Genomic analyses reveal the influence of geographic origin, migration and hybridization on modern dog breed development
GEO Series GSE96736. Canis lupus familiaris. 158 samples. Type: Genome variation profiling by SNP array.
Figure 3. A–D in Insights into the geographical origin and phylogeographical patterns of Paradisaea birds-of-paradise
Figure 3. A–D, Chronological sequence of ancestral areas inferred for major nodes/clades (N1–N13) discussed in the text and in Table 2 (see Fig. 2 for node numbers). In the lower panels (C, D), colonization routes from their centres of origin (parental nodes) are represented by arrows for each species and Clades 1–3 within the apoda–minor–raggiana clade. See also the Supporting Information, File S1 (to be opened with Google Earth) that was generated with SPREAD and shows a dynamic visualization of colonization pathways across the island.
Figure 1 in Insights into the geographical origin and phylogeographical patterns of Paradisaea birds-of-paradise
Figure 1. Map of New Guinea and adjacent islands including sampling points of individuals sequenced in the course of this study. Shape files for the distribution of the apoda–minor–raggiana clade (i.e. P. apoda, P. minor and P. raggiana) were obtained from the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (BirdLife International, 2016, 2018a, b). Individuals no. 113–115 were originally determined as P. apoda. However, a re-examination revealed that while it is difficult to correctly assign these subadult individuals, their overall body size is indicative of P. raggiana. Also note that other individuals mentioned in the text (no. 49, 90, 131 and 154) were sampled outside the known native range of the respective species.
