Scripts, inputs and outputs of Module 3 BN analysis and impact assessment regarding Deliverable D6.3 "Performance and Impact assessment" in the IP4MaaS project

<p>All the materials, inputs, models, and scripts that are used in the performance assessment toolbox (IP4MaaS project, Deliverable D6.3 Performance&nbsp;and Impact Assessment) are available in the attached folder.&nbsp;</p> <p>The attached folder contains the following:</p> <p>Module 3_ BN analysis_Graphs and weights (the inputs, weights, graphs, and scripts of Bayesian Network analysis per each IP4MaaS demo site).</p> <p>The scripts have been designed for easy adoption in other projects with similar end goals. While the scripts operate on the codified representation of the traveller profiles, functionalities, and service providers, there is no restriction on the type of codification used. The only factor that the scripts assume is the order of the variables introduced for codification. That is the traveller profile variable (wherever applicable), followed by the Functionality variable, followed by the Service Provider variable. As long as the order is maintained, the scripts self-analyze the number of variables representing the traveller profiles, functionalities, and service providers, and perform calculations (USI, Effectiveness) and analysis (Regression and BN), Hence, in a similar framework, the scripts may be used for performing data analysis on a large data set with no restriction on the number of functionalities, service providers or subsets of traveller profiles. Ontogeny of risk assessment and escape-hatching performance by red-eyed treefrog embryos in two threat contexts

<p><span>Arboreal embryos of red-eyed treefrogs,<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><em>Agalychnis callidryas</em><span>, hatch prematurely in response to hypoxia when flooded and mechanosensory cues (MC) in snake attacks, but hatching later improves tadpole survival. We studied ontogenetic changes in risk assessment and hatching performance of embryos in response to flooding and physical disturbance. We hypothesized that risk assessment decreases as hatchling survival improves and hatching performance increases as embryos develop. Because snakes eat faster than embryos asphyxiate, we hypothesized that embryos decide to hatch sooner and hatch faster in response to MC. We video-recorded individual embryos hatching in response to each cue type, then compared the incidence and timing of a series of events and behaviors from cue onset to complete hatching across ages and stimuli. Latency from cue to hatching decreased developmentally in both contexts and was shorter with MC, but the elements contributing to those changes differed.</span><em> </em><span>Hypoxia-assessment involved position changes, which decreased developmentally along with assessment time. MC-assessment<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span>occurred more rapidly, without movement, and decreased</span><span><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>with age. The first stages of hatching, membrane rupture and head emergence, were surprisingly age-independent but faster with MC, congruent with greater effort under more immediate risk. In contrast, body emergence and compression showed ontogenetic improvement consistent with morphological constraints but no cue effect. Both appropriate timing and effective performance of hatching are necessary for continued development. Different stages of the process vary with development and environmental context, suggesting combinations of adaptive context- and stage-dependent behavior, cue-related constraints on information acquisition, and ontogenetic constraints on elements of performance. </span></p>

Assessing the prevalence of Female Genital Schistosomiasis and comparing the acceptability and performance of health worker-collected and self-collected cervical-vaginal swabs using PCR testing among women in North-Western Tanzania: the ShWAB study

<p>Female genital schistosomiasis (FGS) is a severe neglected disease, caused by infection with <em>Schistosoma haematobium</em>. The WHO has prioritized the improvement of diagnostics for FGS and previous studies have explored the PCR-based detection of <em>Schistosoma</em> DNA on genital specimens, with encouraging results. We aimed to determine the prevalence of FGS among women living in an endemic district in North-western Tanzania, applying and preliminary comparing self-collected and operator-collected cervical-vaginal swabs followed by PCR, and to assess the acceptability of these sampling procedures.</p>
