Sprint for your eLife! How the eLife Innovation Sprint Helps Drive Forward Open Science Projects
<p><strong>Episode Summary</strong></p> <p>In this episode we cover the eLife Innovation Sprint 2020, that was held online on September 2nd and 3rd, 2020. The sprint facilitates collaboration between people who are working on tools, services, and other projects that enhance open science and research.</p> <p>We talk to the organiser Dr Emmy Tsang, who at the time was the Innovation Community Manager for eLife but is now the Community Engagement Manager for TU Delft. As well as participants from two of the projects that took part: Dr Cássio Amorim, creator of SciGen.Report, 'a platform to easily share and view any information that researchers may have on the reproducibility of papers'. Project GeRDI collection in RDF
<p>This collection contains the metadata harvested in the context of Project GeRDI (https://www.gerdi-project.eu/). The dataset records are organized based on the institutions that provide them. This allows to download and use any provider of interest. In addition to the 11 dataset providers, the dataset also contains provenance information (neatly stored in the "provenance" named graph) for the conversion process, which is not part of the original dataset collectoin and was generated at the end of the conversion process.</p>

Ethical Perspectives in AI: A Two-folded Exploratory Study From Literature and Active Development Projects - Supplementary Material
<p>This is the Supplementary Material provided for the work accepted on HICSS 2021.</p> <p>Title of work: Ethical Perspectives in AI: A Two-folded Exploratory Study From Literature and Active Development Projects.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>This dataset depicts 589 GitHub README files explored in our article. We devised each repository into 4 categories. AI Applications (78), reference lists (486), Explainable AI tool (6), Ethical AI tool (15). Moreoveer, 4 repositories could not be found, and 181 of them had a Programming Language. In addition, we classified them according to our judgement of Interesting (82) or Great (33), regarding the objectives of our work. 75 repositories were not related to AI Ethics, and 7 of them mentioned COVID-19 in their repositories in some manner. Highlighted repositories in red pertain to categories 3 and 4, that is, tools for implementing AI Ethics, while those in yellow are marked as “Great”.</p> <p>Explainable AI tool and Ethical AI tool were added to 21 occurrences of tools for implementing AI ethics publicly available in repositories. Furthermore, it is seen that many papers open-sourced their codes on GitHub (as in https://github.com/lopusz/awesome-interpretable-machine-learning), meaning that the academic field has also made good progress in implementing ethics in AI, hence, the combined energy of both sources fosters an enhanced debate and stimulates progress towards AI ethics in practice.</p>

It derives from the Danish-German Jerash Northwest Quarter Project led by. European Study on Risk Factors for Violence in Mental Disorder and Forensic Care: a multicentre project. The EU-Viormed Dataset
<p>The aims of this project, through a series of interlinked work packages, designed by researchers and practicing clinicians, and lead by an experienced management team, is to explore and map these differences, test new risk assessment tools and identify and share best practice where it exists. It aims are fourfold. Firstly to describe forensic psychiatry services as they exist today in 2017 across the European Union. Secondly to identify risk factors for violence in a unique international forensic sample and thirdly to test for the very first time in a related EU sample two contrasting methods of violence risk assessment. Finally it explored what works for these often marginalised patients, their families and their carers, at an operational, clinical and ethical level.<br> These aims were achieved through two studies designs:<br> Study 1: case-control retrospective design in which forensic patients with Schizophrenia<br> Spectrum Disorders (SSDs) who have a history of interpersonal violence and live in forensic<br> units will be compared to non-violent patients with SSDs living in the community.<br> Study 2: prospective cohort study, with 6 and 12 month follow-up, to test the predictive validity<br> of the leading structured professional clinical judgement guide for violence prediction, the<br> HCR-20v3, the Forensic Psychiatry and Violence Tool (FoVOx) and the Mental Illness and<br> Suicide Tool (OXMIS, https://oxrisk.com/)</p>
