Sustainable Mobility Plan at Area Science Park
<p>This dataset contains data related to the Sustainable Mobility Plan (in Italian: PSCL, Piano Spostamenti Casa Lavoro) of Area Science Park (<a href="http://www.areasciencepark.it">www.areasciencepark.it</a>). It includes information on the number of public transport users, the number of trips made, the percentage of trips made by public transport, the average distance travelled, the number of parking spaces available and the occupancy rate of parking spaces. The purpose of the dataset is to provide open access to the information on which planning is based, and to enable the assessment of the implementation of the plan and its impact on mobility.</p> <p>The main objective of the Sustainable Mobility Plan is to describe the current situation and the initiatives launched and planned for the structural and permanent reduction of the environmental impact resulting from systematic home-work mobility. <p>The dataset contains the publications' ID and DOI numbers used in the bibliometric analysis for the paper "Exploring adult age-at-death research in anthropology: Bibliometric mapping and content analysis," which was published in Forensic Sciences. Dimensions only granted the authors permission to disclose the publication IDs and DOIs for this study. However, using the identification codes, it is possible to extract titles' full metadata through Dimensions (<a href="https://www.dimensions.ai/">https://www.dimensions.ai/</a>).</p>
Materials Science Optimization Benchmark Dataset for High-dimensional, Multi-objective, Multi-fidelity Optimization of CrabNet Hyperparameters
Benchmarks are an essential driver of progress in scientific disciplines. Ideal benchmarks mimic real-world tasks as closely as possible, where insufficient difficulty or applicability can stunt growth in the field. Benchmarks should also have sufficiently low computational overhead to promote accessibility and repeatability. The goal is then to win a "Turing test" of sorts by creating a surrogate model that is indistinguishable from the ground truth observation (at least within the dataset bounds that were explored), necessitating a large amount of data. In materials science and chemistry, industry-relevant optimization tasks are often hierarchical, noisy, multi-fidelity, multi-objective, high-dimensional, and non-linearly correlated while exhibiting mixed numerical and categorical variables subject to linear and non-linear constraints. To complicate matters, unexpected, failed simulation or experimental regions may be present in the search space. In this study, 173219 quasi-random hyperparameter combinations were generated across 23 hyperparameters and used to train CrabNet on the Matbench experimental band gap dataset. The results were logged to a free-tier shared MongoDB Atlas dataset. This study resulted in a regression dataset mapping hyperparameter combinations (including repeats) to MAE, RMSE, computational runtime, and model size for CrabNet model trained on the Matbench experimental band gap benchmark task1. This dataset is used to create a surrogate model as close as possible to running the actual simulations by incorporating heteroskedastic noise. Failure cases for bad hyperparameter combinations were excluded via careful construction of the hyperparameter search space, and so were not considered as was done in prior work. For the regression dataset, percentile ranks were computed within each of the groups of identical parameter sets to enable capturing heteroskedastic noise. This contrasts with a more traditional approach that imposes a-priori assumptions such as Gaussian noise, e.g., by providing a mean and standard deviation. A similar approach can be applied to other benchmark datasets to bridge the gap between optimization benchmarks with low computational overhead and realistically complex, real-world optimization scenarios.
Soft governance and soft law literature, gathered from Scopus and Web of Science
<p>This is a list of literature related to soft governance and soft law.</p> <p>The soft governance literature was collected on the 12th of July, 2022. 110 articles from Web of Science and 169 articles from Scopus that had any variance of “soft govern*” in either their title, abstract or keywords were consolidated into one collection of 179 articles. These were randomly labelled with a SoftGov_000 identifier.</p> <p>The soft law literature was collected on the 12th of December, 2022. 1026 articles from Web of Science and 1803 articles from Scopus that had any variance of “soft law” in either their title, abstract or keywords were consolidated into one collection of 1960 articles. The State of Open Science in Indonesia: a preliminary analysis of digitalisation's impact on science regimes
<p>This presentation is a discussion on Open Science in Indonesia from the field of the Sociology of Knowledge Approach to Discourse. Boasting the largest number of Open Access Journals in the world, and steadily capitalising on a burgeoning technological economy, Indonesia would seem ripe for a science and knowledge-sharing renaissance. In the past five years, science and education institutions have been consolidated into one “super entity”, the Indonesian National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), stirring the imagination for a publicly funded and centralised open access system for indexing, storing and sharing scientific research, data and results. Further, on the back of the 2022 G20 Presidency, Indonesia holds the 2023 ASEAN Presidency, which provides it with agenda setting powers towards regional science and technology cooperation. The potential is high for Open Science, and thus the global sustainable development agenda, to find precedence in Indonesia’s policymaking discourse. Interviews conducted with BRIN staff, professors and PhD Candidates of leading Indonesian universities, think-tank policy advisers, and grass roots organisers illuminate common challenges to implementation of Open Science policies and the Open Science mindset. This discussion addresses where Open Science sits in Indonesia’s development agenda, where there are promises, where there are challenges and what the role of CSIS is in facilitating the transition to Open Science.</p>
TRANSFORM video - Waste pilot using citizen science in Catalonia
<p>A citizen science project to improve the selective waste collection system in Mollet del Vallès Citizens have a key role in political decision-making and the TRANSFORM pilot project is a clear example of this. TRANSFORM Catalan cluster carried out a citizen science pilot in the city of Mollet del Vallès to contribute to improving the selective collection of municipal waste. Health-related quality of life and musculoskeletal pain in health sciences university students
<p><strong>Purpose: </strong>To analyse the health-related quality of life and associated variables in health science university students. Secondly, to determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain and central sensitisation, and the differences by gender.</p> <p><strong>Methods: </strong>Cross-sectional study among health sciences university students, using anonymous, self-administered questionnaires (SF-12, Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ), Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NRS), Central Sensitisation Inventory (SCI)).</p> <p><strong>Results: </strong>Three hundred and thirty eight students were included (76.3% female; age 22.5±4.9 years). The mean SF-12 Physical Component Summary was higher than the mean of 50 in the Spanish adult population as a whole for both female and male students (54.6 vs. 55.9; p=0.02), whereas the mean SF-12 Mental Component Summary was lower than the population mean (36.7 vs. 42.8; p<0.001). These differences persisted when compared with age- and sex-matched population standardized scores.</p> <p>A high prevalence of musculoskeletal pain was observed, particularly in the back area. Pain was generalised, chronic, of moderate intensity, and more frequent in women.</p> <p>Variables associated with worse physical health were being female (B=-1.5; p=0.035), having a disability (B=-4.6; p<0.001), chronic musculoskeletal pain at any site (B=-2.1; p=0.001), and a score ≥40 on the SCI (B=-3.2: p<0.001). The only variable associated with poorer mental health was the SCI score.</p> <p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>Health sciences university students report a significant deterioration in mental health and a high prevalence of musculoskeletal pain, with symptoms of central sensitisation associated with poorer physical and mental health. Women have worse mental health and a higher prevalence, intensity and chronification of musculoskeletal pain.</p>

Open Science taxonomy: revised and expanded
<p>The figure presents a new version of the "Open Science Taxonomy", with 10 first-level facets, subdivided into 96 labels in all, 14 more than the version proposed by the Brazilians, Silveira et al. (2021), and 51 more than the initial version by Pontika et al. (2015). This study was developed through an exploratory research with a deductive approach. The first stage was composed of a review of the taxonomies, with 13 researchers who met weekly for conceptual and epistemological discussions related to Open Science, and methodological and procedural definitions for the study. As a result of the analyses, a taxonomy was developed to be evaluated by more specialists. For this, a questionnaire with open questions about each main axis of the taxonomy was sent to 68 experts. Twenty-one responses were obtained, which cooperated with the modeling and exposure of the terms for the new taxonomy.</p>

<p>This zipped folders contain all the data produced for the research "Uncovering the Citation Landscape: Exploring OpenCitations COCI, OpenCitations Meta, and ERIH-PLUS in Social Sciences and Humanities Journals": the results datasets (dataset_map_disciplines, dataset_no_SSH, dataset_SSH, erih_meta_with_disciplines and erih_meta_without_disciplines).</p> <ul> <li> <p><strong>dataset_map_disciplines.zip </strong>contains CSV files with four columns ("id", "citing", "cited", "disciplines") giving information about publications stored in OpenCitations META (version 3 released on February 2023) and part of SSH journals, according to ERIH PLUS (version downloaded on 2023-04-27), specifying the disciplines associated to them and a boolean value stating if they cite or are cited, according to the OpenCitations COCI dataset (version 19 released on January 2023).</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>dataset_no_SSH.zip </strong>and <strong>dataset_SSH.zip</strong> contain CSV files with the same structure. <p>This zipped folders contain all the data preprocessed for the research "Uncovering the Citation Landscape: Exploring OpenCitations COCI, OpenCitations Meta, and ERIH-PLUS in Social Sciences and Humanities Journals": the cleaned datasets (coci_preprocessed, meta_preprocessed, erih_preprocessed and erih_meta).</p> <ul> <li> <p><strong>coci_preprocessed.zip</strong>: this archive contains CSVs with two columns “citing” and “cited”, giving information about publications involved in citations according to the OpenCitations COCI dataset (version 19 released on January 2023), and that are entirely contained in OpenCitations META (version 3 released on February 2023). Austrian Science Fund (FWF) Open Access Compliance Monitoring 2022
<p>I. Executive summary</p> <p>The Austrian Science Fund (FWF), which is Austria's main funding organisation for basic research, encourages and helps all project leaders and project staff members to make their peer-reviewed research results freely available on the Internet. Any exceptions must be clearly indicated and justified. For projects that started after 1 January 2015, open access has been compulsory for all peer-reviewed publications. All principal investigators in FWF-funded projects are obliged to submit a final report within four months of completing their projects.</p> <p>In 2022, a total of 575 final reports were submitted to the FWF, 38 of which could not report any publications so far. The publications and other data mentioned in those reports are archived and analysed by the FWF. This report examines the state of compliance with open access requirements for peer-reviewed publications on the basis of final project reports submitted in the year 2022.</p> <p>Main findings:</p> <p>-A total of 8,312 publications were listed in the final project reports submitted in 2022.</p> <p>-Of those publications, 6,631 were conclusively identified as peer-reviewed.</p> <p>-Regarding compliance with the FWF's Open Access Policy, the analysis shows that 85% of the peer-reviewed publications listed in the final project reports submitted in 2022 were openly accessible (2015: 83%, 2016: 92%, 2017: 90%, 2018: 92%, 2019: 89%, 2020: 84%, 2021 82%).</p> <p>-The most frequently chosen option was hybrid open access (36%). The share of gold open access was 29%, the share of green open access 20%, and no open access 15%.</p> <p>-The majority of peer-reviewed publications submitted were journal articles (85%), 86% of which were openly accessible.</p> <p>-The lowest rate of compliance with the FWF's Open Access Policy could be found in editions, contributions to edited volumes, and monographs 41%).</p> <p>-The absolute number of publications listed in final reports in 2022 included 354 publications that were mentioned several times in different projects; however, those repetitions did not affect the relative share of open access publications (85%).</p> <p>II. Bias</p> <p>All publications were submitted to the FWF via a research documentation system (provided by ©Researchfish), in which FWF-funded researchers are able to enter and update their research data on an ongoing basis. The last check of the open access status was performed in March 2023. In some cases, the embargo period may have already expired, and publications labelled ‘closed’ in the FWF’s database may now be accessible through green open access.</p> <p>Whenever the status ‘peer-reviewed’ could not be clearly identified according to the FWF’s guidelines, the publications were classified as non-peer reviewed.</p> <p>Openly available non-peer reviewed publications were entered as 'openly available’.</p>

Drawing the Boundaries Around Borderline Personality Disorder: A Science Mapping Study
<p><strong>Objective: </strong>The objective of this study was to conduct a bibliometric investigation of borderline personality disorder (BPD) including performance analysis, science mapping, and network visualization. <strong>Methods: </strong>Publications relating to BPD were retrieved from the Web of Science™ by entering the term “borderline personality disorder(all-fields)” and analyzed with the Bibliometrix.. R<strong>esults: </strong>A total of 10,368 documents on BPD were published from 1980 to 2022. Publication volume increased by an average annual rate of 13.7%. The total number of citations of the period was 361,184, with an average citation per document of 34.8. Articles in “medical” journals tended to cite articles in the “medical” ones, while those in “psychological” journals did the same with their “psychological” counterparts. The list of the most cited articles includes predominantly studies on several modalities of psychotherapy for BPD. Articles about psychotherapy formed a separate co-citation cluster from the main body of publications and authors with stronger research imprinting on cognitive, dialectical, and mentalization- and schema-based psychotherapies formed a separate cluster from other authors, possibly reflecting the pivotal role played by psychotherapies in the treatment of BPD. European countries collaborated among themselves, while the USA stood relatively apart. German, Dutch, and Swiss institutions, headed by the Heidelberg University, cooperated mainly among themselves while the USA ones formed separated networks around Harvard University. <strong>Conclusions: </strong>Our results indicate that research on BPD is a conceptually and thematically heterogeneous, geographically and institutionally diversified, integrated collaborative enterprise.</p> <p> </p>
Dataset for "Exposure and environmental engagement: A pilot integrating wearable sensors, air quality and citizen science"
<p>The dataset contains anonymised readings of 7 citizens taking air quality measurements using PlumeLabs Flow 2 monitor. Data for: Home security cameras as a tool for behavior observations and science equity
<p class="MsoNormal">Reliably capturing transient animal behavior in the field and laboratory remains a logistical and financial challenge, especially for small ectotherms. Here, we present a camera system that is affordable, accessible, and suitable to monitor small, cold-blooded animals historically overlooked by commercial camera traps, such as small amphibians. The system is weather-resistant, can operate offline or online, and allows collection of time-sensitive behavioral data in laboratory and field conditions with continuous data storage for up to four weeks. The lightweight camera can also utilize phone notifications over Wi-Fi so that observers can be alerted when animals enter a space of interest, enabling sample collection at proper time periods. We present our findings, both technological and scientific, in an effort to elevate tools that enable researchers to maximize use of their research budgets. We discuss the relative affordability of our system for researchers in South America, which is home to the largest population of ectotherm diversity.</p>
