FIGURE 1. Phylogeny of the genus Agaricus generated from Bayesian analysis of ITS sequences, rooted with 4 species of A. section Agaricus. Parsimony bootstrap support (BS) and Bayesian posterior probability (PP) values>50% are given at the internodes (PP/BS). The different sections and subsections are represented as follows: Clade A represents section Sanguinolenti (A1 is subsection Sylvatici and A2 is subsection Bohusia); Clade B represents section Nigrobrunnescentes; Clade C represents section Xanthodermatei; Clade D represents section Chitonioides; Clade E represents section Bivelares (E1 is subsection Cupressorum; and E2 is subsection Hortenses); Clade F represents section Agaricus. The sequences produced from this research are in bold; and "T" means the sequence is from type specimen.
