Integrating this information with LBF distribution patterns in time and space could provide useful understanding of species dispersal. Note the dominant east-west currents in the equatorial region. This is suggestive of Cenomanian LBF taxa arising in the Middle East and dispersing westwards (see for example comments on Moncharmontia apenninica and Schlagintweit & Yazdi-Moghadam (2021)).
