GIOTTO RADIO SCIENCE ORIGINAL EXPERIMENT DATA V1.0
The Giotto Radio Science Original Experiment Data Set includes two types of data -- an Archival Tracking Data File (ATDF) from closed loop receivers and Original Data Records (ODRs) from open loop receivers.
MO MARS RADIO SCIENCE 1 ORIGINAL/INTERMEDIATE DATA REC V1.0
The data set consists of several CD-WO volumes which contain radiometric and open loop data acquired from the Mars Observer spacecraft during its Cruise between Earth and Mars. The basic data are supplemented by ancillary data including DSN weather files and media calibrations, spacecraft maneuver information, and operations schedules. There are fourteen data types.
DEEP IMPACT 9P/TEMPEL 1 ENCOUNTER - RADIO SCIENCE DATA V1.0
This data set contains raw radio science data from the Deep Impact flyby spacecraft, collected during the encounter with comet 9P/Tempel 1.
MESSENGER V/H RADIO SCIENCE SUBSYSTEM 1 EDR V1.0
This data set contains archival raw, partially processed, and ancillary/supporting radio science data acquired during the MESSENGER mission. The radio observations were carried out using the MESSENGER spacecraft and Earth-based receiving stations of the NASA Deep Space Network (DSN). The observations were designed to be part of a data set that is of sufficient quality and quantity to generate high-resolution gravity field models of Mercury. Of most interest are likely to be the Orbit Data Files in the ODF directory. The data range from 2006 to 2014; there are gaps in the data.
VEX DSN RADIO SCIENCE RAW DATA-ENT V1.0
This data set contains archival raw, partially processed, and ancillary/supporting radio science data acquired during the Extended Operations (ENT) phase of the Venus Express (VEX) mission using ground facilities of the NASA Deep Space Network (DSN). This data set will be combined with other data collected using antennas of the European Space Agency (ESA) and submitted to the ESA Planetary Science Archive. These observations were designed to determine the gravity field of Venus; density of the upper atmosphere through drag measurements; the temperature-pressure and absorption structure of the neutral Venus atmosphere; and the electron density profile of the ionosphere. No bistatic radar (BSR) and solar conjunction (SCO) observations were conducted during the ENT phase because of a 15 dB degradation in performance of the S-Band radio system in late 2006 (before ENT began). Of most interest in the ENT archive will be the Radio Science Receiver (RSR) files in the RSR directory, which provided the raw input to the radio occultation investigations of the neutral atmosphere and ionosphere, and the Orbit Data Files (ODFs), which provided the raw input to gravity and drag investigations. The ENT phase, for purposes of this archive, began after the completion of the Routine Operations Phase (2007-10-02, the end of the primary mission) and continued to the end of the VEX mission.
MRO RADIO SCIENCE DERIVED GRAVITY SCIENCE DATA PRODUCTS V1.0
This data set contains archival results from gravity investigations conducted during the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) mission. Radio measurements were made using the MRO spacecraft and Earth-based stations of the NASA Deep Space Network (DSN). The data set includes high-resolution spherical harmonic models of Mars' gravity field generated by groups at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Goddard Space Flight Center, covariance matrices for some models, and maps for some models; these results were derived from raw radio tracking data. Updates to the archive may include derived line-of-sight acceleration profile.
MRO MARS RAW RADIO SCIENCE 1 V1.0
This data set contains archival raw, partially processed, and ancillary/supporting radio science data acquired during the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) mission. The radio observations were carried out using the MRO spacecraft and Earth-based receiving stations of the NASA Deep Space Network (DSN). The data set was designed primarily to support generation of high-resolution gravity field models for Mars and secondarily for estimating density and structure of the Mars atmosphere. Of most interest are likely to be the Orbit Data Files and Radio Science Receiver files in the ODF and RSR directories, respectively, which provided the raw input to gravity and atmospheric investigations, as well as the ionospheric and tropospheric media calibration files in the ION and TRO directories, respectively.
MARS EXPLORATION ROVER 1 RADIO SCIENCE SUBSYSTEM EDR V1.0
This archive contains raw radio science data and supporting media calibration acquired during the Mars Exploration Rover surface operations. The radio observations were carried out using the Earth-based receiving stations of the NASA Deep Space Network (DSN), providing measurements of the range-rate (Doppler) between Earth and MER1 and with the Mars Odyssey orbiter, providing measurements of the range-rate (Doppler) between MER1 and the Odyssey orbiter.
NEAR EROS RADIO SCIENCE DATA SET - EROS/FLYBY V1.0
The NEAR Eros Radio Science Data Set is a time-ordered collection of raw and partially processed data collected during the NEAR flyby of minor planet 433 Eros.
VO2 MARS RADIO SCIENCE SUBSYSTEM RESAMPLED LOS GRAVITY V1.0
Line of sight (LOS) gravity data were obtained as part of the Radio Science Experiment by tracking 79 orbits of the Viking Orbiter 2. The data set consists of a table with the following columns: spacecraft latitude, longitude (degrees), accelerations, and altitude (km). The acceleration data were determined from differentiation of raw Doppler residuals and are expressed as units of mm/s**2. To obtain LOS gravity in milligals, accelerations need to be multiplied by 100. An acceleration of 1.20 mm/s**2, therefore, corresponds to 120 mgal, a large gravity anomaly.
GIOTTO RADIO SCIENCE EXPERIMENT DATA V1.0
The Giotto Radio Science Experiment data set consists of four tables. Each table contains a measurement value listed as a function of time. The measurements are: closed-loop receiver carrier signal amplitude, closed-loop receiver carrier frequency residual, open-loop receiver carrier signal amplitude, and open-loop receiver carrier frequency.
