Known from scattered records in S Senegal (Niokolo-Koba National Park and Diattacounda), SW & SE Guinea (near Kindia, Simandou Range, and Mt Nimba), C Sierra Leone, N Liberia (including Liberian Mt Nimba), and E Ivory Coast; it is potentially present in Gambia in patches of relict forest. in Rhinolophidae

FIGURE 7 in Paragoniosomatinae, a new subfamily of Gonyleptidae (Arachnida: Opiliones) based on a new species from the Chapada Diamantina relict cloud forests, Brazil
FIGURE 7. Schematic representation of evolutionary scenario of the origins of Paragoniosomatinae (red) and Goniosomatinae (blue), their diagnostic characters and geographic ranges. Shadow area on the map is the evergreen, dense Atlantic Forest. Scale below shows the estimated divergence time of Acutisoma longipes (Peres et al., 2017), along with a speculative divergence time of Paragoniosoma cachaceiro gen. nov., sp. nov.. Photograph of P. cachaceiro by Leonardo Carvalho. Photographs of Goniosomatinae species: left side, above, Acutisoma longipes (by Ricardo Pinto-da-Rocha), middle, Goniosoma carum (by Pedro Martins), bottom, Heteromitobates discolor (by Myriam); right side, above, Mitogoniella taquara (by Arthur Anker), middle, Pyatan insperatum (by Adriano Kury) and bottom, Serracutisoma pseudovarium (by Almir de Almeida).
