Quantitative raw data for D1.3 - "Requirements and motivations of quadruple helix stakeholders for active engagement in the Citizen Science"

<p>This dataset presents the quantitative raw data that was collected under the H2020 INCENTIVE project for the D1.3 -&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Requirements and motivations of quadruple helix stakeholders for active engagement in the Citizen Science Hubs&rdquo;. The dataset includes the answers that were provided by almost 2,000 participants from 4 pilot European countries (Greece, Lithuania, Spain, and the Netherlands) regarding the general public&#39;s perceptions, attitudes, concerns, motivational factors and obstacles with regard to participation in Citizen Science activities. The original survey questionnaire was created and disseminated through the EUSurvey platform, and data collection took place from April to June 2021. For the statistical analysis of the data and the conclusions drawn from the analysis, you can access the D1.3 - &quot;Requirements and motivations of quadruple helix stakeholders for active engagement in the Citizen Science Hubs&rdquo;.</p> <p>Under INCENTIVE, four Citizen Science Hubs will be established and tested during the life-span of the project in the facilities of four Research Performing and Funding Organisations (RPFOs): University of Twente (the Netherlands), Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania). Essentially, the Hubs will aim to bring different stakeholders together and bridge society with science under the emerging paradigm of Citizen Science, in an institutionalised way.</p>

<p>Underlying data of soil measurements and analysis by TUC team for&nbsp;&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;&ldquo;The Impact of Soil-Improving Cropping Practices on Erosion Rates: A Stakeholder-Oriented Field Experiment Assessment&rdquo; <a href="https://doi.org/10.3390/land10090964">https://doi.org/10.3390/land10090964</a> from the&nbsp;SoilCare project study sites in Crete.&nbsp;</p> <p>Abstract:</p> <p>The risk of erosion is particularly high in Mediterranean areas, especially in areas that are subject to a not so effective agricultural management&ndash;or with some omissions&ndash;, land abandonment or wildfires. Soils on Crete are under imminent threat of desertification, characterized by loss of vegetation, water erosion, and subsequently, loss of soil. Several large-scale studies have estimated average soil erosion on the island between 6 and 8 Mg/ha/year, but more localized investigations assess soil losses one order of magnitude higher. An experiment initiated in 2017, under the framework of the SoilCare H2020 EU project, aimed to evaluate the effect of different management practices on the soil erosion. The experiment was set up in control versus treatment experimental design including different sets of treatments, targeting the most important cultivations on Crete (olive orchards, vineyards, fruit orchards). The minimum-to-no tillage practice was adopted as an erosion mitigation practice for the olive orchard study site, while for the vineyard site, the cover crop practice was used. For the fruit orchard field, the crop-type change procedure (orange to avocado) was used. The experiment demonstrated that soil-improving cropping techniques have an important impact on soil erosion, and as a result, on soil water conservation that is of primary importance, especially for the Mediterranean dry regions. The demonstration of the findings is of practical use to most stakeholders, especially those that live and work with the local land.</p>

Participant observation data from local, storytelling, multi-stakeholder energy policy workshops

<p>The SHAPE ENERGY (EU Horizon 2020) undertook 17 multi-stakeholder energy policy workshops over November 2017 &ndash; May 2018. These workshops were mostly in partnership with municipalities who posed local energy problems that needed to be &lsquo;solved&rsquo;. The workshops brought local stakeholders together through storytelling facilitation techniques. The included data herein are anonymised components of the completed participant observation templates that partners used at these workshops. In particular, the data predominately relates to the conversational exchanges in one very closely monitored session across all the workshops.</p>

Report of the Focus Group with Stakeholders in the Middle-East

<p>As part of the MENARA project, the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs&nbsp;at the American University of Beirut (IFI &ndash; AUB) organized a focus group in Beirut (Lebanon) on 2&nbsp;November 2018 with twelve scholars, experts, civil society leaders and activists from Lebanon and&nbsp;the Arab Middle East.&nbsp;</p> <p>The&nbsp;discussions were linked to the general aims of the MENARA project &ndash; characterizing the regional&nbsp;order, defining scenarios and discussing policy options for the EU &ndash; and was initially (informally)&nbsp;structured in four parts (though participants themselves were allowed to take the discussion in&nbsp;directions that made sense to them):</p> <p>1. Regional rivalries and new regional order<br> 2. State&ndash;society dynamics<br> 3. The role of the EU and other external actors<br> 4. Future scenarios</p> <p>This report contains the summary of the discussion during the focus group.</p>

The Middle East in 2025: Stakeholder's Engagement Meeting Report

<p>On 10 and 11 January 2019, the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), in collaboration with the Near East&nbsp;and South Asia (NESA) Center for&nbsp;Strategic Studies of the United States Department of Defense&nbsp;and the Qatar Armed Forces Strategic Studies Center (QAFSSC),&nbsp;organized the second MENARA&nbsp;Stakeholders&rsquo; Engagement Meeting with 32 participants, including representatives of&nbsp;Qatar&rsquo;s&nbsp;government, academics and experts from Europe, the United States and the Persian Gulf region.</p> <p>The goal of the meeting was among others to discuss and test some of the Project&#39;s preliminary&nbsp;findings with regard to the regional&nbsp;order in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and the role&nbsp;of the European Union (EU) and other external players in the region with a group of authoritative&nbsp;stakeholders.&nbsp;This report summarizes the discussion during that meeting.</p> <p>This activity is part of&nbsp;the EU research project&nbsp;Middle East North Africa Regional Architecture&nbsp;(MENARA).</p>

Data stewards function landscape and its stakeholders

<p>The Figure shows the three main working areas of a data steward (Blue, purple and green circles). All three areas together ensure that research carried out at institutes or in projects produces FAIR data along the data life cycle. Data stewards interface and communicate between three stakeholders: 1) The policy makers such as funders, universities, the EU and the institutes&rsquo; deans. This group of stakeholders have a saying in how data should be handled; &nbsp;2) The researchers and data scientists who produce data and work with the data on a daily basis with focus on research. They need to be enabled to handle data in a way which is policy compliant without losing the power to execute their research; And finally 3) the data and IT infrastructure providers, like ICT staff, technicians and application managers. This stakeholder group provides tools to which implement certain data policies and hence make it easier for scientists to manage their data in a policy compliant way. The three stakeholder groups are characterised by their own field of expertise and terminology. Data stewards can communicate between these stakeholder groups and provide hence the interface between fields of expertise.</p>

Burger) have removed four clutches (note they are bound together, making it possible to identify the eggs of three different females). Once females lay eggs, they exude a liquid that binds the eggs together. This partly prevents other females from disrupting the clutch and accidentally removing them to the outside while they are digging their own side chambers.

<p>This Table sets out findings from the mapping exercise conducted as part of the objectives of subtask 6.1 of the RRING project.</p> <p>Aim: Alignment of RRI to advance the UN SDGs.</p> <p>Objectives:</p> <ul> <li>Mapping the RSSR to the SDGs&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>Mapping the RSSR to the SDGs is aimed at providing new perspectives, ideas and approaches that can help to improve the operationalization and implementation of each SDG,&nbsp;<em>by facilitating the integration of RRI (or RRI-like) practices in the SDGs, to make them more achievable.</em>&nbsp;The&nbsp;impact&nbsp;of the new perspectives, ideas and approaches in SDG operationalization and implementation will be aimed at the level of&nbsp;<em>national and international policy (making); future research and innovation projects (in industry and academia); as well as education and training of researchers, policy makers and other stakeholders.</em></p> <p>Two documents were used for this task:</p> <ul> <li>2017 Recommendation on Science and Scientific Researchers ([RSSR], UNESCO), and</li> <li>the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).</li> </ul>

Master database for publication "Stakeholder engagement and knowledge co-production for better watershed management with the Freshwater Health Index"

<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The spreadsheet is the master database used for the research with the title of &quot;Stakeholder engagement and knowledge co-production for better watershed management with the Freshwater Health Index&quot; to be published on&nbsp;<em>Current Research in Environmental Sustainability</em> in late 2022.</p> <p>The data include narratives for six principles on stakeholder engagement and knowledge co-production. These principles were derived by combining&nbsp;Talley et al&rsquo;s&nbsp;five principles for effective stakeholder engagement (Talley et al. 2016) with Norstr&ouml;m et al&rsquo;s&nbsp;four&nbsp;principles for knowledge co-production (Norstr&ouml;m et al. 2020). The six principles were&nbsp;aligned with the components of the freshwater health index (FHI) framework. Project leaders from&nbsp;nine FHI case studies&nbsp;completed a text table based on the description of the six principles and their FHI factors. This process generated the present master qualitative database with narrative responses.&nbsp;</p> <p>The socio-ecological context for each case study is provided for contextualization.</p>

Stakeholders of the EU ETS - Interviews

<p>The interview were realised in the context of the PLATO project. PLATO investigates the legitimacy of the EU&rsquo;s responses to the financial crisis. It uses the example of the financial crisis to build and test theory of what would amount to a legitimacy crisis in the case of a multi-state, non-state political system such as the EU. PLATO generates new understandings of the EU&rsquo;s legitimacy crisis through multiple, connected case studies undertaken by 15 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs).&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><a>Project flyer: https://www.plato.uio.no/plato-itn-flyer.pdf</a>&nbsp;</p> <p>In my PhD project I examine how stakeholders involved in the public debate on the EU&rsquo;s emissions trading scheme (ETS) justify, criticise and legitimise it.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The data is semi-structured interviews with stakeholders. The interviews aim at collecting data on the stakeholders&rsquo; position in the negotiations and on their organization&rsquo;s viewpoints.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Personal information (such as age, gender, professional position or political opinions) were not collected.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The objective of this interview is twofold:&nbsp;</p> <p>- Understanding the ETS negotiations and the stakeholders&rsquo; interests&nbsp;</p> <p>- Identifying the social norms the stakeholders use to justify the ETS and the EU&nbsp;</p> <p>- Identify how stakeholders criticise the ETS&nbsp;</p>
