of the four shakers of the rack and pivoted from the top. Those hangers were on the inside of the separator and moved close to the sides of the separator. When the carriers moved ahead and back, the arms attached to the sides of the shakers and pivoted at the top, produced the up and down movement of the shakers. The last shaker was carried by four hangers on the outside of the separator and driven by two short pitmans from the shaker carriers. https://www.farmcollector.com/steam-traction/the-nichols-and-shepard-excello-separator-and-the-reason-for-building-it from 108 images Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

MUSDB18 - a corpus for music separation

<p>The sigsep musdb18 data set consists of a total of 150 full-track songs of different styles and includes both the stereo mixtures and the original sources, divided between a training subset and a test subset.</p> <p>Its purpose is to serve as a reference database for the design and the evaluation of source separation algorithms. The objective of such signal processing methods is to estimate one or more sources from a set of mixtures, e.g. for karaoke applications. It has been used as the official dataset in the professionally-produced music recordings task for SiSEC 2018, which is the international campaign for the evaluation of source separation algorithms.</p> <p><em>musdb18</em> contains two folders, a folder with a training set: &ldquo;train&rdquo;, composed of 100 songs, and a folder with a test set: &ldquo;test&rdquo;, composed of 50 songs. Supervised approaches should be trained on the training set and tested on both sets.</p> <p>All files from the <em>musdb18</em> dataset are encoded in the Native Instruments stems format (.mp4). It is a multitrack format composed of 5 stereo streams, each one encoded in AAC @256kbps. These signals correspond to:</p> <ul> <li>0 - The mixture,</li> <li>1 - The drums,</li> <li>2 - The bass,</li> <li>3 - The rest of the accompaniment,</li> <li>4 - The vocals.</li> </ul> <p>For each file, the mixture correspond to the sum of all the signals. All signals are stereophonic and encoded at 44.1kHz.</p> <p>As the <em>MUSDB18</em> is encoded as STEMS, it relies on ffmpeg to read the multi-stream files. We provide a python wrapper called stempeg that allows to easily parse the dataset and decode the stem tracks on-the-fly.</p> <p><strong>License</strong></p> <p>MUSDB18 is provided for educational purposes only and the material contained in them should not be used for any commercial purpose without the express permission of the copyright holders:</p> <ul> <li>100 tracks were derived from The &lsquo;Mixing Secrets&rsquo; Free Multitrack Download Library. Data from: Phylogenomic inference and demographic model selection suggest peripatric separation of the cryptic steppe ant species Plagiolepis pyrenaica stat. rev.

<p>The ant <em>Plagiolepis taurica</em> Santschi, 1920 (Hymenoptera, Formicidae) is a typical species of the Eurasian steppes, a large grassland-dominated biome that stretches continuously from Central Asia to Eastern Europe and is represented by disjunct outposts also in Central and Western Europe. The extent of this biome has been influenced by the Pleistocene climate, and steppes expanded recurrently during cold stages and contracted in warm stages. Consequently, stenotopic steppe species such as <em>P. taurica</em> repeatedly went through periods of demographic expansion and severe isolation. Here, we explore the impact of these dynamics on the genetic diversification within <em>P. taurica</em>. Delimitation of <em>P. taurica</em> from other Plagiolepis species has been unclear since its initial description, which raised questions on both its classification and its spatiotemporal diversification early on. We re‐evaluate species limits and explore underlying mechanisms driving speciation by using an integrative approach based on genomic and morphometric data. We found large intraspecific divergence within <em>P. taurica</em> and resolved geographically coherent western and eastern genetic groups, which likewise differed morphologically. A morphometric survey of type material showed that Plagiolepis from the western group were more similar to <em>P. barbara</em> pyrenaica Emery, 1921 than to <em>P. taurica</em>; we thus lift the former from synonymy and establish it as separate species, <em>P. pyrenaica</em> stat. rev. Explicit evolutionary model testing based on genomic data supported a peripatric speciation for the species pair, probably as a consequence of steppe contraction and isolation during the mid‐Pleistocene. We speculate that this scenario could be exemplary for many stenotopic steppe species, given the emphasized dynamics of Eurasian steppes.</p>

Selective adsorption of CO2 in TAMOF-1 for the separation of CO2/CH4 gas mixtures

<p>Additional raw data files for manuscript "Selective adsorption of CO2 in TAMOF-1 for the separation of CO2/CH4 gas mixtures" by&nbsp;</p> <p>Santiago Capelo-Avil&eacute;s,&dagger;a,b Mabel de Fez-Febr&eacute;,&dagger;&Dagger;a,b Salvador R. G. Thanks to its high porosity and homochirality, TAMOF-1 has shown interesting molecular recognition properties, being able to resolve racemic mixtures of small organic molecules in liquid solution. Now, we have discovered that TAMOF-1 also offers outstanding performance as solid adsorbent for CO2 physisorption, offering record CO2 adsorption capacity (&gt; 3 mmol g&ndash;1) with excellent CO2/CH4 selectivity (&gt; 50). We have identify the key interactions of CO2 within the TAMOF-1 framework by a combination of structural (neutron diffraction), spectroscopic and theoretical analyses which conclude a dual-site adsorption mechanism with the majority of adsorbed CO2 molecules occupying the empty voids in the TAMOF-1 channels without strong, directional supramolecular interactions. This dominant very weak binding opens the unique possibility of low energy regeneration process for convenient CO2 purification, since it can be recovered at very high purity in just ione step at ambient, mild conditions. These features identify TAMOF-1 as a viable solid-state adsorbent for the realization of low-cost biogas upgrading.</p> <div> <p>a.Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ-CERCA), The Barcelona Institut of Science and Technology (BIST), Av.
