Amphora - Egyptian duty roster
The text on this amphora is no longer complete, but we can still see that it is a duty roster used by soldiers in the Roman army. It states which soldier will stand guard at what time in their fort in the southern Egyptian desert. Judging from the names, the group of guards was multicultural: Drakon and Areianos are Greek names, Isidoros and Petosiris are Egyptian, and Clemens and Maximus Roman. This is a 3D reconstruction of the Amphora, containing the section of text only for the part of the object that still remains today. Upper Egypt, ca. AD 150-200.
