LAGOS-AND: A Large Gold Standard Dataset for MAG/OpenAlex Author Name Disambiguation
<p>We present a large gold standard dataset for author name disambiguation (AND) research (LAGOS-AND), which contains two sub-datasets, LAGOS-AND-BLOCK and LAGOS-AND-PAIRWISE. The datasets were automatically built by using the two authoritative sources, ORCID and DOI, based on the ORCID open database and an open literature database (MAG or OpenAlex).</p> <p>The currently available versions of the LAGOS-AND datasets are:</p> <ol> <li><strong>Version 1.0 (MAG+ORCID)</strong>: This is the initial version of the LAGOS-AND dataset, the evaluation results and quality control measures of this version dataset can be found in this paper <a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2104.01821">https://arxiv.org/abs/2104.01821</a>.</li> <li><strong>Version 2.0 (OpenAlex+ORCID)</strong>: This version builds on OpenAlex instead of MAG because MAG was discontinued on 31 December 2021, and OpenAlex not only positions itself as a drop-in replacement for MAG but also keeps evolving by aggregating academic resources from other repositories. In addition, the pairwise-based sub-dataset (LAGOS-AND-PAIRWISE v2.0) improves the accuracy of labeled authorship (class label) as compared to LAGOS-AND-PAIRWISE v1.0.</li> </ol> <p>Note that there are other versions of the dataset, which we call "pre-release". We recommend users to use the normal version of the dataset. These pre-release versions were originally intended to be released as the normal versions. However, during the preparation of the research paper, we found an issue with the dataset and the reviewers also made some reasonable requests for the dataset. This led us to update the dataset. Unfortunately, the Zenodo platform does not allow updates to the same version of dataset, so we had to create new versions. The created pre-release datasets are as follows:</p> <ol> <li><strong>Version 2.0-alpha</strong>: For few samples in LAGOS-AND-PAIRWISE, the class labels are incorrect. We improve the accuracy of the class label in the normal Version 2.0 dataset by using a better random sampling approach.</li> <li><strong>Version 1.0-beta</strong>: We created this version because a sub-dataset of this version LAGOS-AND-PAIRWISE contains only ~500K author pairs, while it should contain ~1M author pairs, as described in our paper. We fixed the problem in the Version 1.0 dataset.</li> <li><strong>Version 1.0-alpha</strong>: The earliest dataset uploaded to Zenodo, corresponding to the original dataset before addressing the reviewers' comments and suggestions. In contrast, the dataset in Version 1.0 is the dataset after the reviewers' comments and suggestions have been addressed.</li> </ol>

Making The Taxonomic Effort: Data on Index Fungorum and IPNI new species and new combinations author gender
<p>Data on plant and fungal names and new combinations extracted in 2018 from the International Plant Names Index (IPNI) and Index Fungorum (IF) on names published from 1931 onwards. Total Load Profiles by Balancing Authority in the Western United States for GODEEEP
<p>This dataset contains time-series of total load profiles across Balancing Authorities (BAs) in the western United States (U.S.) electricity grid interconnection for the years 2025, 2030, 2035, 2040, 2045, and 2050. The data is provided for two different socioeconomic pathways and one climate scenario. The socioeconomic pathways -- Business-As-Usual (BAU_Climate) and Net-Zero without CCS (NetZeroNoCCS_Climate) -- are described by <a href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7838871">https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7838871</a>. The climate scenario -- Representative Concentration Pathway 8.5 hotter (rcp85hotter) -- is described by <a href="https://doi.org/10.57931/1885756">https://doi.org/10.57931/1885756</a>. Transportation loads in this dataset are derived from <a href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8065137">https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8065137</a>. Non-transportation loads are derived using the Total Electricity Loads (TELL) model which is available <a href="https://github.com/IMMM-SFA/tell">here</a>. The data was post-processed using a Jupyter notebook available <a href="https://github.com/GODEEEP/load_analysis/blob/main/notebooks/process_load_data.ipynb">here</a>.</p> <p>A brief summary of the files and directories in this data package is provided below. <p>Web archive derivatives of the <a href="https://archive-it.org/collections/12172">Literary Authors from Europe and Eurasia Web Archive</a> collection from the <a href="https://archive-it.org/home/IvyPlus">Ivy Plus Libraries Confederation</a>. The derivatives were created with the <a href="https://github.com/archivesunleashed/aut/">Archives Unleashed Toolkit</a> and <a href="https://cloud.archivesunleashed.org/">Archives Unleashed Cloud</a>.</p> <p>The <strong>ivy-12172-parquet.tar.gz</strong> derivatives are in the <a href="https://parquet.apache.org/">Apache Parquet format</a>, which is a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Column-oriented_DBMS">columnar storage</a> format. These derivatives are generally small enough to work with on your local machine, and can be easily converted to Pandas DataFrames. A Hybrid Focus Group for the Evaluation of Digital Scholarly Editions of Literary Authors
<p>Data from focus group conducted for DiXiT - Digital Scholarly Editions Initial Training Network. </p> <p>We are studying the use of digital scholarly editions, by observing what users do in interaction with different editions. For this analysis, we chose three digital scholarly editions, designed tasks specific to these editions, confronted typical users with these tasks, and analysed the quality of use in relation to efficiency and effectiveness.</p> <p>The research leading to these results has received funding from the People Programme (Marie Curie Actions) of the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme FP7/2007-2013/ under REA grant agreement n° 317436.</p>

<p>Included to provide a reference for a WikiData editor to add this information to all IPNI id's in WIkiData so that it is maintained by the community and more reusable. <br>The data has been largely updated for publication of <i>2023</i> Making the taxonomic effort: acknowledging female role models in botanical and mycological taxonomy. The Linnean Special Issue 10: 44-59. and for an upcoming paper: Creating a multi-linked dynamic dataset: a case study of plant genera named for women. Biodiversity Data Journal. However, it will not contain names entered after about 2020 since the paper was in submission for a few years due to Covid.</p>
