JWST ERS Ice Age NIRCam WFSS initial team release, Version 1
<p>Initial repository for the full set of "working" version Ice Age NIRCam data, as of December 2023.</p> <p>This repository contains the best representative subset of the spectra from the WFSS extraction, that will be published in Noble et al. (2024, in prep.) and Smith et al. (2024, in prep.). See the included README file for more details.</p> <p>At this stage, the NIRCam WFSS spectra extracted using the Ice Age pipeline are a proprietary science product and will be publically embargoed until the publication of the final NIRCam team paper in the Nature Astronomy series that we are working on this year. Usage of these NIRCam science products for a project or proposal prior to the public data release requires registering that project or proposal with the Ice Age management team so that they can coordinate between projects/proposals, and an opt-out option for key members of the NIRCam science team. A Zenodo account is necessary to access these data. These data are only available at present to Ice Age team members.</p> <p>A request to access these data implies acknowledgement and acceptance of these access conditions.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>

Data from: The Carpathians hosted extra-Mediterranean refugia-within-refugia during the Pleistocene Ice Age: genomic evidence from two newt genera
Part of Europe's temperate species survived the Pleistocene glacial cycles in refugia north of the Mediterranean peninsulas. For one such extra-Mediterranean refugia, the Carpathians, an intricate 'refugia-within-refugia' scenario has been suggested, involving species surviving in multiple discrete glacial refugia. We test the Carpathian refugia-within-refugia hypothesis, employing genome-wide multilocus data sets for two newt species (Triturus cristatus and Lissotriton montandoni). We first use Bayesian clustering to delineate intraspecific evolutionary lineages. The number of intraspecific lineages identified, and the allocation of localities to these lineages, were used to construct testable hypotheses on the spatial arrangement of glacial refugia in both newt species. Next we employ approximate Bayesian computation to date whether these lineages are of Holocene (< 12 Ka) or Pleistocene (> 12 Ka) origin. We identify three intraspecific evolutionary lineages for T. cristatus and two for L. montandoni. For both newt species, intraspecific divergence is rooted in the Pleistocene, in line with species survival in distinct range fragments during the last glacial period. Hence, our findings firmly support the Carpathian refugia-within-refugia hypothesis. Furthermore, we show that mitochondrial DNA overestimates the age of intraspecific evolutionary lineages and we urge caution in basing refugia-within-refugia scenarios on mitochondrial DNA alone.

Radiostratigraphy and Age Structure of the Greenland Ice Sheet V001
This data set contains the traced deep radiostratigraphy of the Greenland Ice Sheet from airborne deep ice-penetrating radar data collected by The University of Kansas Improved Coherent Radar Depth Sounder (ICORDS), Advanced Coherent Radar Depth Sounder (ACORDS), Multi-Channel Radar Depth Sounder (MCRDS), and Multichannel Coherent Radar Depth Sounder (MCoRDS) instruments between 1993 and 2013. This is an IceBridge-related data set.
A continuous margin of the Greenland Ice Sheet for the Little Ice Age maximum
<p>The LIA extent was identified and extracted using known techniques of band combinations in remote sensing but applied to look at a terrestrial landscape through a new lens. The marginal zone of the LIA is denoted by little or no vegetation, disturbed sediment, moraines, trimlines, little or no soil development and the exposed rock surfaces are unweathered. Sentinel 2 images were downloaded from USGS Earth Explorer from July- September 2021 to show the peak vegetation season. Scenes with less than 10% cloudiness were chosen. The band combination to identify the LIA extent is B11 (Short Wave Infrared: SWIR), B8 (Near Infrared: NIR), and B2 (Blue). </p><p>The Reclassify Spatial Analyst tool was used to perform an unsupervised classification and geoprocessing to change the value in a raster, from a range to a single value. Image classification is the conversion of a multi-band raster image, such as Sentinel-2, to a single-band raster with defined categories to represent the desired land cover.</p><p>The mask is a visual map of the entire area covered by the GrIS during the LIA maximum. </p><p> The LIA mask was created in projection Stereographic North (ESPG3413) to match the BedMachine product. The data is available for use in 30 x 30m, 150 x 150m and 1 x 1km resolutions in NetCDF Files. It is also available as .tif in 30 x 30m, 150 x 150m and 1 x 1km resolutions and a .shp and .kmz files to be useable in modelling, GIS (Arc & QGIS), and Google Earth. </p>
