"I was on vacation in Mala, living in a self-catering holiday cottage, together with my girlfriend (we're together for 11 years now), recovering from a heavy workload in the second half of 2008. We were sitting outside, probably sipping a beer, when we heard the sound of bells approaching. Stepping on the stones that enclose the little forecourt of the cottage, we could just see the goat herd being driven by. Idashed for my R09 (recording equipment) to get that impression – but too slowly too late, it seemed, the herd had disappeared and with it the sound. When Iwas about to pack my R09 again the sound appeared to come back, so Idashed down the driveway, just in time to see the herd pass, and then Ifollowed it a couple of hundred meters, walking behind the herd, trying not to breathe or make stepping sounds, eventually, when dogs started barking and a car approached from behind, I stopped and let the goats go on, the car passes, honks ... and Icut the recording and walk back to the cottage." Hybrid-electric passenger car energy utilization and emissions: Relationships for real-world driving conditions that account for road grade
<p>Past research showed on-road emissions patterns unique to hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), indicating the need to account for them in emissions models as projected HEV sales increase over the coming decades. This work defines and characterizes a variable that quantifies HEV operating behavior to inform future development of new HEV emissions models based on current knowledge of conventional vehicle (CV) emissions patterns. Instantaneous hybridization factor (IHF), was quantified using on-road data collected from a 2010 Toyota Camry HEV. IHF is the ratio of electric system power to total system power and accounts for energy storage in the high voltage battery (IHF ranges from −1 to +1). Relationships between IHF and vehicle specific power (VSP), road type and road grade were examined. Negative VSP resulted in regenerative braking operation (IHF = −0.01 to −1) 90% of the time. IHF identified the VSP range where HEV operation was highly variable (VSP = −1 to 8 kW/ton) when driving at speeds below the ICE-off threshold (42 mph). VSP and IHF together account for 76–86% of the variability in HEV CO2 emissions in this study. CO2 model results using VSP computed with the measured real-world road grade (R2 = 0.86) gave improved fits over the no-grade VSP model (R2 = 0.69). This study establishes one framework for calculating the instantaneous HEV power split, confirms the need to include road grade in VSP for accurate modeling of vehicle emissions, and identified the need for significant improvements in on-board diagnostic (OBD) scantool measurement requirements for HEVs in three areas: (1) temporal resolution (sub-second to capture transient events such as ICE restarts); (2) simultaneous data logging capability for multiple controller area networks (i.e., engine and HEV parameters together); and (3) improved data precision.</p>
Bodie Sunken Car
This car likely sunk up to its axials one spring in this ghost town of Bodie California. The wooden wheels rotted or were taken and this shell of a car rusted into place. Decades ago this car still had a radio with a car battery attached and set beneath it. They laid some plywood on the springs of a seat to not get snagged. A bucket had been added, perhaps as a beverage holder. One could imagine someone spending a considerable amount of time sitting here in this car and town, while listening to that radio, and going nowhere. from 46 images in 05h:04m:09s. Matchbox Mercedes Benz Ambulance Toy Car
This Matchbox Mercedes-Benz ambulance toy car was found during a quick salvage operation near the Spartan Village Apartments on MSU's campus. Found within a concrete-lined structure (likely a cistern), the toy was found with an assortment of other child-related artifacts such as a sippy cup and a plastic cap gun. Reminiscent of the Ghostbusters' vehicle, the Ecto-1, this Binz ambulance was manufactured sometime in 1967-1969 based on the design of the wheels [1]. Confoundingly, the old farmhouse that stood near this location was removed in 1958. Based on archival and historic records, MSU did not construct any buildings in its place; so the placement of a toy car from the late 1960s in the foundations of a building removed around a decade prior is something the CAP crew is still investigating. Remains of a Burnt Car scans with iPhone12 Pro
The body of the car was destroyed by fire, and only the chassis remained. The car has a long history as the first vehicle number and was used at Meidi-ya store in Ginza until just before the earthquake. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Reconstruction Memorial Hall was built in 1931 as an auxiliary facility to the Earthquake Memorial Hall (now the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Memorial Hall) in order to pass on the devastation of the Great Kanto Earthquake to future generations and to permanently commemorate the great work that was done by the public and private sectors to reconstruct Tokyo from the ashes of the disaster. NYCT R62/R62A Subway car
R62 is a NYC subway train car type built by Kawasaki that entered service in 1983 - 1985 to replace R15 and R17. The R62A is built by Bombardier which entered service in 1985 - 1987. However, the R15 and R17 didn't retire until 1987 when the R62/R62A fleet took over completely. R62: (3) R62A: (1)(6)(S) Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

1959 Tube Driver Car - London Underground
I have had to use a lot of artisit licence with this model as high quality photographs are hard to come by. I do not use schematic diagrams for my models and only use photographs I can find on google images. With some basic measurements found on wikipedia, I am ususally able to get a close approximation. Materials damaged by the Great Kantō Earthquake. https://tokyoireikyoukai.com/data/661 The Great Kantō Earthquake struck the Kantō Plain on the main Japanese island of Honshū at 11:58:44 JST (02:58:44 UTC) on Saturday, September 1, 1923. Varied accounts indicate the duration of the earthquake was between four and ten minutes. Extensive firestorms and even a fire tornado added to the death toll. Ethnically-charged civil unrest after the disaster (i.e. the Kantō Massacre) has been documented. The body of the car was lost, and only the chassis remained. This car has a long history as the first car number, and was used at Meidi-ya store in Ginza until just before the earthquake. Union Pacific Railroad Car, Rhyolite
Found this box car in the Rhyolite ghost town while on a capture trip through the desert for Realities.io Check out the interior! **Location** Rhyolite is a ghost town in Nye County, in the U.S. state of Nevada. It is in the Bullfrog Hills, about 120 miles (190 km) northwest of Las Vegas, near the eastern edge of Death Valley. The town began in early 1905 as one of several mining camps that sprang up after a prospecting discovery in the surrounding hills. During an ensuing gold rush, thousands of gold-seekers, developers, miners and service providers flocked to the Bullfrog Mining District. Many settled in Rhyolite, which lay in a sheltered desert basin near the region's biggest producer, the Montgomery Shoshone Mine - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhyolite,_Nevada **Method** A7rii + Mavic 2 Pro Created in RealityCapture by Capturing Reality from 223 images in 00h:19m:43s.
