FIGURE 1 in Two new freshwater blennies from the Eastern Mediterranean basin (Teleostei: Blenniidae)

FIGURE 1. Maximum likelihood estimation of the phylogenetic relationships based on the mitochondrial COI barcode region (K2P + G model, was the best-fit evolution model for nucleotide substitution in the COI 5 categories (+G, parameter = 0.1899)). The tree with the highest log likelihood (-2107.61) is shown. All positions with less than 98% site coverage were eliminated, allowing for fewer than 2% alignment gaps, missing data, and ambiguous bases at any position (partial deletion option), resulting in a total of 581 positions in the final dataset. Numbers of major nodes indicate bootstrap values from 1000 pseudo-replicates from the ML and NJ methods. The outcomes of species delimitation using the PTP method are illustrated as black bars adjacent to the specimen labels. Meanwhile, results derived from the mPTP approach are depicted as grey bars, and those obtained through the ASAP method are represented by white bars. The tree is drawn to scale (except for the outgroup), with branch lengths representing the number of substitutions per site.
