Data on Direct-to-Consumer Genetic Testing and DNA testing companies

This table was compiled between 2011 and 2018. It is a list of companies offering direct-to-consumer DNA tests over the internet. It is primarily concerned with direct-to-consumer genetic testing companies operating currently and also includes those, which are no longer operating. The table briefly summarizes the services offered by each company and gives the company’s location.

I am continuing to update this list, so it is a work in progress, it does include some companies that advertise their services to physicians and some companies may have altered their offerings. Further updates will be provided later in 2018. I have added a shorter table at the end of relevant other companies. I hope to make a searchable database of a revised version of the document available through my website in the future.

This work is being released for informational and educational purposes and should not be used for commercial purposes.

Please refer to my website for further updates http://www.andelkamphillips.com

Dataset and Data Dictionary for "Enhancing Consumer Satisfaction in Live Commerce: A Study of Middle-Aged Women's Cosmetics Purchases Using TAM, PVT, and SIT Models

This dataset is part of a study investigating the underexplored factors driving middle-aged Chinese women’s purchasing behavior in live commerce, particularly in the context of their decision-making amidst the rapid expansion of e-commerce. The study employs a comprehensive theoretical framework based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Perceived Value Theory (PVT), and Social Influence Theory (SIT).

Data were collected through a structured survey administered to 653 women aged 40 to 59. The dataset captures key variables including ease of use, pricing, consumer trust, platform interactivity, and purchase satisfaction. These variables are essential for understanding the complex relationships that influence purchasing decisions in live-stream shopping environments.

The dataset has been analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), revealing that factors such as ease of use, perceived value from competitive pricing, consumer trust, and real-time platform interactivity significantly enhance purchase satisfaction. Moreover, the results demonstrate that perceived value moderates these relationships, amplifying their effects under conditions of high perceived value.

This dataset provides valuable insights into the psychological and social factors that shape e-commerce behavior, offering implications for optimizing platform design to promote consumer trust and long-term engagement.

Keywords: Live commerce, Middle-aged women, Purchasing behavior, Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Perceived Value Theory (PVT), Social Influence Theory (SIT), Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), Consumer trust, E-commerce.

Consumer biodiversity increases organic nutrient availability across aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems

Human land-use intensification threatens arthropod (e.g., insect and spider) biodiversity across aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Insects and spiders play critical roles in ecosystems by accumulating and synthesizing organic nutrients like polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). However, links between biodiversity and nutrient content of insect and spider communities have yet to be quantified. We relate insect and spider richness to biomass and PUFA-mass from stream and terrestrial communities encompassing nine land-uses. PUFA-mass and biomass relate positively to biodiversity cross ecosystems. In terrestrial systems, human-dominated areas have lower biomass and PUFA-mass than more natural areas, even at equivalent levels of richness. Aquatic ecosystems have consistently higher PUFA mass than terrestrial ecosystems. Our findings reinforce the importance of conserving biodiversity and highlight unique benefits of aquatic biodiversity.

This is all of the data and code required to reproduce the analyses. The repository doesn't allow specific folder structures, but the data should ideally be organized into folders organized and named as follows -

    1_raw_data/
├─ bdm_data/
│ ├─ bdm_families_list.csv
├─ pufa_concentration_data/
│ ├─ Literature_estimates/
│ │ ├─ Literature_estimates.xlsx
│ ├─ Margaux_PUFA_Conc/
│ │ ├─ 2a.Lunz 2019_FA_InsectTransfer - Content.xlsx
│ │ ├─ 3a.Lunz 2019_FA_InsectConsu - Content.xlsx
│ ├─ Martin_Creuzberg_PUFA_Conc/
│ │ ├─ all_STOTEN.xlsx
│ ├─ Tarn_PUFA/
│ │ ├─ Mindelsee_FA.xlsx
├─ wsl_data/
2_modified_data/
├─ terr_insects_nutrients_null.rds
├─ aq_insect_nutrients_null.rds
├─ aquatic.data.rds
├─ terrestrial_data.rds
├─ insect_data/
│ ├─ aq_insect_regressions.rds
│ ├─ te_insect_regressions.rds
├─ null_models/
│ ├─ aquatic_habitat_all.rds
│ ├─ terrestrial_habitat_all.rds
3_r_scripts/
├─ Diversity_Analaysis.rmd
├─ Null_models.rmd
├─ Nutrient_content.rmd
├─ Scaling_relationships.rmd
