(Digital) Humanities and Media Labs Around the World
<p>The dataset presents a list of laboratories set up in the humanities, digital humanities, and media studies within universities across the world in 1983-2018. The data are collected and organized in an interactive map designed in the digital StoryMapJS tool, creating a valuable visible representation of the laboratory concept from a geographical and historical perspective. Based on the interactive map, I analyze the history of the laboratory in the humanities within a global context from the 1980s to 2018. The dataset includes 214 laboratories.</p> <p>Data collection</p> <p>I identified laboratories by using different resources such as universities’ websites, articles, and research projects. Besides, I sent a questionnaire to the most relevant networks in October 2018 to identify even more labs created in (digital) humanities and media studies at universities.</p> <p>Data organization</p> <p>I collected data about each lab based on its website and other resources. I extracted the following data: year established, year ended (if applicable), lab’s name, university, city, country, affiliation and location (if provided), disciplines and keywords (based on labs’ statements and projects and aiming to situate a lab), selected projects (if provided), purpose (a short quotation of a lab’s statement published on its website), website, and geographical latitude and longitude. I organized all the data in chronological order according to year established in Google Sheets. Next, I used StoryMapJS, a free tool designed by the Northwestern University’s Knight Lab, to map my data.</p>

Digital humanities semantic Notebook / video of the presentation
<p>After a theoretical introduction on the concepts of reproducible science and the Web of Data, we will present the methodology of scientific notebooks (e.g. Jupyter Notebooks). In this context, we will present a step-by-step approach to the creation of a scientific notebook in history: we will load a dataset from the Open Data of the institute and then apply filters and calculations on the data. A presentation and analysis layer with graphics will complete our research product with enrichments from external data and vocabularies from the Semantic Web. This will make our output reproducible and documented with text enriched with semantic schemas (schema.org) and disambiguation authorities (GND, dpPedia, Wikidata...), data sources and computer code. The presentation does not require advanced technical knowledge. It is aimed at beginners. The technical demonstration, in the second part, is deliberately simple in content and will be commented on as it goes along.</p>
BIG DATA ANALYTICS IN DIGITAL HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT: IMPACT ON THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS
<p>This study investigates how HR employees experience the big data phenomenon in the recruitment function of HRM and how their perceptions of the phenomenon have evolved. This study also examines how BD will affect organizational and HRM and how it can be improved in other functions of HR. In this exploratory study, which comprehensively addresses the BD phenomenon in HRM, the phenomenological design approach, one of the qualitative research methods, was applied to test the research questions and a semi-structured interview form was used for research data. Using the snowball sampling method, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 HR employees working in large and semi-structured organizations in Turkey and the interviews were analyzed with MAXQDA 20. The findings show that HRM employees are aware of BD. On the other hand, it is understood that BD technologies provide easy accessibility in recruitment, offer a strategic competitive advantage, and enable more effective management of information management, which saves HR employees' work in a facilitating way. They benefit from technology as a decision support assistant. Finally, the research results provide theoretical and practical implications for future researchers and practitioners for the development and effective use of BD technology in the field of HRM.</p>

<p>This bibliography is related to the paper "Perspectives-Observer-Transparency - Structured Review of the Human Digital Twin and Novel Paradigm for Modelling the Human in Human-To-Anything Interaction" by Nils Mandischer, Alexander Atanasyan, Michael Schluse, Jürgen Roßmann, and Lars Mikelsons, currently under submission to the IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics as of April 2024.<br> <br>The references are collected as part of a structured literature review on modelling approaches for humans and artificial agents and the perspectives taken on them. Particular interest lays on the (Human) Digital Twin which proved to be a relatively nascent approach that quickly gained interest at the time of writing. MODERN STUDENT YOUTH AS A CARRIER OF HUMAN CAPITAL IN A DIGITAL SOCIETY
<p>The article examines the specifics of modern student youth as a special social group in a digital society. The article analyzes the main factors influencing the formation of modern youth, which form the basis of the so-called digital generation, and formulates the thesis about the leading role of student youth as a carrier of modern human capital. Based on the results of the research, the author identifies the main trends in the transformation of the worldview of the younger generation, manifested in the views, values, forms and methods of communication of modern Russian students.</p>
Emotion Recognition for Affective human digital twin by means of virtual reality enabling technologies
<pre>We introduce a new bimodal dataset recorded during affect elicitation by means of audio-visual stimuli for human emotion recognition based on facial and corporal expressions. Our dataset was collected using three devices: an RGB camera, Kinect 1, and Kinect 2. The Kinect 1 and Kinect 2 sensors provide 121 and 1347 face key points, respectively, offering a more comprehensive analysis of facial expressions. Additionally, for the 2D RGB sequences, we utilized the feature points provided by the open-source OpenFace, which includes 2D 68 facial landmarks. From these landmarks, we selected 26 facial points that were most relevant for our emotion recognition task. To gather the data, we conducted experiments involving 17 participants. We captured both facial and skeleton keypoints, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the participants' emotional expressions. By combining the RGB and RGB-D data from the various devices, our dataset provides a rich and diverse set of information for human emotion recognition research. This new dataset not only expands the available resources for studying human emotions but also offers a more detailed analysis with the increased number of facial keypoints provided by the Kinect sensors. Researchers can leverage this dataset to develop and evaluate more accurate and robust models for human emotion recognition, ultimately advancing our understanding of how emotions are expressed through facial and corporal cues.
