November 2001 bin-averaged CTD profiles for the Georgia Coastal Ecosystems Altamaha River transect

One hydrographic survey was performed on November 29, 2001, along an east-to-west transect up the Altamaha River in Georgia (Altamaha River Transect, GCE-AL). Vertical CTD profiles were collected at 2km intervals from the line of demarcation (station +00) to 24km upriver along the transect during an ebb tidal regime. Conductivity, temperature, pressure and optical backscatter were measured, and depth, salinity and sigma-t were calculated for each profile. Data values collected on the upcast were deleted, and the remaining data were averaged within 0.5m depth bins and interpolated to produce a smooth profile for contouring. This data set was collected as part of the Georgia Coastal Ecosystems LTER quarterly hydrographic monitoring program.

Surface water DIC, total alkalinity, and pH for the November 2001 Georgia Coastal Ecosystems LTER oceanographic survey

Surface water samples for total dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total alkalinity (TAlk), and pH were collected from the Altamaha River, Doboy Sound, Sapelo River and the Duplin River (anchor station near Marsh Landing) during November 26-29, 2001. DIC was measured using a custom automated DIC analyzer. Total alkalinity was determined by Gran titration. pH of surface water at stations was measured on board using a glass electrode. This study was part of the GCE oceanographic monitoring program, and will be repeated periodically.

November 2001 surface water bacterial productivity at ten Georgia Coastal Ecosystems LTER sampling sites

Surface water samples were collected during low tide survays near ten Georgia Coastal Ecosystem LTER sampling sites in November, 2001. The incorporation of tritiated leucine in unfiltered samples during one hour incubations was measured using a standard microcentrifuge method to estimate bacterial productivity in each sample. This study was part of the GCE-LTER hydrographic monitoring program, and will be repeated quarterly.

Conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD) vertical profiles from Lake Joyce, McMurdo Dry Valleys, Antarctica, November 2014

Vertical profiles of conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD) were collected from Lake Joyce, a perennially ice-covered lake in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica. Water column observations were made in November 2014 using a YSI 6600 multiparameter probe in the deepest region of the lake, as identified by Mackey et al. (2018). The water column was accessed by drilling a 10-inch wide hole through the perennial ice cover using a Jiffy drill. This data package includes CTD profiles, as well as measurements of salinity, total dissolved solids (TDS), dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, and pressure.

Lake Fryxell continuous benthic dissolved oxygen and temperature measurements, McMurdo Dry Valleys, Antarctica, November 2023 to December 2024

To examine benthic dissolved oxygen (DO) dynamics in Lake Fryxell, located in the McMurdo Dry Valleys region of Antarctica, DO and temperature were continuously measured near the sediment–water interface at ~8.8 m depth from November 2023 to December 2024. A PME miniDOT® logger was deployed on the lake floor at 8.82 m depth, recording every 15 minutes from 9 November 2023 to 16 December 2024. An Onset HOBO® DO logger, buoyed slightly above the sediment at 8.80 m depth, recorded at the same 15-minute interval from 9 November 2023 to 6 August 2024. The shorter deployment period reflects the six-month lifespan of the HOBO optical sensor.

Differential Interferogram of the Lefkada 17 November 2015 Earthquake

<p>On the 17th of November 2015, an earthquake of Mw 6.4 hit the western Greek island of Lefkada, located in Ionian Sea, an area that is well known for its active tectonics. A second earthquake of Mw 5.0 successively followed. These events induced rock falls and landslides having as consequences two life losses and extensive damages to roads and buildings.<br /> Shortly after the events, BEYOND acquired a set of Sentinel-1 TOPSAR scenes, one before and one after the event. The images were combined to form an interferogram that depicts ground deformation due to the earthquake events.<br /> The fringes of the preliminary interferometric results, which are under further elaboration, reveal ground deformation of the order of ~20cm along the Line of Sight at the western part of Lefkada Island. As smaller deformation field is also apparent at the northern part of Cephalonia Island.</p>

Landslides from Space - Bento Rodrigues Dam Failure, Brazil (5th November 2015)

<p>On 5th November 2015, an iron ore tailings dam in Bento Rodrigues suffered a failure. About 60 million cubic meter of iron waste flowed down the valley. Two villages were partly destroyed and the drinking water supply of a few hundred thousand people were effected. The river Doce will be affected by this disaster for many decades.</p> <p>The pre-event acquisition is from 5th November 2015 (Landsat-8) and the post-event acquisition is from 26th December 2015 (Sentinel-2).<br> <br> <em>Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel and Landsat data (2015) </em></p>

Landslides from Space - Kaikoura Earthquake-triggered Landslides, New Zealand (14th November 2016)

<p>On 14th November 2016 an earthquake with a maginitude of 7.8 triggered multiple landslides. Especially the village of Kaikoura was affected as it was cut off from the rest of New Zealand when its main road, State Highway 1. was blocked through multiple rockfalls and landslides.<br> <br> The pre-event acquisition is from 14th September 2016 (Sentinel-2) and the post-event acquisition is from 15th December 2016 (Sentinel-2).<br> <br> <em>Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2016)</em></p>

Seismic dataset. Mt. Etna, November, 2013.

<p>We present a seismic dataset recorded during November 2013 by a 3 components seismic station, called EBEM, belonging to the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia, Osservatorio Etneo monitoring network. This dataset is part of a researcher paper <em>&ldquo;A successful short-term volcanic eruption forecasting using seismic features&rdquo;</em>.&nbsp;</p> <p>This data repository includes continuous raw waveforms (Z component) in SAC format, and related metadata. The seismic station EBEM was located at an elevation of about 2700 m a.s.l., at a distance of about 1500 m from the South-East Crater.</p> <p>The EBEM station was equipped with a Lennartz LE-3D/20s&nbsp;(T=20s) 3 components, with flat frequency response of 0.05 - 50 Hz (<a href="https://www.nanometrics.ca/products/seismometers">https://www.lennartz-electronic.de/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Lennartz-SeismometerManual.pdf</a>).</p> <p>Data were sampled at 100 Hz using Nanometrics Trident digital data recorders (https://www.nanometrics.ca). Crossref metadata of COCI bibliographic resources, as of November 2018 and LCC categories of the ISBN entities in the dataset

<p>The <em>all.zip</em> CSV file (zipped) contains citation counts obtained from the November 2018 dump of COCI (https://doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.6741422.v3) and some metadata (title, DOI, number of authors, ISBN, ISBN of the container, type of the bibliographic resource) of the related citing and cited entities obtained by using the Crossref dump downloaded in October 2018 &ndash; which is the same dump used to create the COCI data.</p> <p>In addition, it contains all the Library of Congress Classification (LCC) categories associated with each ISBN in the previous dataset (file <em>isbn_cat_lcc.csv</em>), according to the data retrieved using the services at <a href="http://classify.oclc.org/classify2/api_docs/index.html">http://classify.oclc.org/classify2/api_docs/index.html</a>. Two ancillary mapping files have been also added: one (<em>ddc_to_lcc_mapping.csv</em>) for converting a Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) categories into LCC categories, in the case the service mentioned above returned only DDC categories for some ISBN; the other (<em>lcc_to_wos_mapping.csv</em>) to map each LCC category into the related <a href="https://images.webofknowledge.com/images/help/WOS/hp_research_areas_easca.html">Web of Science research area</a>.</p>

Examining Visitor Perspectives about HJA Day: Frequency Report November 2014

Pre- and post-HJA Day surveys were designed to help understand visitor experiences and thoughts about HJA Day 2014. A combined total of 136 individuals registered for HJA Day 2014. Registrants were requested to complete both pre- and post-HJA Day surveys either in person or online. Of these, 76 registrants completed each survey for a 56% response rate of both the pre- and post-HJA Day survey. This frequency report provides an initial look at both pre- and post-HJA Day responses.
