The test consisted of giving unseen <sup>14</sup>C results to the AI experts to see whether Enoch (date prediction model) would give date prediction estimates that match the <sup>14</sup>C results. However, at the start of the test, it was unknown to the AI experts that the samples were chosen because <sup>14</sup>C results were available for them. The <sup>14</sup>C results were taken from the 1990s <sup>14</sup>C dating of the Dead Sea Scrolls [1,2]. The assumption was that the manuscripts chosen were not contaminated with castor oil as these manuscripts were not handled by the original team of editors in the 1950s [3,4,5]. This applies to 1QIsa<sup>a</sup>, 1QpHab, 1QapGen, 1QS, 1QH<sup>a</sup>, 11Q19, Mas1l. Two more manuscripts were added for other reasons. 4Q53 was added because scholars assume that it was written by the same scribe as 1QS. 4Q319 was added because it is actually the same manuscript as 4Q259 [6], which was subjected to <sup>14</sup>C dating by our own project. The test was filmed. Film Programming in the USSR: A Case Study of Moscow Cinemas (1946–1955)
<p>This paper presents a database on film programming in Moscow cinemas between 1946 and 1955. It outlines the place of this research at the intersection of new cinema history and academic debates on film distribution in the field of Soviet history. The paper describes the data collection, the coding to present the data, and the structure of the database, which consists of the three datasets on Moscow film programming (1946–1955), Moscow cinemas (1946–1955), and the 1952 film calendar. Concluding remarks summarize the knowledge obtained from the database and introduce the Soviet case into the international context of digital data collections for historical cinema studies.</p>
Slasher film editing data
<p>This data set contains shot length data for five slasher films: Halloween (1978), Halloween (2007), Friday the Thirteenth (1980), Friday the Thirteenth (2009), and Slumber Party Massacre (1982).</p> <p>Data was collected by loading each film into a non-linear editing programme and recording the duration of each shot in seconds. As PAL DVD sources are used a correction factor of 1.0416 is applied to the duration of each shot. A <em>shot</em> is defined as a continuous sequence of frames and a <em>cut</em> as the transition between two shots. A cut may be hard with an abrupt transition between consecutive frames belonging to different shots or it may be gradual across a number of frames (e.g. wipe, dissolve, etc) with the cut located at the approximate midpoint of the transition. The data for each film includes titles establishing time, date, and location, but does not include the opening and closing credits unless they are a part of the film’s narrative.</p>
Amorphous carbon films generated through simulated deposition with GAP from 1eV to 100eV
<p>These amorphous carbon films were generated following the deposition protocol and methodology outlined by Caro et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. <strong>120</strong>, 166101 (2018) and, in more detail, in Caro et al. Phys. Rev. B <strong>102</strong>, 174201 (2020). Briefly, the structures were generated by depositing monoenergetic C atoms on a preexisting diamond (111) substrate. The interatomic potential used was the a-C GAP of Deringer and Csányi [Phys. Rev. B <strong>95</strong>, 094203 (2017)] and the molecular dynamics simulations (MD) were carried out with QUIP's GAP implementation [http://libatoms.github.io/] using LAMMPS [https://lammps.sandia.gov/] as MD engine.</p> <p>The final structures of the deposition simulations at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.5, 8, 10, 20, 60 and 100eV are provided in extended XYZ format, with obvious naming convention.</p>

<p>Two short feature films were recorded with a virtual background by using a green screen in a film studio and previously scanned 3D spaces in a virtual production environment and conventionally (in the corresponding real spaces) to compare the aesthetics and perception of these films. One scene of each film is shown in two variants (real vs. virtual background) to make a comparison.</p> <p>These quicktime movie represent the Eye-Tracking Data for Scenes 1,2 and 3 of "Sonnenwende" (2019) by Timo von Gunten in beeswarm form for both the real and the virtual version of the film.</p> <p>Virtually Real is a research project by the Zurich University of the Arts, Institute for the Performing Arts and Film and the University of Bern, Institute of Psychology.</p>

This main goal of this project was to collaboratively create a database on early African-American silent race films by drawing together information in a wide range of primary and secondary sources. For the purpose of this project, we determined that we would only include silent films created before 1930 for African-American audiences.<em> </em>This definition was the main factor that informed our decisions to include or exclude pieces of data. (You can read more about how we arrived at our definition here: http://dhbasecamp.humanities.ucla.edu/afamfilm/whatis/definition/.)</p> <p>The database we have created contains information on films, actors, production companies, and other aspects of early silent-era African American race films. The database is intended to allow the public to learn about this period in film history that is too rarely discussed.</p>
Images for "Nano-scale magnetic skyrmions in metallic films and multilayers: a new twist for spintronics"
<p>Magnetic skyrmions are chiral quasiparticles that show promise for the transportation and storage of information. On a fundamental level, skyrmions are model systems for topologically protected spin textures and can be considered as the counterpart of topologically protected electronic states, emphasizing the role of topology in the classification of complex states of condensed matter. Recent impressive demonstrations of control of individual nanometer-scale skyrmions—including their creation, detection, manipulation and deletion—have raised expectations for their use in future spintronic devices, including magnetic memories and logic gates. From a materials perspective, it is remarkable that skyrmions can be stabilized in ultrathin transition metal films, such as Fe—one of the most abundant elements on earth—if these are in contact with materials that exhibit high spin-orbit coupling. At present, research in this field is focused on the development of transition-metal-based magnetic multilayer structures that support skyrmionic states at room temperature and allow for precise control of skyrmions by spin-polarized currents and external fields.</p>
