Supporting information of a study for the definition and evaluation of a graphical user interface for housing co-design

This dataset is from a study that intends to define, prototype and test a graphical user interface for a housing co-design system. To define the requirements of the interface, we conducted interviews with professionals of architecture, urbanism and social sciences areas, as well as with housing cooperatives and inhabitants of these institutions. An interface solution was prototyped, tested and refined. Then we conducted a heuristic evaluation and a summative evaluation. Such evaluations involved the testing of a high-fidelity prototype, to receive feedback from UX/UI experts, potential users (inhabitants) and architects. S1_File refers to the interview protocol used with the three groups of interviewees. We share the English and Portuguese versions of the interviews with professionals and the original (Portuguese) and translated versions of the remaining ones since these were conducted in Portuguese. S2_File is a dataset reporting the results of the interviews. Each question includes the answers given and the identification (anonymized) of the interviewees who responded to that question. S3_File describes the usability issues identified by the experts during the heuristic evaluation of the high-fidelity prototype. The first page organizes the issues by severity (left) and priority (right). The remaining pages have a table for each issue, including rows for problem designation, heuristic violated, problem description, solution proposal, severity degree, and an image of the interface pointing to the referred issue. S4_File refers to the results of the heuristic evaluation. It includes the identification of each issue, which expert (anonymized) identified such issue, and the heuristic it violates, with the sum of the times each heuristic was violated at the end of each column. At the right, a table presents the consolidation of issues, organized by priority, with columns identifying the issue, severity level, frequency, and priority. S5_File is the script given to potential users to experiment with the interface during the summative evaluation. This script guides the user through the tasks to perform since the prototype does not have all the features functioning. S6_File refers to the questionnaires applied during the summative evaluation with inhabitants. It includes a preliminary questionnaire, a Single Ease Question (SEQ) questionnaire, a System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire, and a Graphical User Interface (GUI) questionnaire. S7_File refers to the results of the summative evaluation with inhabitants (potential users). <ul> <li>Page A refers to the preliminary questionnaire with demographic information such as age, gender, education, relationship with digital technologies, etc. Each field corresponds with each inhabitant (anonymised) and the sum and percentage. In the middle, a table presents a summary of the consolidation. In the right possible relations are presented. </li> <li>Page B presents the results of the SEQ questionnaire, identifying the ratings each inhabitant (anonymized) gave each task. A summary of such values is at the right. </li> <li>On page C, the result of each rating for the SUS questionnaire given by each inhabitant (anonymized) is shown. At the bottom is the calculation of the SUS score.</li> <li>Page D presents the GUI questionnaire results for each inhabitant (anonymized), with the average and SD identified for each question. A summary of such results is on the right.</li> <li>Page E holds the notes taken by the researchers based on their observations regarding task performance. The information is organized in tables for each step of each task and includes the completeness, attempts, and time taken for each inhabitant (anonymized) to complete such task. Also, the sum, percentage, average, and SD are registered. Next to each task is a table identifying how many participants accomplished the task at the first attempt.</li> <li>Page F refers to the strong and weak aspects identified by the inhabitants. Strong and weak aspects are identified, as well as which inhabitant (anonymized) has identified them. The sum and percentage are also given. At the right, there is a table with the consolidation of results by combining similar answers. </li> </ul> S8_File refers to the results of the discussion with architects after experiencing the interface. Such results relate to the positive and negative aspects that the architects identified in the interface and its usefulness for architecture. SERENA EJP Soil Green house gas aplication Moravia region, Czechia

The present dataset corresponds to a map of Net Ecosystem Productivity (NEP) for Moravia region in Czechia classified as wheat by the Eurocrop 2028 spatial product (d’Andrimont et al. 2021). The map is the result of applying the NEP cookbook developed in SERENA/EJP-Soil to the area of interest (AOI) input data. NEP is expressed for a single 8-day period in early summer as it is the date with the highest value. The NEP value is a 2010-2014 average for the particular 8-day period. The data description document of the cookbook (hereafter “GHG cookbook”) itself corresponds to other document of the SERENA project.

Spatial distribution of housing rental value in Amsterdam 1647-1652

This dataset visualises the spatial distribution of the rental value in Amsterdam between 1647 and 1652. The source of rental value comes from the Verponding registration in Amsterdam. The verponding or the ‘Verpondings-quohieren van den 8sten penning’ was a tax in the Netherlands on the 8th penny of the rental value of immovable property that had to be paid annually. In Amsterdam, the citywide verponding registration started in 1647 and continued into the early 19th century. With the introduction of the cadastre system in 1810, the verponding came to an end. The original tax registration is kept in the Amsterdam City Archives (Archief nr. <a href="https://archief.amsterdam/inventarissen/details/5044/withscans/0/findingaid/5044/start/0/limit/10/flimit/5">5044</a>) and the four registration books transcribed in this dataset are Archief 5044, inventory  <a href="https://archief.amsterdam/inventarissen/scans/5044/33.2/start/0/limit/10/highlight/2">255</a>, 273, <a href="https://archief.amsterdam/inventarissen/scans/5044/33.28/start/0/limit/10/highlight/4">281</a>, <a href="https://archief.amsterdam/inventarissen/scans/5044/33.31/start/0/limit/10/highlight/4">284</a>. The verponding was collected by districts (wijken). The tax collectors documented their collecting route by writing down the street or street-section names as they proceed. For each property, the collector wrote down the names of the owner and, if applicable, the renter (after ‘per’), and the estimated rental value of the property (in guilders). Next to the rental value was the tax charged (in guilders and stuivers). Below the owner/renter names and rental value were the records of tax payments by year. This dataset digitises four registration books of the verponding between 1647 and 1652 in two ways. First, it transcribes the rental value of all real estate properties listed in the registrations. The names of the owners/renters are transcribed only selectively, focusing on the properties that exceeded an annual rental value of 300 guilders. These transcriptions can be found in Verponding1647-1652.csv. For a detailed introduction to the data, see Verponding1647-1652_data_introduction.txt. Second, it geo-references the registrations based on the street names and the reconstruction of tax collectors’ travel routes in the verponding. The tax records are then plotted on the historical map of Amsterdam using the first cadaster of 1832 as a reference. Since the geo-reference is based on the street or street sections, the location of each record/house may not be the exact location but rather a close proximation of the possible locations based on the street names and the sequence of the records on the same street or street section. Therefore, this geo-referenced verponding can be used to visualise the rental value distribution in Amsterdam between 1647 and 1652. Ammonia emissions from a Swiss dairy housing

These data contain ammonia concentration measurements using line-integrated miniDOAS instruments and emission calculations using an inverse dispersion method applying the bLS model at an experimental dairy housing operated by Agroscope in Tänikon, Switzerland during several months from September to December 2018. The data are described in a manuscript titled "Ammonia emissions from a dairy housing and wastewater treatment plant quantified with an inverse dispersion method accounting for deposition loss" submitted to the Journal of Air & Waste Management in 2023. These measurements were funded by the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (Contract 00.5082.P2I R254-0652).

Data on the fleas of house mice and ship rats in the Orongorongo Valley, New Zealand

Data on autopsies and fleas of individual rats and mice snap-trapped in 80 quarterly 3-day trapping sessions over 1971-1991 in the Orongorongo Valley, Wellington, New Zealand. The fleas are preserved as slides in the Pilgrim Collection of Te Papa Tongarewa Museum of New Zealand, Wellington. The data are analysed in a forthcoming paper by Fitzgerald, Efford and Karl. 'Autopsy data.csv' is the main spreadsheet. 'Data format.csv' defines columns and codes. The autopsy data are a subset of those reported by Fitzgerald, Efford and Karl (2004) and Efford, Fitzgerald, Karl and Berben (2006), both with respect to the sampling period (trapping continued after May 1991, but rats and mice were not searched for fleas) and data columns (some reproductive fields have been omitted).
