<p>Dataset for evaluating root extraction</p> <p>This dataset contains data to evaluate the roots extracted by Arabic stemmers and morphological analyzers.</p> <p>The dataset was created in the context of the <a href="https://www.esciencecenter.nl/project/bridging-the-gap">Bridging the Gap project</a>.</p> <p>The <code>txt</code> directory contains the text files for which roots were extracted, and <code>gs</code> contains csv files with columns <code>word</code> and <code>root</code>, containing the words from the text and the manually corrected roots. If multiple roots apply, they have been separated using a backslash (<code>\</code>). If the word is a letter, the root is <code>#</code>.</p> <p>The text files have been analyzed using <a href="http://arabic.emi.ac.ma/safar/">SAFAR</a>, using <a href="https://github.com/arabic-digital-humanities/research-scripts">our software</a>. Arab-Andalusian music lyrics dataset
<p>The dataset contains lyrics for the songs in the <a href="https://musicbrainz.org/collection/142ea0d7-7fdf-4ea5-9b04-219f68023d01">Arab-Anadalusian music collection curated within the CompMusic project</a>, that belong to the nawbas "Isbahan", "Maya”, “Raml Maya”, “Gharibat al-Husayn”, “Hijaz Kabir”, “Hijaz Msharqi”, “Istihlal”, “Rasd”, and ”Rasd Dayl”.</p> <p>Lyrics are stored in two formats: as Tab Separated Values (TSV) files and as JSON files.</p> <p>Each file is identified by its MusicBrainz recording ID (MBID).</p> <p>The lyrics are stored both in their original Arabic script (folder 'original') and a romanized/transliterated version (folder 'transliterated') using the American Library of Congress (ALA-LC standard).</p> <p>Corresponding audio files are available from <a href="https://zenodo.org/record/1291776#.WyeYnZ9fjCI">the Arab-Andalusian music corpus</a>, as well as the Internet Archive URL included in the metadata file ('metadata.csv').</p> <p>For more information about the exact format and contents of the dataset, please consult the README provided in the archive.</p> <p>For more information, please refer to <a href="http://compmusic.upf.edu/corpora">http://compmusic.upf.edu/corpora</a>.</p>

Arab Pangenome Reference
<p>Pangenomes represent a significant shift from relying on a single reference sequence to a robust set of assemblies, Arab populations remain significantly underrepresented; hence, we present the first Arab Pangenome Reference (APR) utilizing 53 individuals of diverse Arab ethnicities. We assembled nuclear and mitochondrial pangenomes using 35.27X high-fidelity long reads, 54.22X ultralong reads and 65.46X Hi-C reads yielded contiguous haplotype-phased <em>de novo</em> assemblies of exceptional quality, with an average N50 of 124.28 Mb. We discovered 111.96 million base pairs of novel euchromatic sequences absent from existing human pangenomes, the T2T-CHM13, GRCh38 reference human genomes, and other public datasets. We identified 8.94 million population-specific small variants and 235,195 structural variants within the Arab pangenome. We detected 883 gene duplications including 15.06% associated with recessive diseases and 1,436 bp of novel mitochondrial pangenome sequence. Our study provides a valuable resource for future genomic medicine initiatives in Arab population and other global populations.</p>
