Storyline Simulations Data for the paper Athanase et al.: Projected amplification of summer marine heatwaves in a warming Northeast Pacific Ocean

<p>Data used for producing the Figures in the paper entitled "Projected amplification of summer marine heatwaves in a warming Northeast Pacific Ocean", Athanase et al. (Communications Earth &amp; Environment).</p> <p>The AWI-CM-1-1-MR free runs are available in the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) data nodes (https://esgf-data.dkrz.de/search/cmip6-dkrz/).&nbsp;The ERA5 reanalysis data used in the paper can be accessed from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF; https://www.ecmwf.int/en/forecasts/datasets/reanalysis-datasets/era5). Here, we provide data from the nudged storyline simulations carried out with the AWI-CM-1-1-MR coupled climate model.</p> <p>Parameters naming convention:</p> <p>- Sea Surface Temperature ("tos").</p> <p>- Radiative Fluxes ("radiations"), including net surface heat flux ("qnet"), net surface thermal radiation ("trads"), net surface solar radiation ("srads"), latent heat flux ("ahfl"), sensible heat flux ("ahfs").</p> <p>- Low Clouds Cover ("lcc").</p> <p>- Mixed Layer Depth ("mlotst").</p> <p>- Surface Air Temperature ("tas").</p> <p>- 10 m winds ("u10","v10").</p> <p>All data is provided as the 5-member ensemble mean from the nudged storyline simulations. The Helicobacter pylori Genome Project (HpGP) Phase1 dataset and 255 H. pylori population reference dataset

<p>This repository holds the HpGP Phase 1 genomic dataset for Hp26695 and 1011 study samples. All 1012 genomic sequences were annotated using the NCBI Prokaryotic Genome Annotation Pipeline(PGAP). Also, it has 255 curated public available H. pylori genomic sequences used for population structure analysis in Thorell et al. CONUS-wide HUC4 Watershed Scale Hydropower Projections derived from 9505 Third Assessment

<p>This dataset provides historical and climate projection monthly hydropower generation timeseries for HUC4 watersheds within the contiguous U.S. (CONUS). These data were developed as an extension to the Department of Energy Water Power Technologies Office's SECURE Water Act Section 9505 Third Assessment (9505) and include both federal and non-federal hydropower facilities. Additional modeling detail can be found in <a href="https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/ad6ceb">Broman et al., 2024</a> and in the article's&nbsp;<a href="https://github.com/9505-PNNL/broman-etal_2024_erl">metarepository</a>. Note that in some instances multiple HUC4 watersheds have been merged together into a HUC4 group, and that HUC4 watersheds without hydropower facilities are excluded. Projected trophic changes in species-carrying capacities under climate change scenarios

<p>Climate controls the amount of energy available for plants, which in turn determines the quantity of resources available for animals. It follows that when climate changes, so should trophic communities. Using a novel modeling approach, we investigate how bird and mammal trophic communities might disassemble and reassemble under 21<sup>st</sup> century climate changes. We show that trophic structures are expected to undergo profound changes globally, chiefly in the tropics and across high latitudes in the northern hemisphere. This trophic reorganization of communities is characterized by shifts in species richness within trophic guilds. While some guilds might face population collapses, others are projected to find new opportunities to maintain stable populations in previously inhospitable areas. The proposed models offer a tool for projecting and understanding the trophic ramifications of climate change, highlighting their potential in guiding future research and conservation efforts.</p>

Open dataset of 20 interviews with senior service designers and managers for the Empathy Business research project

<p>The aim of the Empathy Business research project (2023-2024) led by the University of Lapland focused on how to digitalize services and business prototyping through creativity. The research named challenges as well as design methods for developing digital tools for meeting the future needs of service design and business development.<br><br>In total, 20 interviews among senior service designers and managers located in Europe, Latin America and Asia were conducted during spring 2023. The interviews provide perspectives related to the future of service design as a practise, the skills required and further issues of relevance for professionals in the field. Based on affinity diagramming eight main clusters were named: Sustainability, Business compatibility, New tools, Designer&rsquo;s skills, Art-based methods, People in the centre, Online workshops, and Physical workshops.<br><br>This data set includes an anonymized list of the interviewees, affinity diagram post-it notes of the interviews, short descriptions of the main clusters and an internet link to the online affinity diagram on Miro board.<br><br>The materials provided initial insights for developing Proof-of-Concepts for digitized interfaces, such as suitable plugins, 3D-based photorealistic solutions, or an application with the potential to be used in service design and service prototyping contexts as well as in other development processes within and across organizations.</p>

THE NATURE OF X-RAYS FROM YOUNG STELLAR OBJECTS IN THE ORION NEBULA CLUSTER - A Chandra HETGS Legacy Project

<p><span>This first release provides the community with a first cut of confusion cleaned X-ray spectra of the Orion Nebula Cluster observed with the HETG onboard the Chandra X-ray Observatory. The data were taken starting in 1999 until 2021. <br><br>The confusion cleaning is based on several aspects of sources for confusion, which includes cluster point sources intersecting with grating dispersions, grating arms intersecting each other in CCD space, as well as grating dispersion overlaps prohibiting proper order sorting. The latter is a major effect and resulted in sometimes severe data losses. In the first release, our automated procedure took care of the vast majority of point sources and grating arm intersections. With respect to the dispersion arm overlaps, in this release we took a statistical approach optimizing the agreement of all four grating dispersion arms in the merged data to agree within a 1 sigma statistical uncertainty over 90% of the bandpass between 2 and 15 Angstrom. For that we used the zero order flux fractions of the interfering sources as the driving parameter. <br><br>There are still many caveats and rooms for improvement, which we will address in upcoming releases, which include the treatment of the increasing background at high dispersion, improve extraction efficiency, exclude observations with non-detections before confusion cleaning, include possible new detections, investigate the 5 A excess we observe in the HEG, though at low statistics, spotcheck individual observations for any residual issues. <br><br>Release 1 provides the community with an excellent starting point for addressing our identified science projects. Out of the 46 sources that were extracted, 37 resulted in valid spectral data. 7 sources have less than 1000 counts in 1st order, some of those may not yet be very useful. <br></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Each directory contains the merged cleaned spectrum and responses for<br>one source. &nbsp;The file "pha2" is a Type II PHA file (multiple spectra)<br>containing the four first order spectra, HEG -1, HEG +1, MEG -1, and<br>MEG +1. &nbsp;Headers have been edited indicate the object (OBJECT), and<br>start and stop times for the set of observations. &nbsp;Since the exposure<br>depends on order, due to the cleaning process, EXPOSURE is a column in<br>the data table. &nbsp;Some other keywords now say "MERGED" since they can<br>vary with observation.</p> <p>There is one effective area file per order (".arf" files). &nbsp;These have<br>also been merged by zeroing out the same regions as excluded in the<br>count spectra, and summed weighting by exposure. &nbsp;They also have<br>similar header edits as for the spectra.</p> <p>While the exposures in headers may say 2 Ms, the actual exposure at<br>any wavelength may be much less. &nbsp;This is not explicitly known, but is<br>implicit in the ignored wavelength regions in the merged counts and<br>responses.</p> <p>There is one grating response matrix (".rmf" files) per order. &nbsp;Since<br>all spectral extractions of all sources used the same cross-dispersion<br>region, there is no change in these files between sources. &nbsp;One set<br>suffices for all extractions. &nbsp;These are in the directory "RMFs", and<br>also for convenience have symbolic links in each source directory.</p> <p>HETG background files have also been provided, one PHA file per first<br>order, in directory HETG_Background. &nbsp; These have been derived from<br>long observations of blank fields. &nbsp;Details are provided in the<br>accompanying memo, hetg_background.pdf.</p> <p>Headers have not been designed for auto-loading of responses (that is<br>CORRFILE, RESPFILE, and BACKFILE are set to 'none').</p>
