Assessing the influence of organizational factors on knowledge sharing in inter-firm collaborations
<p><span>Collaborations between media organisations are becoming an increasingly common practice in the field of journalism. Academic research, so far, mostly focused on large-scale investigations and communities of digital outlets, such as fact-checkers networks. However, new types of inter-firm partnerships are emerging, namely between legacy media and tech startups, towards media innovation and digital transformation. The paper to which this database is connected aims to advance the theoretical understanding of the relationship between collaborations and media innovation. We formulate an original analytical model to assess the influence of organisational factors of collaborations on knowledge sharing, a key condition for explorative innovation. Based on the experience of the Stars4Media programme, we present an empirical application of the analytical model (based on this data-set) to a case study of thirty collaborative projects involving seventy-six European media companies.</span></p>

Fig. 5 in Spatial and temporal distribution of Gymnorhamphichthys rondoni (Gymnotiformes: Rhamphichthyidae) in a long-term study of an Amazonian terra firme stream, Leticia - Colombia
Fig. 5. Heat map showing the probability of finding Gymnorhamphichthys rondoni individuals within any quadrant of the grid located in a terra firme stream in Leticia, Amazonas. White represents zero probability. Dark blue represents the lowest probability for quadrants in which G. rondoni rested during the day (1.45%) while red represents the highest probability (36.2%) of finding an individual resting within a given quadrant. Notice that individuals were never found in the white quadrants, which dried out during low water periods.

Fig. 4. Monthly distribution of Gymnorhamphichthys rondoni within the grid in the Yahuarcaca terra firme stream in Leticia, Amazonas. The continuous line represents the maximum stream width reached during high water months, and the dashed line the minimum stream width reached in low water months. a. to m. Each sketch represents a sampling month and each number represents the total number of G. rondoni individuals found during five to six days at each quadrant for that particular month.

The nearest neighbor distance between all individuals of Gymnorhamphichthys rondoni found within the grid for all sampling days during all thirteen months (linear regression, n= 1375; p= 0.45; r2= 0.0004). The daily ratio of departure from a random distribution (R) within the grid for all sampling days during all thirteen months for b. Exponential Model (r2 = 0.09; F = 6.4; p = 0.014) and c. Probing the molecular basis of fruit firmness in southern highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum hybrid) through RNA sequencing
<p><span>Blueberries (<em>Vaccinium corymbosum L</em>.) benefit from increased fruit firmness because of consumer preference and machine harvestability. However, the genetic component of fruit texture and skin thickness and their relationship to firmness have yet to be deciphered. This study used bulked segregant RNA-seq (BSR-seq) for differential gene expression analysis. Previously an F1 population of a cross between firm-fruited southern highbush cv. 'Reveille' and soft-fruited cv. 'Arlen' was developed in our laboratory. The total RNA of the parents, the two softest, and the two firmest progenies, were extracted at the breaker and fully ripe stages. Next-generation sequencing cDNA libraries were constructed and subjected to Illumina short-read sequencing. Subsequently, the short reads were mapped to a blueberry genome, and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified in immature and mature fruit coded for potentially biologically significant proteins such as expansins, polygalacturonase, polygalacturonase-inhibiting protein, and mannosidase. Additionally, DEGs corresponding to cysteine proteases and S-adenyl methyltransferases (SAM-MTases) that were previously reported as candidate genes for blueberry firmness were identified in this study. Our results indicated that BSR-seq is a promising method for identifying major candidate genes controlling complex traits in blueberry. </span></p>
Data from: Early Firm Engagement, Government Research Funding, and the Privatization of Public Knowledge
<p>This is a demo and partial dataset of a full dataset of paper- patent pair from chinese chemical scholars. The full dataset covers the published English papers and the paired patents by some of the scholars of the chemical and pharmaceutical field who received the Distinguished Young Scholars of the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) during 2009–2018. Data related to the papers are obtained from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and WoS; data related to the scholars are obtained from the NSFC website, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MSTC) website, and the scholars' home pages; and data related to the patents are obtained from the CNIPA website. The dataset also covers the data on the average number of patent infringement cases at the prefecture level from China Judgements Online (CJO) using crawlers and text mining techniques to reflect the degree of local intellectual property protection (IPR). Besides the paper information, the dataset also contains the corresponding scholars' funding information and the paired patents<a href="#_ftn1">[1]</a> information gathered through “patent–paper pairs.”</p> <p>This demo datasets covers about 1/15 samples of the full datast. The detail variable explanation will be found in the "label" and "Notes" column after every variable name in the DTA data file. As a series of related papers are published, we will gradually publish the full data set.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="#_ftnref1">[1]</a> A small number of papers may be paired with multiple patents. We deal with the situation of multiple paired patents when constructing variables. See “Variable” section of original paper for detailed illustrations. </p>
