Figure 4 from: Long J-Y, Williams DM, Liu B, Mo W-H, Quan S-J (2022) Ultrastructure of three Species of Entomoneis (Bacillariophyta) from Lake Qinghai of China, with reference to the external areola occlusions. PhytoKeys 189: 29-50. https://doi.org/10.3897/phytokeys.189.78149
Figure 4 A–GEntomoneis sinensis sp. nov., SEMA one valve with associated girdle bands, note the 8-shaped loop formed by the pars media of valvocopula (the pars media indicated by arrowheads and arrows indicating the pars media on the unseen side) B–D two valves with girdle bands further showing the 8-shaped loop (labelled in Fig. D) E middle part of a valve, note the mantle and the three parts of each girdle bands: parts exterior, pars media and pars interior F detail from Fig. E note the hymen strip occluding the poroid G valvocopula in internal view, note the broader pars exterior than pars interior and sternum-like pars media. Scale bars: 10 μm (A–D); 2 μm (E–G).

Overlooked contribution of salt lake emissions: a case study of dust deposition from the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau

Between January 2020 and March 2023, monthly dust samples were collected from six monitoring stations in the southern Qaidam Basin of the northeastern Tibetan Plateau. The analyses of these samples focused on sediment flux (DF), mineral composition, water-soluble ions, trace elements, and carbon content.

FIGURES 1–15 in Pinnularia qinghainensis: a new diatom species (Bacillariophyta) found in the brackish Lake Qinghai, China
FIGURES 1–15. Pinnularia qinghainensis sp. nov., LM. Figs 1–15. 15 valves showing size diminution series, note hexagonal central area (see a sketch in Fig. 5), which can reach the middle margins (e.g. Figs 1, 5, 11), bordering one margin and the other with few short striae (e.g. Figs 2, 3), or bordering both with a few short striae (e.g. Figs 8, 12, 15). Fig. 2 = holotype specimen. Fig. 3 = isotype specimen. Scale bar = 10 μm (in Fig. 1).
