Cross-modal matching of audio-visual German and French fluent speech in infancy
<p>The present study examined when and how the ability to cross-modally match audio-visual fluent speech develops in 4.5-, 6- and 12-month-old German-learning infants. In Experiment 1, 4.5- and 6-month-old infants’ audio-visual matching ability of native (German) and non-native (French) fluent speech was assessed by presenting auditory and visual speech information sequentially, that is, in the absence of temporal synchrony cues. The results showed that 4.5-month-old infants were capable of matching native as well as non-native audio and visual speech stimuli, whereas 6-month-olds perceived the audio-visual correspondence of native language stimuli only. This suggests that intersensory matching narrows for fluent speech between 4.5 and 6 months of age. In Experiment 2, auditory and visual speech information was presented simultaneously, therefore, providing temporal synchrony cues. Here, 6-month-olds were found to match native as well as non-native speech indicating facilitation of temporal synchrony cues on the intersensory perception of non-native fluent speech. Intriguingly, despite the fact that audio and visual stimuli cohered temporally, 12-month-olds matched the non-native language only. Results were discussed with regard to multisensory perceptual narrowing during the first year of life.</p>

Comprehensive Collection of English, German, Russian and Ukrainian Tweets Containing the Word or Hashtag Ukraine During the Russian Invasion, February 2022 until May 2023
<p>Comprehensive dataset of Tweets containing the keyword 'ukraine' (in German, Russian and Ukrainian) as well as '#ukraine' (in English) since the Russian Ukraine Invasion in February 2022. The user handle column has been excluded to protect deleted accounts that have not been retweeted or replied to. German small lake and pond inventory (GSLPI)
<p>This dataset contains locations and selected attributes for ~262.000 small lakes and ponds (10 - 500.000 m2) in Germany.</p> <p>The data was collected from openly available cadastric information available at the federal state level as described in the <em>sources.txt</em> file.</p> <p>The <em>data </em>directory contains geometry data and attributes regarding the lakes and ponds.</p> <p>The scripts used to create the GSLPI can be found in the <em>scripts </em>directory<em>.</em></p> <p>Both directories contain <em>readme.txt</em> files with further details.</p>
Zero-derived nouns and deverbal nominalization: Database for German
<p>This is a collection of deverbal zero-derived nouns with various information on their date of attestation, etymology, frequency, possible interpretations and their ability to realize verbal argument structure. Most of this information is extracted from lexical resources, in particular dictonaries. Examples with argument structure are extracted from natural text corpora. There are four collections in total for English, Italian, Spanish and German. The English and the Italian collections follow a parallel structure, while the Spanish and the German one are more targeted on the research purposes of the students who created them.</p>
Data on: The role of technical characteristics in blockchain adoption: survey data from German social media network users
<p><span>Blockchain has become a hyped emerging technology that is predicted to be heavily influential in all our lives. Yet, until now, it has failed to deliver most of its advertised benefits. To tackle this problem and provide an explanation for the missing wider success, this study focuses on the role of technology features in the adoption of blockchain. Thus, this research integrates the view on technological characteristics, represented by aspects of the mindfulness concept, with the sociological aspects influencing technology adoption decisions based on the widely used unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). The resulting research model is evaluated using the partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) estimation approach with German social media network. The findings indicate that only high-level knowledge of distinct technology features (uniqueness) is influencing adoption decisions while the missing deeper understanding of these features hinders a careful evaluation of its benefits and meaningful use. This research expands the technology adoption literature by highlighting the role of technical characteristics and combining social, psychological and technological factors into one model. Further, it helps practitioners to understand the causes for the limited success of blockchain and advances the general knowledge on technology adoption.</span></p>

When operating the first model of the knife, its essential drawback was revealed - the non-separable design practically did not allow to clean the knife after contamination in the field. This flaw was removed in the next model - "M-1937 / II" (Type II FKm), which was produced from 1941 year to the end of the war. In addition to the above companies, knives were also manufactured at the enterprises of other companies, including the company "E. A. Heibig". The main difference of the second model is the ability to quickly disassemble the knife into its components for cleaning it or replacing the damaged blade with a new one. Sector-coupled input data for optimizing the German transmission grid
<p>This repository contains input data for the open-source python tool <a href="https://github.com/openego/eTraGo">eTraGo</a> (<strong>e</strong>lectricity <strong>Tra</strong>nsmission <strong>G</strong>rid <strong>o</strong>ptimization) version 0.9.0.<br> This data will be uploaded to the <a href="https://openenergy-platform.org/">OpenEnergy Platform</a> which can be accessed by eTraGo. This dataset is an intermediate solution until the data is uploaded.</p> <p>The published data includes the sector-coupled transmission grid data for two scenarios (eGon2035 and eGon2035_lowlfex). It was created with the open-source tool <a href="https://github.com/openego/eGon-data/">eGon-data</a> within the research project <a href="https://ego-n.org">eGon</a>. All input data sets as well as the code are available under open source licenses.</p> <p>The data is stored as a PostgreSQL database in the attached backup file. Paris catacombs - Graffitis in the German bunker
Evidence of the German occupation is visible beneath the streets of Paris. After WWI, bunkers and shelters began to be prepared throughout Paris to protect the population against bombs and gas attacks of a future war. Three of those shelters still exist in the catacombs, one of which is the bomb-proof bunker beneath the Montaigne high school, requisitioned in WWII by the Luftwaffe as their command post. It's a large room with interesing murals as well as some german signs painted (arrows to avoid being lost) or "Rauchen Verboten" and "Ruhe" (i.e. "Smoking prohibited" and "Silence"). Electric wires and the remains of a chemical toilet are still here. This wall has a German flag painted with a white pattern over it (not sure about the meaning of it).
