The 10 ecoregions with the highest number of events were: Great Basin shrub steppe, 1199; California coastal sage and chaparral, 930; Colorado Plateau shrublands, 782; California interior chaparral and woodlands, 768; Chihuahuan desert, 648; Mojave desert, 348; Sierra Nevada forests, 317; Chilean matorral, 314; Colorado Rockies forests, 303; and California Central Valley grasslands, 296.
