<p>As part of &quot;Online Data Collection and Management&quot; (taught at Tilburg University, Spring 2022), students collected publicly available datasets for use in academic research projects. With this repository, I am sharing (a) the documentation of these data sets, and (b) the associated source code that led to the collection of the data. <div> <p><span>The study was conducted on Risk management and performance of Construction projects implemented by NPD Ltd, the study specifically will be conducted in NPD Ltd, the target population was <span>600</span> employes and <span>&nbsp;</span>sample size was undertaken to be <span>86</span> respondents </span><span>Study used<span>&nbsp; </span>descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, both qualitative and quantitative were used to analyse the data with assistance of SPSS software program version 25.0 ,</span><span>descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used to present frequencies tables, percentages, mean and standard deviation and Inferential analysis was used in order to use Pearson correlation and multiple regression model to test the relationship between the independent variables and dependent variable.</span><span>Descriptive statistics to produce frequency tables, percentages and mean. It indicated that the relationship between risk management and performance of project on road construction between risk planning, risk analysis, risk response and risk mitigation and performance was <span>0.617, 0.855 ,0<sup> </sup>.867and 0.827</span> </span><span>respectively, and the results presented than the variables were statistically significant with p value=0.000b</span><span>.</span><span> The results present the variables of Risk management; <span>Risk Planning, </span>was not statistically significant with p value=0.479<sup>b</sup>, the <span>Risk Analysis</span> was statistically significant with p value=0.010<sup>b</sup>, and the <span>Risk Response</span> was statistically significant with p value=0.000<sup>b</sup>. And the <span>Risk Mitigation</span> was statistically significant with p value=0.000<sup>b</sup>. </span><span>It concluded that there was a significant relationship between risk management and performance of project. Effect of Project Management on Success of Mergers and Acquisitions of Companies in Rwanda: case of Investment Finance / Commercial Buildings Project of KCB and Rural Sector Support Project of BPR (2020-2023).

<h1><span><br></span></h1> <p><span>Background: the study aimed to assess the impact of project management on the success of mergers and acquisitions in Rwandan companies, focusing on the Investment Finance/Commercial Buildings project of KCB and the Rural Sector Support Project of BPR. The specific objectives included examining the effects of project timeline management, project budget management, project human resource management, project quality planning management, and project risk assessment on the success of mergers and acquisitions. <span>&nbsp;</span>Methods: The research utilized descriptive and correlative research designs, employing a mixed approach of qualitative and quantitative methods. Data were collected from a population of 237 individuals, with a sample size of 149 selected through stratified and purposive sampling. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23.0 was used for data processing and analysis, employing descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple linear regression analysis. Findings: The correlation analysis revealed significant and positive relationships between the independent variables (X1, X2, X3, X4, and X5) and the dependent variable </span><span>(Y - success of mergers and acquisitions). Effective timeline management (X1) demonstrated a significant positive correlation (Pearson Correlation = 0.476), emphasizing its importance for project success. Project budget management (X2) also exhibited a significant positive correlation (Pearson Correlation = 0.583), highlighting the value of budget management. Efficient human resource management (X3) showed a significant positive correlation (Pearson Correlation = 0.522), underscoring the role of human resources in project success. Effective quality planning management (X4) displayed a significant positive correlation (Pearson Correlation = 0.621), emphasizing the importance of quality planning. Thorough project risk assessment (X5) had a significant positive correlation (Pearson Correlation = 0.671), stressing the role of risk assessment in achieving success. Conclusion: all independent variables (X1, X2, X3, X4, and X5) were found to be positively and significantly correlated with the success of merger and acquisition projects. These results underscore the crucial role of project management factors, including timeline management, budget management, human resource management, quality planning management, and risk assessment, in determining the success of mergers and acquisitions in Rwandan companies. Recommendations: Based on the findings, it is recommended that companies engaged in mergers and acquisitions in Rwanda prioritize effective project management strategies, focusing on timeline management, budget management, human resource management, quality planning management, and risk assessment. Implementing robust project management practices can enhance the likelihood of successful outcomes in the context of mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, organizations are encouraged to invest in training and development programs to build the necessary skills and competencies in project management for their personnel involved in such strategic initiatives.</span></p>

Effect of Project Management Practices on the Improvement of Irish Potatoes Value Chain Project: A Case of SDGP Project in Musanze District, Rwanda (2020-2022)

<p><span>This study investigates the impact of project management practices on the improvement of the Irish potatoes value chain project in Musanze District, Rwanda. It focuses on assessing the effects of project planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation on the project's success. Using a census method due to a small target population of 135, which included SDGP staff and local agricultural representatives, the study utilized both primary and secondary data, analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics in SPSS.</span></p> <p><span>The results indicate that project management practices, particularly planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation, have a strong positive correlation with project improvement. However, the study also highlights some areas of concern, such as inadequate detailed planning and beneficiary involvement. With an R-squared value of .862, these practices explain 86.2% of the variations in project improvement.</span></p> <p><span>Conclusively, the study affirms that effective project management significantly enhances the Irish potatoes value chain project in Musanze District. Recommendations include refining the planning process, enhancing beneficiary involvement, improving risk management during implementation, and ensuring effective communication and use of monitoring and evaluation findings to foster better project outcomes.</span></p> <p><span>Top of Form</span></p> <p><strong><span>Key words:</span></strong><span> </span><span>project management practices, project improvement, project planning, project </span></p>

Critical Success Factors of Agile Transformation Initiatives from a Project Management Perspective

<p>Context: Agile methods have been adopted as an alternative to<br> meet the frequent changes in the IT industry and to address is-<br> sues of quality, cost, speed, and efficiency in systems development<br> processes. Problem: Managers are responsible for the appropriate<br> application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques that can<br> impact the success or failure of an agile transformation initiative.<br> However, there is not much visibility into the critical success factors<br> (CSF) associated with it. Solution: We aim to identify the CSFs that<br> affect agile transformation initiatives from a project management<br> perspective. IS Theory: The General Systems Theory provides the<br> basis for this study, since the different organizational aspects in-<br> volved in the agile transformation are interrelated and influenced<br> by factors such as environment, culture, information technology,<br> internal management systems, and other elements that may hinder<br> its adoption. Method: We performed a systematic mapping study<br> in the following digital databases: EI Compendex, IEEE, ISI Web<br> of Science, and SCOPUS. Sumary of Results: We selected 12 stud-<br> ies that allowed us to identify 12 CSF. The most cited ones were<br> top management support, team empowerment, adapting the pro-<br> cess toagile, and customer focus. Adoption of management style,<br> good communication, and strong teams are among the least cited<br> CSF. Contributions and Impact in the IS area: Our results can help<br> organizations in new agile transformation initiatives. Such CSF<br> are interrelated and, if taken into consideration, have an impor-<br> tant effect on the success of the agile transformation. Moreover,<br> management should consider the business through a systemic and<br> holistic view because those CSFs can positively impact the agile<br> transformation.</p>

Aspen Plus v12 models for design a project-based learning on developing a novel technology for slurry management

<p>Preliminary investigation on the likelihood of trapping CO<sub>2</sub> and NH<sub>3</sub>, which are emitted at a rate of 132 mg/h and up to 5.1 &ndash; 510 mg/h during the storage of manure at 25 &deg;C, in brines of NaCl and CaCl<sub>2</sub> was conducted in Aspen Plus&reg; v12. The supersaturated solution of 0.5 kg H<sub>2</sub>O and 10 kg salt was considered to account for any possible absorption in the liquid film that is generated during the deliquescence phenomenon.&nbsp;Only in the case of using the CaCl<sub>2</sub> as dehydrating agent (anhydrous salt) in the prototype, the simulation in the commercial package predicted the absorption of CO<sub>2</sub> and NH<sub>3</sub> and formation of CaCO<sub>3</sub>&nbsp;and NH<sub>4</sub>Cl. On the other hand, the extents of formation of NaHCO<sub>3</sub>, and even NH<sub>4</sub>HCO<sub>3</sub> or NH<sub>4</sub>COONH<sub>2</sub>&nbsp;were found to be negligible under the conditions that the prototype operates.&nbsp;Prediction of the solubilities of NaCl, NH<sub>4</sub>Cl, NaHCO<sub>3</sub>, CaCO<sub>3</sub>, Ca(OH)<sub>2</sub>, CaCl<sub>2</sub>, CaCl<sub>2</sub>&middot;H<sub>2</sub>O, CaCl<sub>2</sub>&middot;2H<sub>2</sub>O, CaCl<sub>2</sub>&middot;4H<sub>2</sub>O, and CaCl<sub>2</sub>&middot;6H<sub>2</sub>O in the temperature range 0 &ndash; 100 &deg;C at 1 atm.</p>
