Barningham Moor 6 (Nov 2006)
Ground level boulder found 5 metres W of Woodclose Gill in the Scale Knoll Allotment area of Barningham Moor, County Durham. This elongated panel is a scheduled monument and referenced 13a in Beckensall & Laurie's 1998 publication, 'Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale'. It was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008 as 'Barningham Moor 6'. Design consists of cups enclosed by grooves and a cup with an irregular ring. Tooling marks can still be seen in some of the motifs. The cup and ring towards the west is usually turf covered and is in a particularly good state of preservation. Presumably, it went to ground shortly after being carved. Dataset of Denmark Strait Mooring Array 2014/15
<p><strong>Data from Denmark Strait mooring array 2014/15 as used and described in Moritz et al. 2019: "Mesoscale Eddies observed at the Denmark Strait Sill" (submitted to JGR Oceans May 2019).</strong></p> <p>The mooring array deployed in 2014/15 consisted of five current meters labeled DS1, DS20, DS2, DS21, DS22. DS1 and DS2 are the long-term moorings maintained by the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute (MFRI), Reykjavik, Iceland, and the University of Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany, respectively. Both consist of an upward-looking ADCP mounted within a floatation body, additionally equipped with a SeaBird MicroCAT SBE 37 below the ADCP, providing temperature and salinity information. For the experiment in 2014/15 DS20 had the same design and was positioned between DS1 and DS2. Further west, an ADCP and a MicroCAT were deployed as DS21 in a bottom mounted trawl proof frame. Mooring DS22 had an Aanderaa RCM8 and a MicroCAT and completed the array on the Greenlandic shelf.</p> <p>From the ADCPs we obtained vertical velocity profiles spanning 400 m. The RCM performed single-point measurements at a height of 22 m above the bottom. The five moorings were separated by 5 to 10 km, thus spanning approximately 30 km from the deepest point of the passage towards the Greenlandic shelf. The temporal resolution of our data set is hourly and covers 300 days.</p> <p>The data were processed, quality controlled and corrected. The correction of the data took into account a low velocity bias that affected the measurements of the Long Ranger ADCPs. The coordinate system was rotated such that the v-component is oriented along the mean flow direction and the u-component across the mean flow. Positive v is upstream (northeastward) and negative v is directed downstream (southwestward). IOCAS Western Pacific Moored Current Meter Observation Dataset
<p>This dataset contains current meter measurements from ICOAS mooring array in the Western Pacific. The current meters were deployed on moorings at 130°E meridian on 8.5°N, 11°N, 12.5°N, 15°N. The temporal resolution is monthly for 8.5°N mooring and annually for others.</p>
MASCS 1.0: Synchronous atmospheric and oceanic data from a cross-shaped moored array in the northern South China Sea during 2014–2015
<p>This work presents a cross-shaped moored array dataset (MASCS 1.0) comprising five buoys and four moorings with synchronous atmospheric and oceanic data in the northern South China Sea during 2014–2015. The atmospheric data are observed by two meteorological instruments at the buoys. The oceanic data consist of sea surface waves measured using a wave recorder, temperature, and salinity from the surface to a depth of 400 m, and at 10 and 50 m above the ocean bottom using conductivity, temperature, and depth recorders. It also includes currents from the surface to a depth of 850 m measured using acoustic Doppler current profilers and measured at 10, 50, and 100 m above the floor using current meters. Additional measurements were taken for sea surface radiation, air visibility, chlorophyll, turbidity, and chromophoric dissolved organic matter at buoy 3, located at the center of the moored array. The data reveals air–sea interactions and oceanic processes in the upper and bottom ocean, especially the transition of the air–sea interface and ocean conditions from summer to winter monsoon and the effects of six tropical cyclones on the moored array. Multiscale processes were also recorded, such as air–sea fluxes, tides, internal waves, and low-frequency flows. The data are valuable and have many potential applications, including analyzing the phenomena and mechanisms of air–sea interactions and ocean dynamics and validating and improving numerical model simulations, data reanalysis, and assimilations.</p>

Biogeochemical data of sinking particulate matter collected by sediment traps at E2M3A mooring (2013-2020) in the Southern Adriatic Sea
<p>The dataset presented (NetCDF format), includes sediment trap derived fluxes (total mass, POC, CaCO<sub>3</sub>, bSiO<sub>2</sub>) at ~1200 m depth from the E2M3A deep-sea mooring in the center of the Southern Adriatic Sea in the period from December 2013 to September 2020. The E2M3A observatory is positioned in the centre of the cyclonic gyre where deep convection process takes place, involving both the atmosphere and the ocean dynamics and forming new dense and oxygenated waters, thus triggering the biological pump. The E2M3A mooring is included in the southern Adriatic regional facilities of EMSO-ERIC consortium managed from OGS Trieste and CNR-ISP. Sediment traps, positioned at two levels (below the photic layer at -120m and near the bottom at -1050m), allow the understanding of the processes responsible for the high-frequency and interannual variability of new production and of phytoplankton biomass. Total mass fluxes (TMF) measured at the shallower trap were generally lower that those measured at the bottom trap, ranging from 16 to 706 mg m<sup>-2</sup> d<sup>-1</sup>, with a time-weighted average of 133 mg m<sup>-2</sup> d<sup>-1</sup>, whereas at the bottom trap TMF varied from 33 to 885 mg m<sup>-2</sup> d<sup>-1</sup>, with a time-weighted average of 190 mg m<sup>-2</sup> d<sup>-1</sup>. The organic carbon flux, followed the same seasonal trend, with higher values below the photic zone, varying from 1.7 to 31.9 mg m<sup>-2</sup> d<sup>-1</sup>, with a mean of 5.8 mg m<sup>-2</sup> d<sup>-1</sup> at the shallow trap.</p>

Mooring Tests Data
<p>The shared folder contains the laboratory test data for the mooring lines. It includes the configurations carried out for the two types of lines: ALL-CHAIN configuration (regular, irregular and tension-deformation subfolders) and CHAIN-NYLON configuration (regular and tension-deformation subfolders). It also contains a “readme” file as a schematic explanation of the data. </p> <p>This data are an open experimental database for numerical modelling and future research. The context of this data is within the “corewind” project (D5.4). For further information check Deliverable 5.2: “Mooring and cable dynamic testing report” of the Corewind project.</p>
