Maximum temperature data from thermal safety assessment of type 21700 lithium-ion batteries with NMC, NCA and LFP cathodes by means of Accelerating Rate Calorimetry (ARC)
<p>Data of safety investigation and thermal abuse behavior of commercial type 21700 LIB cells is provided.</p> <p>It has been acquired with Accelerating Rate Calorimetry (ARC), using a Thermal Hazard Technology type ES ARC.</p> <p>Moreover, thermal abuse was done by means of the so-called Heat-Wait-Seek (HWS) test, at different states of charge (SOC) from 0 to 100.</p> <p>Different cathode chemistries are compared (NMC, NCA and LFP), as well as for NCA chemistry, the high energy (HE) and high power (HP) cell design.</p> <p>For each cell, data includes the maximum temperature measured during thermal abuse at the surface on the center of the cell. FEDORA.Transcription and photos from the Intensive Creative Workshop I on Acceleration, Complexity and Interdisciplinarity
<p>The dataset contains transcription and photos from the Intensive Creative Workshop I on Acceleration, Complexity, and Interdisciplinarity realised within the FEDORA project. The workshop was held in Bologna on 9th July 2021 and involved 16 participants with diverse backgrounds: science communicators, artists, graphic designers, novelists, photographers, researchers, school teachers, and video producers. Data from: 'A large, infrequent ecosystem subsidy (cicada carcasses) and warming additively accelerate development and increase growth of larval amphibians'
These data are from an experiment designed to quantify how ecosystem subsidies and elevated temperatures affect pond food webs, focusing on the response of frogs and the mechanisms affecting their responses. The subsidy we examined was the deposition of periodical cicada carcasses into ponds, simulating a large subsidy event that happens only every 17 years. The 7-week experiment was conducted in outdoor tanks using a factorial design with four treatments: Control (no subsidy, ambient temperature); Cicadas (cicada carcasses added in one large pulse); Warming (temperature elevated about 2.6°C above ambient); and Cicadas & Warming. The data set includes two frog response variables: time to metamorphosis (days) and size at metamorphosis (g wet mass). It also includes temperature in each tank, measured at 30-minute intervals. In addition, it includes data designed to characterize resource supply to frogs, including the abundance of periphyton and phytoplankton measured as chlorophyll concentration; periphyton and phytoplankton composition at the Division level using data from a spectrofluoroprobe; and water column nutrient concentrations, including ammonium, nitrate, total nitrogen, soluble reactive phosphorus, and total phosphorus. In addition, we estimated algal gross primary production using data on dissolved oxygen measured at 30-minute intervals, and include oxygen data here. Finally, we measured the rate at which cicada carcasses and leaf litter decomposed, and dissolved organic carbon concentrations at the end of the experiment, as these data may shed light on factors affecting nutrient supply to algae as well as ecosystem respiration rates, which are used to estimate gross primary production rates. Thus, we include data on the mass of cicada carcasses and leaf litter on several dates, as well as DOC concentrations on the last day of the experiment.
Agile Accelerator Program: From Industry-Academia Collaboration to Effective Agile Training
<p>The agile accelerator program takes place in a Brazilian technology park, as a collaboration between a university and a world-renowned technology company, specialized in agile development and consulting. This partnership has 8-year long with the main goal of preparing undergraduate students to work in high-performance agile teams. This partnership created a culturally rich environment for student learning while influencing other companies to follow the same initiative within this technology park. We conducted a Case Study aiming to characterize this partnership (explaining how it works) and the resulting program, understanding the benefits to the program students. Our results point out the importance of the kind of partnership that provides an immersive learning environment to students, where students can learn empirically, with real projects and real stakeholders and how important it was for the program's former students to enter the job market. This successful enhanced students' training program on agile software development through the blending of culture between institutions can be of inspiration to those interested in aiming to bridge the gap between academia and industry.</p>
Acceleration response of a benchmark 3 Story Structure (SAC) with MR damper under earthquake excitation
<p>This file contains acceleration response of benchmark 3 story structure equipped with MR damper under the Chuetsu-Oki earthquake in Niigata prefecture, Japan, which occurred on July 16th, 2007. Acceleration response of each story is separated and saved in separate text files. Text file contains four columns that the first one has been devoted to time series, while the remained (second, third, fourth) columns present acceleration responses in three perpendicular axes, X, Y, Z, respectively.</p>

Data from: Independently evolved and gene flow‐accelerated pesticide resistance in two‐spotted spider mites
<p>Pest species are often able to develop resistance to pesticides used to control them, depending on how rapidly resistance can emerge within a population or spread from another resistant population. We examined the evolution of bifenazate resistance in China in the two‐spotted spider mite (TSSM) <em>Tetranychus</em> <em>uticae</em> Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae), one of the most resistant arthropods, by using bioassays, detection of mutations in the target <em>cytb</em> gene, and population genetic structure analysis using microsatellite markers. Bioassays showed variable levels of resistance to bifenazate. The <em>cytb</em> mutation G126S, which confers medium resistance in TSSM to bifenazate, had previously been detected prior to the application of bifenazate and was now widespread, suggesting likely resistance evolution from standing genetic variation. G126S was detected in geographically distant populations across different genetic clusters, pointing to the independent origin of this mutation in different TSSM populations. A novel A269V mutation linked to a low‐level resistance was detected in two southern populations. Widespread resistance associated with a high frequency of the G126S allele was found in four populations from the Beijing area which were not genetically differentiated. In this case, a high level of gene flows likely accelerated the development of resistance within this local region, as well as into an outlying region distant from Beijing. These findings, therefore, suggest patterns consistent with both local evolution of pesticide resistance as well as an impact of migration, helping to inform resistance management strategies in TSSM.</p>

Accurate modeling of plasma acceleration with arbitrary order pseudo-spectral particle-in-cell methods
<p>This is supplementary material to the publication "Accurate modeling of plasma acceleration with arbitrary order pseudo-spectral particle-in-cell methods" by S. Jalas et. al.</p> <p>Particle in Cell (PIC) simulations are a widely used tool for the investigation of both laser- and beam-driven plasma acceleration. It is a known issue that the beam quality can be artificially degraded by numerical Cherenkov radiation (NCR) resulting primarily from an incorrectly modeled dispersion relation. Pseudo- spectral solvers featuring infinite order stencils can strongly reduce NCR – or even suppress it – and are therefore well suited to correctly model the beam properties. For efficient parallelization of the PIC algorithm, however, localized solvers are inevitable. Arbitrary order pseudo-spectral methods provide this needed locality. Yet, these methods can again be prone to NCR. Here, we show that acceptably low solver orders are sufficient to correctly model the physics of interest, while allowing for parallel computation by domain decomposition.</p> <p>The given script can be run with the open source particle in cell codes FBPIC (https://github.com/fbpic/fbpic) and Warp (https://bitbucket.org/berkeleylab/warp)</p> <p>The produced data is conformant with the openPMD standard (openpmd.org) and can be analysed for example with the openPMD-viewer (https://github.com/openPMD/openPMD-viewer).</p>
Gaussian-accelerated Molecular Dynamics simulations of CCR8-CCL1-Gprotein complex in a POPC lipid bilayer
<p>Gaussian-accelerated Molecular Dynamics simulations of the CCR8-CCL1-Gprotein complex in a POPC lipid bilayer. Simulation system was prepared with OpenMM v7.7 and simulations were performed using the GaMD-OpenMM package (https://github.com/MiaoLab20/gamd-openmm) with a modification to include the MDTraj h5 file formate reporter as the output file format.
