Product Space Study in the State of Alagoas
<p>Trade plays a central role as one of the channels of interaction between countries for the</p> <p>constant exchange of information. Understand how market works can lead a region to</p> <p>constant growth. To do so, it is essential to understand how products produced by a country</p> <p>relate. Considering this, the Product Space can show us, through a network, if it is possible to</p> <p>industries produce new products from those already produced by them. This dissertation</p> <p>seeks to understand the market basket of Alagoas for over twenty years (1997-2019) and</p> <p>identify opportunities for growth through the Alagoas export network. After analyzing the</p> <p>Product Space, we can conclude that Alagoas is not totally isolated in the network. The state</p> <p>has the possibility to grow and migrate tomore sophisticated products, being able to reach</p> <p>more than 50 new products for export. With the implementation or renewal of public policies</p> <p>coupled with private partnerships, new industries will be attracted and, consequently, will</p> <p>cause the state to grow.</p>
