SBA-Pr-Imine-Furan as an environmental adsorbent of Pd(II) in aqueous solutions
<p>SBA-Pr-Imine-Furan, as an adsorbent, was prepared by the functionalization of SBA-Pr-NH2 with furfural in 2 steps. The absorbent intensity of Pd2+ by SBA-Pr-Imine-Furan was studied by the atomic absorbance spectroscopy (AAS), which was demonstrated a high capacity to adsorb Pd(II) ions. Many factors affect the adsorbent, such as pH, the sample solution concentration, contact time, and the used eluent in optimized conditions. The maximum adsorption capacities of Pd(II) ion were found for SBA-Pr-Imine-Furan, was <strong>200</strong> mg g−1.</p>
Data from: Preparation of core–shell structured CaCO 3 microspheres as rapid and recyclable adsorbent for anionic dyes
Core–shell structured CaCO3 microspheres (MSs) were prepared by a facile, one-pot method at room temperature. The adsorbent dosage and adsorption time of the obtained CaCO3 MSs were investigated. The results suggest that these CaCO3 MSs can rapidly and efficiently remove 99–100% of anionic dyes within the first 2 min. The obtained CaCO3 MSs have a high Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area (211.77 m2 g−1). In addition, the maximum adsorption capacity of the obtained CaCO3 MSs towards Congo red was 99.6 mg g−1. We also found that the core–shell structured CaCO3 MSs have a high recycling capability for removing dyes from water. Our results demonstrate that the prepared core–shell structured CaCO3 MSs can be used as an ideal, rapid, efficient and recyclable adsorbent to remove dyes from aqueous solution.
Data from: Preparation of modified pomelo peel's pulp adsorbent and its adsorption to uranyl ions
Using Pomelo peel's pulp (PPP) as raw materials, the new chemically modified PPP was prepared by the process of fermentation, cooking, freeze-drying, and so on. The adsorbent were characterized by SEM, IR, BET and EDS. The effects of different adsorption conditions such as pH value, adsorption temperature, mass of adsorbent, adsorption time, and initial concentration of UO22+ were studied. The adsorption mechanism was explored through adsorption thermodynamics and adsorption kinetics experiments. The results show that the pH value is 6.0, the dosage of adsorbent is 10 mg, the temperature is 50℃ and the adsorption time is 90 min, which is the best adsorption condition. When the initial concentration of UO22+ is 35 mg/L, the adsorbed capacity of uranyl ion by the modified PPP adsorbent can reach 42.733 mg/g, 26.8% higher than the adsorption capacity of unmodified adsorbent (31.276 mg/g), which is obviously enhanced. The kinetic and thermodynamic experiments show that the adsorption process accords with the pseudo-second-order kinetics model and is an endothermic reaction, and the reaction is spontaneous. The adsorption process is dominated by entropic. The Freundlich adsorption isotherm can describe the adsorption process more accurately.
