Patient reported outcome measures, load-induced blood marker kinetics, and ambulatory knee load in patients with medial compartment knee osteoarthritis
<p>The goal of this study was (i) to quantify the mechanoresponse of this array of potential blood markers for joint pathology (COMP, MMP-1, MMP-3, MMP-9, CPII, C2C, C2C/CPII, ADAMTS-4, PRG-4, IL-6 and resistin) to a walking stress test in patients with knee OA and to determine the correlation (ii) among the kinetics of these blood markers, (iii) with accumulated knee load during the walking stress, and (iv) with patient reported osteoarthritis outcome and QoL.</p> <p>The dataset includes 24 patients with knee osteoarthritis scheduled to receive high tibial osteotomy. All participants completed questionnaires, and a walking stress test with six blood samples analyzed using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays for cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP), matrix metalloproteinases (MMP)-1, -3, and -9, epitope resulting from cleavage of type II collagen by collagenases (C2C), type II procollagen (CPII), interleukin (IL)-6, proteoglycan (PRG)-4, A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs (ADAMTS)-4, and resistin, and gait analysis. Joint load was computed from gait analysis data and musculoskeletal modelling in AnyBody Modeling System (AnyBody Technology A/S). Discrete loading parameters were extracted for each step using an inhouse algorithm written in Matlab.</p> <p>The detailed experimental protocol of the umbrella study has been described in Mündermann A, Vach W, Pagenstert G, Egloff C, Nüesch C. Assessing in vivo articular cartilage mechanosensitivity as outcome of high tibial osteotomy in patients with medial compartment osteoarthritis: Experimental protocol. Osteoarthr Cartil Open. 2020 Feb 24;2(2):100043. doi: 10.1016/j.ocarto.2020.100043. PMID: 36474590; PMCID: PMC9718245. The study is registered on clinicaltrials.gov (identifier NCT02622204). The method for computing joint loading has been described in detail in De Pieri E, Nüesch C, Pagenstert G, Viehweger E, Egloff C, Mündermann A. High tibial osteotomy effectively redistributes compressive knee loads during walking. J Orthop Res. 2022 Jun 22. doi: 10.1002/jor.25403. Epub ahead of print. PMID: 35730475.</p>

Dataset of reported synthetic conditions for ZIF-8 since 2006 and final characteristics and properties of the particles obtained
<p>This is a dataset generated by mining available literature between 2006 and August 2021. Initial literature search was done using Scopus database, employing a combination of keywords such: "ZIF-8", "Zeolitic+ZIF-8", "Framework+ZIF-8", "Zeolitic+MOF".</p> <p>First, removal of duplicates and review articles was done and the remaining documents were chosen by title+abstract analysis. The dataset contains a total of 254 entries, i.e., 254 individual reported synthesis.</p> <p>Throughout this dataset, the following parameters can be found:</p> <p>-About synthesis conditions: Zinc source and the amount employed for the synthesis in mmol (milli-moles); 2-methylimidazole in mmol (HmIm); solvent and quantity employed (in mmol). Modulator and quantity employed (in mmol). Please note that quantities in milli-moles were calculated by hand in most of the cases, since reported data was expressed in different units. Reaction temperature (in °C), reaction time (min) and stirring condition (YES-NO-Initial-time). Finally, reports were classified as "systematic" (or not) based on wether the scope of the work was to explore different synthetic conditions.</p> <p>-About ZIF-8 characteristics: information is mainly focusing on structure-related characteristic, namely the particle morphology (classified as Faceted, poor-faceted, quasispherical, aggregated) and the particle´s size. Reported sizes where classified by the different techniques employed. Finally, Surface area determined by BET formalism was also included.</p>
Plot-level field data and model simulation results, archived to accompany Turner et al. manuscript; reports data from summer 2017 sampling of short-interval fires that burned during summer 2016 in Greater Yellowstone.
Subalpine forests in the northern Rocky Mountains have been resilient to stand-replacing fires that historically burned at 100–300-yr intervals. Fire intervals are projected to decline drastically as climate warms, and forests that reburn before recovering from previous fire may lose their ability to rebound. We studied recent fires in Greater Yellowstone (Wyoming, USA) and asked whether short-interval (less than 30 yrs) stand-replacing fires can erode lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta var. latifolia) forest resilience via increased burn severity, reduced early postfire tree regeneration, reduced carbon stocks, and slower carbon recovery. During 2016, fires reburned young lodgepole pine forests that regenerated after wildfires in 1988 and 2000. During 2017, we sampled 0.25-ha plots in stand-replacing reburns (n=18) and nearby young forests that did not reburn (n=9). We also simulated stand development with and without reburns to assess carbon recovery trajectories. Nearly all prefire biomass was combusted ("crown fire plus") in some reburns in which prefire trees were dense and small (≤ 4 cm basal diameter). Postfire tree seedling density was reduced six-fold relative to the previous (long-interval) fire, and high-density stands (greater than 40,000 stems ha-1) were converted to sparse stands (less than 1,000 stems ha-1). In reburns, coarse wood biomass and aboveground carbon stocks were reduced by 65% and 62%, respectively, relative to areas that did not reburn. Increased carbon loss plus sparse tree regeneration delayed simulated carbon recovery by greater than 150 yrs. Forests did not transition to nonforest, but extreme burn severity and reduced tree recovery foreshadow an erosion of forest resilience.

C. elegans HSP-17 translational reporter LSM z-stacks
<p>A translational reporter (transgene: <em>phsp-17::hsp-17::wrmScarlet</em>) of the small heat shock protein HSP-17 from C. elegans was generated. This construct expresses a C-terminal fusion of wrmScarlet to HSP-17 in a wild type background, controlled by the native promoter of <em>hsp-17</em>. A publication, for which this worm strain was generated, titled "The non-canonical small heat shock protein HSP-17 from <em>C. elegans</em> is a selective protein aggregase" to JBC is pending (manuscript number: JBC/2019/011185). The dataset contains the raw LSM-data, a version modified for easier viewing as well as a short movie of a 3d-projection. Data for the worms head, body and tail are given.</p> <p>For wrmScarlet, refer Bindels <em>et al.</em>, 2016 & El Mouridi <em>et al.</em>, 2017. Data was evaluated and modified with Fiji (Rueden <em>et al.</em>, 2017 & Schindelin <em>et al.</em>, 2012).</p>

IODP Expedition 391 Carbonates composite report
This composite report includes data from two analyses (total carbon from Elemental analysis [CHNS], and inorganic carbon from [Coulometer]). Each row combines the CHNS and Coulometer data from measurements made on the same sample at the same time for a particular section and section offset (depth). If data do not exist for a particular expedition, the column does not appear. To identify individual samples and tests, see each separate data type (Elemental analysis and Coulometer). If the same sample was measured multiple times by any of the methods, results in the report will be combined on one line where possible. Each additional replicate result will be shown in subsequent rows and will be combined where possible. Report includes results for carbon forms: total, inorganic, calcium carbonate, and organic by difference, along with total hydrogen, nitrogen, and sulfur.
IODP Expedition 391 Gas safety report
This composite report returns data from two different gas chromatograph configurations (GC3 and NGA). Each row combines data from several measurements made on the same sample at the same time for a particular headspace or vacutainer sample. If data do not exist for a particular expedition, the column does not appear. Gas samples were measured by gas chromatography and either flame ionization detection (GC-FID) or thermal conductivity detection (GC-TCD). Reported analytes may include methane, ethane, ethene, propane, propene, n-butane, i-butane, n-pentane, i-pentane, n-hexane, i-hexane, n-heptane, i-heptane, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide. When data are available, methane to (ethane + ethene) ratio (C1/C2ratio) is reported. To identify individual samples and tests, see each separate analysis (GC3, NGAFID, and/or NGATCD).
IODP Expedition 391 Interstitial water composite report
This composite report includes data from numerous interstitial water (IW) analyses (e.g., ICP-LIQUIDS and IONCHROM) in a variable set of columns. Each row combines the data from several tests (groups of measurements made on the same sample at the same time) for a particular IW sample. If data do not exist for a particular expedition, the column does not appear. To identify individual samples and tests, see each separate analysis (ALKALINITY, ICP-LIQUIDS, IONCHROM, SALINITY, SPEC, TITRATOR, and potentially others). Major and minor elements were determined by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrocsopy (ICP-LIQUIDS). Cations and anions were measured by ion chromatography (IONCHROM). Complex ions were measured by colorimetric measurements using a UV-VIS spectrometer (SPEC). Alkalinity and chloride was measured by titration (ALKALINITY and TITRATOR). Dissolved carbon (DC), dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) were measured by combustion in a total organic carbon (TOC) analyzer. Salinity was measured by refractometer (SALINITY). pH was measured by ion-selective electrode as part of the alkalinity procedure and is reported in the ALKALINITY analysis.
IODP Expedition 391 Sample report
Report includes detailed information about samples taken for testing: location/depth, type/form factor, test, request number, and database identifier.
