<p>After image matching, we got a positive result at 93% times, for 1000 random sample images tested on the nine criteria of orientation.&nbsp;</p> <p>Face orientation recognition is an important topic in computer vision and pattern recognition. Due to the non-rigid properties of faces, it is computationally expensive and difficult to achieve good recognition accuracy and robustness in face orientation recognition. In this paper, we propose an image mapping technique for face analysis in smart camera networks with a feature extraction and data from the facial feature. We estimate the face orientation angles in all camera views, based on the matched imaged data. Our objective is to obtain a set of facial structures which can work as landmarks for tracking and recognition of facial expressions.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After matching the images with the reference image, it gets the nearest orientation matches and they could be Font left, Font right, Down-left, Down Right, Up left, Upright, Font Straight, Up Straight, Down Straight. Initially, some constraints must be satisfied to realize a successful correct matching. The facial regions, concerned on eyes and nose points, have the following characteristic: if there is almost one missing point for the region of the same type then the comparison will be performed. There must be the same number of feature points for both eyes and nose separately. If this condition is satisfied then a new comparison will be performed.&nbsp;</p> <p>After image matching, we got a positive result at 93% times, for 1000 random sample images tested on the nine criteria of orientation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The first step in facial feature detection is detecting the face. This requires analyzing the entire image. The second step is using the isolated face(s) to detect each feature. The result is shown in Figure 1. Since each portion of the image used to detect a feature is much smaller than that of the whole image, detection of all three facial features takes less time on average than detecting the face itself. Using a 1.2GHz AMD processor to analyze a 320 by 240 image, a frame rate of 3 frames per second was achieved. Since a frame rate of 5 frames per second was achieved in facial detection only by using a much faster processor, regionalization provides a tremendous increase in efficiency in facial feature detection.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This repository contains the data used in the blog &quot;Citations to Astronomy Journals 1: The growth of interdisciplinarity&quot;, Michael J. Kurtz and Edwin Henneken. Each file has a header with a description of the data contained in the file.&nbsp;Table 1 consists of the bibstems for the journals in the main sample.&nbsp;Table 2 contains the individual data for each journal in the format journal, indicator, value, year. Table 3 has these data for all refereed journals (including the journals in the main sample, and all the rest). All three data files are ASCII files with space-separated columns.</p> <p>The term &quot;bibstem&quot; is the journal abbreviation used within the Astrophysics Data System. The complete list of bibstems is provided here:&nbsp;http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs_doc/journals2.html. The bibstem is used in the ADS bibliographic identifier (&quot;bibcode&quot;) with the convention that ampersands are replaced by plus signs (see: http://adsabs.github.io/help/actions/bibcode).</p>

A Scientific Journal List at Japanese News Articles

<p><strong>Abstract</strong> (our paper)</p> <p>In Japanese scientific news articles, although the research results are described clearly, the article&#39;s sources tend to be uncited. This makes it difficult for readers to know the details of the research. In this paper, we address the task of extracting journal names from Japanese scientific news articles. We hypothesize that a journal name is likely to occur in a specific context. To support the hypothesis, we construct a character-based method and extract journal names using this method. This method only uses the left and right context features of journal names. The results of the journal name extractions suggest that the distribution hypothesis plays an important role in identifying the journal names.</p> <p><strong>Data</strong></p> <p>list.txt.gz:<br> The first column is the extraction text by our method (journal name), the second column is the cleaned text, the third column is the news date, and the fourth column is the news URL.</p> <p><strong>Publication</strong></p> <p>This data set is part of our experimental results. The adoption of Article Processing Charges as a business model by Brazilian Open Access journals. <em>Transinforma&ccedil;&atilde;o</em>, 31:e180045, 2019. <a href="https://doi.org/10.1590/2318-0889201931e180045">https://doi.org/10.1590/2318-0889201931e180045</a></p> <p>Different funding and business model alternatives for Open Access to scientific publication have been discussed and tried, either by Gold open access journals or by the &lsquo;hybrid&rsquo; ones. A growing number of both types of scholarly journals have adopted a publication fee &ndash; more specifically an Article Processing Charge &ndash; as their open access business model, a procedure that has been the subject of controversies. The objective of this study is to characterize Brazilian open access journals that adopt article processing charges. The main contribution of this study is to audit and support decision making of editorial policies and business models for open access that are being proposed by and for Brazilian journals. We defined a sample of Brazilian open access journals using article processing charges extracted from the Directory of Open Access Journals database in April 2018 along with their classification in the Scimago Journal Ranking, Journal Citation Reports and Qualis Capes system, considered as an indicator of prestige of academic journals. The study reveals that a small number of Brazilian open access journals are currently applying article processing charges, with practices varying mainly according to fields of study, types of organization and classification according to the Qualis system.</p>

Metadata on Articles Published at the Requirements Engineering Conference, REFSQ conference, or Requirements Engineering Journal from 2009 until 2018

<p>In the 1990s, it was recognized that Requirements Engineering lays the foundation for high quality software. A substantial research community has formed that set out to enable practitioners of the 21st century to systematically adopt proven strategies to common development challenges and to enable the engineering of innovative solutions and product features. But is contemporary RE Research delivering what it set out to deliver? In the article at IEEE Software 36(4) with DOI 10.1109/MS.2019.2909127, we provide a brief overview over the accomplishments of the past 10 years and identify open opportunities. The work at hand is the raw dataset of metadata, specifically keywords and author names, of articles published at the Requirements Engineering Conference, REFSQ conference, or Requirements Engineering Journal from 2009 until 2018 and supplements our article.</p>
