Synthetic post-dive precordial and subclavian Doppler ultrasound using Kisman-Masurel and Spencer grades
<p><span>Doppler ultrasound (DU) measurements are used to detect and evaluate venous gas emboli (VGE) formed after decompression. Automated analysis methodologies of these VGE have been developed on varying real-world datasets of limited size and without ground truth values preventing objective evaluation. We develop and report a method to generate synthetic post-dive data using DU signals collected in both precordium and subclavian vein with varying degrees of bubbling matching field-standard grading metrics. This method is adaptable, modifiable, and reproducible, allowing for researchers to tune the produced dataset for their desired purpose. We provide the baseline Doppler recordings and code required to generate synthetic data for researchers to reproduce our work and improve upon it. We also provide a set of pre-made synthetic post-dive DU data spanning six scenarios representing the Spencer and Kisman-Masurel (KM) grading scales as well as precordial and subclavian DU recordings. By providing a method for synthetic post-dive DU data generation, we aim to improve and accelerate the development of signal processing techniques for VGE analysis in Doppler ultrasound. </span></p>
Doppler lidar wind profiles from Rzecin during POLIMOS 2018
<p>This is data set includes Doppler wind lidar quantities which were calculated from measurements performed between May and September 2018 at <em>PolWET </em>site in Rzecin, Poland (52.75°N, 16.30°E, 59 m a.s.l.) of the Poznan University of Life Sciences</p> <p>The system is a Doppler lidar Stream Line (Halo Photonics), which is part of ACTRIS-Cloudnet (Illingworth et al., 2007). The system laser emits at 1.5 μm and the detector is heterodyne using fiber-optic technology. The measurements for this data set consisted of conical scans (VAD) with constant elevation of 70° and 12 equidistant azimuth points performed every 30 min. A more detailed description of the instrument can be found in (Ortiz-Amezcua et al., 2022)</p>

2009-10 Sub-ice Current Velocities Recorded with an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler
On 7 January 2010, a SonTek Argonaut-XR 1.5 MHz Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) was fixed at the bottom of the lake ice in the Lake Hoare Limno Hole inside the Polar Haven, looking downward through the water column. Every 10 seconds, the ADCP measured horizontal and vertical current velocities in ten, 30-cm-thick cells between 0.5 and 3.5 m below the lake ice. Over 32.5 hours, horizontal currents in the shallowest cell (0.5 to 0.8 m below lake ice) had a mean speed of 23.8 cm/sec. This speed was independently validated by lowering a SonTek handheld Acoustic Doppler Velocity (ADV) meter into the ice hole. Horizontal speeds oscillated between 10.1 and 37.5 cm/sec over the course of the ADCP dataset. Fast Fourier Transforms of x-direction velocity data from the shallowest cell identified oscillation periods of 11, 3.7, and 2.5 minutes consistent with the theoretical first-mode longitudinal surface seiche in Lake Hoare. Current direction oscillated between N 78 degrees E and N 289 degrees E along the east-west longitudinal axis of the lake, consistent with the behavior of a seiche.

<p>Doppler reflectometry is a microwave scattering diagnostic for measuring wavenumber resolved density fluctuation strengths in plasmas. Especially in fusion plasmas, turbulence is an ever-present phenomenon.</p> <p>This movie illustrates the scattering processes involved in building a wavenumber spectrum from scattering at different wavenumbers. For artistic purposes, the wave packets are much shorter than in a real application, where is would be quasi-continuous.
