Data from: Overyielding in young tree plantations is driven by local complementarity and selection effects related to shade tolerance

1. Overyielding in mixed-species forests has been demonstrated in a vast body of literature, and the focus of functional biodiversity research is now shifting towards a mechanistic understanding of these observations. 2. We explored diversity-productivity relationships (DPRs) at two sites of a large-scale tree diversity experiment, with benign (Zed) and harsh (Ged) environmental conditions for plantation establishment. Additive partitioning methodologies were adopted to detect phenomenological patterns in the productivity data, and the trait structure of mixed communities was used to advance insights into compositional effects. 3. After six years of plantation development, biomass productivity was significantly higher in mixtures compared to the monocultures of component species. We observed that processes operated through direct tree-tree interactions, since the diversity signal disappeared where trees in mixed stands were surrounded by conspecific neighbors only. This result is particularly relevant for mixed-species planation systems, as trees are commonly planted in monospecific patches to simplify the management. Partitioning unveiled strong selection effects at both plantation sites. However, at the Ged-site this was caused by competitive dominance of species with fast young growth whereas at the Zed-site, species with slow young growth improved their performances but not at the expense of others (i.e. trait-dependent complementarity). Species tolerance to shading is an influential trait to predict biodiversity effects, with community-weighted means in shade tolerance mediating dominance effects (Ged) and functional diversity in shade tolerance mediating (trait-dependent) complementarity effects (Zed). 4. Synthesis. This study highlights that biodiversity effects in young tree plantations could be explained by the functional composition of mixed communities, with a key role for species levels of shade tolerance. As contrasting results between plantation sites were observed, future research should target the context-dependency of DPRs.

Dados complementares do artigo: Ética e Responsabilidade na Era da Inteligência Artificial: Um Survey com Estudantes de Computação

<p>Este estudo analisou a composi&ccedil;&atilde;o demogr&aacute;fica e a exposi&ccedil;&atilde;o educacional &agrave; &eacute;tica em uma amostra de 172 participantes, majoritariamente do g&ecirc;nero masculino (84,3%, equivalente a 145 indiv&iacute;duos), com uma presen&ccedil;a menor do g&ecirc;nero feminino (16%). A faixa et&aacute;ria predominante foi de 17 a 23 anos, representando 69,2% dos participantes, seguida por 24 a 28 anos com 19,1%. A maioria dos respondentes (81,4%) estava cursando o ensino superior, demonstrando o perfil jovem e acad&ecirc;mico da amostra. Outros n&iacute;veis de forma&ccedil;&atilde;o inclu&iacute;ram mestrado (12,2%), doutorado (4,7%) e especializa&ccedil;&atilde;o/MBA (1,7%).</p> <p>No que se refere &agrave; familiaridade com quest&otilde;es &eacute;ticas e responsabilidade na computa&ccedil;&atilde;o, constatou-se que 56,9% dos participantes j&aacute; haviam cursado alguma disciplina sobre &eacute;tica. Entretanto, apenas 29,6% desses estudantes relataram ter discutido quest&otilde;es &eacute;ticas ligadas &agrave; Intelig&ecirc;ncia Artificial nessas disciplinas. Quanto ao n&iacute;vel educacional no qual a &eacute;tica foi estudada, 38,51% abordaram o tema no ensino m&eacute;dio, 17,57% no ensino m&eacute;dio t&eacute;cnico, 27% na gradua&ccedil;&atilde;o e 6,8% no mestrado, enquanto 16,3% dos participantes afirmaram nunca ter estudado &eacute;tica, mesmo que alguns tenham indicado a abordagem do tema em mais de um n&iacute;vel educacional.</p>

Documentos Complementares para a Dissertação: Micro-Frontends: Estratégias e Diretrizes para Lidar com os Impactos e Desafios da sua Adoção

<p><strong>Contexto:</strong> A complexidade associada &agrave; incorpora&ccedil;&atilde;o de novas tecnologias em projetos monol&iacute;ticos da camada frontend tem representado um desafio para &agrave;s equipes de desenvolvimento de software. Enquanto o backend avan&ccedil;ou com microsservi&ccedil;os, o frontend enfrentou obst&aacute;culos relacionados &agrave; redund&acirc;ncia de c&oacute;digo, consist&ecirc;ncia, escalabilidade e aus&ecirc;ncia de uma abordagem modular. Em resposta a esses desafios, surgiu a arquitetura de micro-frontends, propondo uma arquitetura modular e mais independente.</p> <p><strong>Objetivo:</strong> Investigar os impactos e desafios associados &agrave; ado&ccedil;&atilde;o da arquitetura de micro-frontends e fornecer diretrizes pr&aacute;ticas para as organiza&ccedil;&otilde;es implement&aacute;-las.</p> <p><strong>M&eacute;todo:</strong> Conduziumos uma Revis&atilde;o Sistem&aacute;tica da Literatura (SLR) para identificar os padr&otilde;es e vis&otilde;es arquiteturais utilizados nos micro-frontends. Al&eacute;m disso, conduzimos dois surveys para validar estrat&eacute;gias e diretrizes na ado&ccedil;&atilde;o da arquitetura.</p> <p><strong>Resultados:</strong> Na percep&ccedil;&atilde;o dos participantes dos surveys o guia proposto pode facilitar o processo de ado&ccedil;&atilde;o da arquitetura de micro-frontends. Quanto ao estudo de caso, identificamos aspectos relacionados &agrave; implementa&ccedil;&atilde;o pr&aacute;tica, abrangendo desempenho e escalabilidade, manuten&ccedil;&atilde;o, colabora&ccedil;&atilde;o e desenvolvimento paralelo. Os participantes tamb&eacute;m relataram complexidade associada &agrave; gest&atilde;o de m&uacute;ltiplos m&oacute;dulos menores, bem como a falta de experi&ecirc;ncia por parte dos desenvolvedores com as tecnologias da arquitetura de micro-frontends. O estudo de caso tamb&eacute;m ratificou os achados dos surveys.</p> <p><strong>Conclus&atilde;o:</strong> As descobertas destacaram a relev&acirc;ncia da arquitetura Micro-frontends na moderniza&ccedil;&atilde;o da camada frontend. No entanto, &eacute; importante ressaltar que a necessidade de sua ado&ccedil;&atilde;o est&aacute; fortemente relacionada &agrave; complexidade e tamanho do projeto e do time.
